I think it’s ok to question God. Wisdom comes from learning and learning requires questions and trial/error. I think it’s part of the relationship too.I trust you GOD but I’m curious of where I’m going or what you’re requiring of me. I talk to God and ask questions like I would ask my father bc HE is my FATHER. 😇

I think its in the wording of the question. I think there is a difference between questioning God ( His sovereignty and authority) and asking God questions and thats where the confusion usually is or atleast thats where it was for me.

“Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘The potter has no hands’? Woe to the one who says to a father, ‘What have you begotten?’ or to a mother, ‘What have you brought to birth?’ “This is what the Lord says- the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: Concerning things to come, do you question me about my children, or give me orders about the work of my hands? It is I who made the earth and created mankind on it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts

I listened to this and started crying, because I've seen God move so mightily at a specific time and I got so afraid that if I didn't align myself with that same formula, then i would never experience such a move again. I got so caught up in trying to copy and paste the technique that the Holyspirit reminded me through this that there is a new thing in a new way, don't get stuck trying to worship the formula....come after me, I am God....I will do it for you. That was just a amazing!

True coz God doesn’t always answer the same way, you remember when the Israelites were in the desert and they were thirsty and God said to Moses hit the rock and water came out, next tine He said speak to the rock, even though He didn’t obey God, it showed that He can use different ways to answer the same problem , so if you caught up in a formula, you will miss an amazing experience of watching Him move... I’ve learnt so much from studying the Israelites’ journey with God in the wilderness...

I think that because there’s a generational of people somewhere along the way who were taught that questioning an adult is disrespectful. That trait also got put on God

This is good ladies! There is a bad myth in our Black culture that “you cannot question God”, sounds like another distraction from the enemy trying to stop us from having that close relationship with God. 🤦🏾‍♀️ this is why you have to learn the word for your self. “Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee” 🙌

When we question God. We are simply asking him to communicate with us about something. But because we do not know how to express our self to God. We just begin to question. The best way to hand it is to ask God to give you an understanding of your current situation at the time.

I think also that, this new generation is completely different to long ago on what was learned and continued on, (like God is so strict)but this generation is so much more developed and advanced. (Casual & inquisitive), needing reasoning for things & understanding.

This question hits me deep. I believe it's the only way you'd seek an understanding and connect deeper to him. I questioned God when mom rested. To the point that when we saw her at the morgue I still challenged him to bring her back. I was crushed, angry and nothing made sense. A year now and it's through the wilderness that I came to believe that Only God sees and understands your journey. It's also through this that I started hearing God speak. JIREH is enough 🙏

What's so crazy is my Pastor taught us the complete opposite. She always taught us to seek God for our selves and to never make her our God. Go into our prayer closet, pray, wait, and LISTEN! She also taught us prayer is conversation with God. We can literally be in pryer all day with God just by constantly talking to him. I'm so sorry that lady made her feel "unqualified". If no sin is greater than the next, what makes someone unqualified in the sight of the Lord?

Loved this conversation starter and stopper... Do we question our God? An immediate response to this question is NO! However, I'd like to add here that how and why we question GOD is crucial. Are we doing it out of self-righteousness or humility? There's a difference. Also, do we do it so we prove our self-righteousness or humility in our intent? In the end I believe out of answering these there's a way of presenting ourselves to GOD in our relationship with HIM just as HE has a way of presenting HIMSELF to us. Let us learn from Scripture. Blessings beloveds

He gives wisdom to those who ask… we take that to mean ask for wisdom. Yes but you can also ask questions to which His answer gives you wisdom. James 1:5-6 NKJV 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
