Question: Is it necessary to chant a minimum of 16 rounds to please Lord Krishna?
Answer: In the beginning one finds it difficult to chant more than a couple of rounds daily.
However we can set a quota of chanting a certain number of rounds daily, even if only one or two. Once having set that quota, we should try to never go below it.
The Krishna consciousness movement prescribes sixteen rounds daily because people in this age cannot concentrate for long periods while chanting on beads.
Therefore the minimum number of rounds is prescribed, but in the highest stage pure devotees chant the holy names constantly, day and night, in the profound ecstasy of love of God and they never find it difficult.

I'm chanting only 12 rounds.im planned to do 16 rounds only in Sunday and 12 rounds in other days.is this my plan is good or not please reply my guru ji.
why do we chant daily can't we connect to god by doing prayers as usual we do..

Chanting is necessary. In kalyug Hari naam eva kevalam means Taking Hari name is only way to Godhead. One must start with chanting 2 mala everyday you will see the difference and later you can increase number of chanting. My personal experience is that now i cannot sleep if i haven't completed my 16 rounds. Hare Krishna

i have one more doubt,i read a text of shri prabhupad in which he is explaining his movement simply by saying that-if you see a flower you pluck it and u think to give it to your loved partner,that is your sense gratification but when u think to give it to krishna.our movement is to generate that consciousness. i want to ask that if we love someone on this earth then why is it sense gratification???? and if we love krishna then it is not sense gratification???why?????

@@ankit_Singh46 Because we are Aatma and Krishna is Parmatama. Their is nothing wrong in loving your family, friends but they all will be with you for some years at the end even they are the souls who belong to Krishna. And to please this world or ourselves is sense gratification but to please sences of Krishna is highest level of service. We come together as family then we separate and in next life we will get another family and so on. But our permanent relationship is with Krishna. Hope this answer is helpful. Hare Krishna
