Have We Normalized Suffering in Silence? | In The Room

Ойын-сауық

Everyone loves the strong friend. Society has made it okay to internalize and keep it moving even when you’re down to nothing in your emotional tank. In this episode of #InTheRoom we decided that we are no longer going to suffer in silence but we are making the choice to heal out loud.

The pressure to be a “perfect” Christian with no flaws is causing more harm than we realize. Glad we can normalize this now. We can’t heal what we don’t acknowledge is hurting. Thank you God for healing your children through this

Suffering in silence is real. One may feel they must put on a mask in order to pretend to be okay. Key words that were said, "Turn on, turn off." Because in some people's world (alot of people actually) you're just supposed to be okay. And, you are not okay, go talk to someone you can trust.

Thanks for the likes, but when you hear God speaking...do that. Don't allow the enemy to unjustly punish for being human. God is love, and so much more. Speaking out about different crisis, especially that in which spoken of within the given platform is needed. Don't be afraid to be brave; be bold in Christ Jesus.

I've fallen into the premature testimony many times. When I was in pain I'd quickly jump into what I thought I was learning or gaining from the experience instead of admitting that I'm hurt and disappointed. It led to a dishonesty with God and it took a while to learn to say I'm not okay and that's okay because I will be

What I’ve learned from this conversation is we should normalize suffering. In 1Peter 5:9-10 the Bible comforts us that we should know that suffering is part of the process and that our brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And after all this suffering, the God of all grace will restore you and make you strong. We need more safe spaces, but first we need to acknowledge our problems, and that ITS OKAY to be and feel vulnerable. The Lord sees you and wants to heal you. The person next to you that asks you: “are you okay” might be the angel that was sent to be the medium/pathway TO your restoration and healing. God loves us. 🤍

This was🔥🔥🔥 Queen Fatima sister I felt and understand your pain😭when I got diagnosed with my lung disease I had to be strong for my children, I would only cry when they weren’t around. But now I cry out because if I can do it in private I should be able to do in public. God didn’t allow this challenge for me to suffer in silence but to be open no matter if I’m feeling good/bad. Like today I was in pain and I chose to say I’m in pain and I’m staying in my room to rest, when usually I’ll just push through it. I know God has me and I’ll continue waiting patiently for my healing. I will see God’s glory in my life🙌🏾🤍🙏🏾 Thank you Queens for been raw and uncut💯💪🏾 we need this in these times because this world is made up with actors.

Most of us make "born again Christianity" as the high-level of perfection. Which is untrue, it only means we know where to take our weaknesses. You remember the song "What a friend we have in Jesus"? It says to us its OK to be weak before God (His community around you). The Word of God in James 5 says we should come together to be there for one another... Its the honesty that heals us.

This is definitely my testimony. I suffered so much until I turned it into fuel. But because I did resolve it I had 5 strokes and a heart aneurism. Then God gave me a vision of a beach with debris all over it and told me to deal with it. I went to therapy and started my journey. It has been hard because like the girl in the video I don’t like to cry. But because I was so full of trauma my cup was running over and I couldn’t control my emotions, which also made me mad 😂. But God told me He would turn my misery in to ministry, my pain into virtue, and my testimony will be someone else deliverance. Now I can really say He restored my soul. 😇🙏🏾❤️check on ur strong friends

It’s beautiful to have a platform as such to help people of God to identify and allow themselves to feel their truths. I agree, God will allow us to go through a season. We have to normalize that we all are human and have the right to not feel okay. I agree, I’m good at faking it until I make it. For me… so many people depend upon me for emotional and spiritual support which leaves me drained and it forces me to hide my own mental health. As of late I’ve been allowing myself to be human and to feel every emotion.

I like this episode. I remembered last year when my sister told me a piece of news that made me go from a 100 to a 0. I was really suffering but still, I was attending meetings, and classes, and was even trying to be there for friends while crying a lotttt in my private space. And my only prayer was that someone would see that I'm suffering, that while I shared a laugh with friends or work with my team, someone would see something off. While we receive strength in the lord, we need to first see our weaknesses, and acknowledge those weaknesses, and then God will provide the strength that we need.

I think the safe space element is critical. I have found that alot of people at work and even "friends" either don't care or care from a distance. They would rather not be made uncomfortable or inconvenienced by my pain. It has to be something big like a loss of a parent or child in order for them "excuse" my vulnerability. And that's led me to ultimately handle the heavy part on my own and then once I've collected myself then I can share after the fact.

That's a word!!! Although a part of me feel like the structural racism, feminist movement and broken homes strongly contribute to the way many black women feel. Black women are expected nowadays to carry the burden a black man would + black women hardships. Meaning the expectations are to be 'super woman' and do everything!!!

  • @harmonious.balance

    @harmonious.balance

@@Jiron127 I’m not so sure it’s expected; it’s just what is. If we can’t share our burdens, then what are we supposed to do? We bear them alone. We figure out how to cope, manage, and move forward. I think we have a fortitude for persistence and endurance. That’s actually not a bad thing. But it’s not always balanced out with support and recovery. It ends up being this terrible cycle because we’ve learned how to self soothe and others don’t offer support because they think we don’t need it.

I had to teach myself and still remind myself of this from time to time. This key is to acknowledge Jesus in the brokeness, so he can meet you in that and pull you out. To boil it down we don't know how to serve God and be human. We to want to be God and not be human. We deny our feelings because we think God do not want us to feel anything. We made ourselves believe we don't deserve anything or deserve to be treated right as a human being. We deny everything because we trying to be God. You keep doing this God will show that you are human and you can't be him.

I used to be so angry with the season I was in life and how I was suffering at my work place.I was filled with jealousy and anger that I never felt any wrong about it.I couldn’t speak to anyone but God, I would question Him why things are happening to me and He isn’t doing anything.I love Jesus because what happened next is that He did not withhold himself from guiding as a good shepherd He is. By His grace He placed me in a position of acknowledging my flaws and surrendering all of my emotions to Him. All I do know is glorify His name and share of the good and bad season in my life for Him to be glorified more. Thank you pastor Stephanie and the team for this.May God bless you 🙏🏽

Excellent topic.. Believer's will interalize what they're going through to avoid being made to feel like they like faith. Nothing will change until the actions, mindset, attitudes and views of a believer suffering. Whether the suffering stems in the area of financial, job conflict, Christian Walk challenges, we need to move beyond our Christian-ese interaction with one another responding...God's in control. You want to see believer's raise brows then get real with them with your struggles. I have a so-called friend (believer) whose attitude is for us to only talk about positive things and avoids speaking about the reality of not so positive issues being faced.

Thank you so much for this broadcast and this great conversation. I've been binge watching since I found the channel. I am in a season of waiting and I left the church because I was tired of biblical platitudes that people would plaster on top of my very painful situation.. I want more than church.. I need answers and only God can give them to me. I feel like I have grown and I have learned more in the past 3 years then perhaps all of my years attending church and I am 59 years old. I accepted Christ at the age of 27.got out of an abusive marriage 7 years ago, he then proceeded to manipulate my daughter against me an put his mistress in my place ( in my daughter's eyes). Trying to understand how Roman's 8:28 applies, or when psalm 37 will kick in. I'm tired of waiting. I believe my daughter will see the truth of her dad but at what cost? How much emotional damage may she suffer as a result of God not intervening....

Crazy because I've recently started to have these conversations with my elder's. After learning how to deal with an acknowledgment of my own feelings I started to question why I had never seen them deal with theirs. It took 39 years

I Thank God for y’all! This helped me tremendously!!! The year 2022 started out tough! My brother was murdered 12/31/21 and left behind 4 beautiful kids, 3 months later my grandmother who raised me passed away and 5 months later my grandson’s dad was murdered! I know God is with me and I will not allow the devil to defeat me! My testimony is going to be HUGE thanks to MY GOD🙌🙌🙌🙌

🙌🏿 This proves that Christ gave us instructions on communication among us and with God through action...acknowledge the issue, bring it to God in truth and declare who you are according to God's word. God isn't looking for performance, He is looking for relationship and faith. Be blessed and destress! Faith it and make it! We have the example...

♥️Moms know in your voice. Jesus in Gethsemane, my soul is sorrowful until death. 💙 😞 Who are we sharing the weaknesses with? The disconnect. Love how Stephanie sees when Caitlin wants to speak.💗 God anchors♥️you. Always brings you up and out of what hurts and is against you.
