I changed 16 rounds everyday maybe more at times

I started chanting 4 rounds but the effects were very good so I am increasing the rounds

There is no question of being practical or not , it is already a necessary part of 'practical life' for everyone.

Its possible... depending upon priorities..am able to do 16 rounds , reading, clg study,house work ,and civil service study.... actually if Chanting is done we can do lot more things.. easily productively

@@trueindian975 mostly morning 4-7 k beech...ya shaam me..8-10 bhi...mst jmta..but it depends ...just do by sitting in one place...brahma muhurt raha to best...bt late hua..to try to do least 4 rounds in one sitting..i get very awesome feeling when i complete 16 rounds in morning 1 sitting..from 5 -7 am

Prabhu ji hare Krishna. Kindly find some time to shed light on confusion whether to focus on japa quality or japa quantity. Some sects and Acharya say chant as much as possible ignoring quality of japa. They also refer one chopai from Ramayana "भाव कुभाव अनख आलस हूँ। नाम जपत मंगल दिसि दसहूँ॥" They say regardless you do attentive chanting or unattentive. Japa will show its effect anyway. So instead of chanting less quality rounds one should chant more rounds. Please give your valued opinion in this regards.

This chaupai is for the time when our mind is wandering and is not focused on God then , we should chant regardless of whether our mind is getting bliss or not. That's why we say भाव कुभाव अनख आलसहूँ। Naam will show it's divine effect even chanted without bliss. But chanting with focus on naam is of great importance. Quality matters and quantity is for focusing the mind all the time in God's lotus feet. Sitaram Radheshyam

I dont have the mala in hand bt I'm chanting the whole day so I think it's a good way , we have to chant , counting is not the aim.

I haven't started yet chanting, but I'm thinking to start it from the month of Kartik, so pls help me how many rounds should I chant in starting days. First day= 1 round in 2 hours. ?

Hare Krishna You can start with 1 or 2 rounds. 1 round takes about 7 minutes.

Namaste Prabhuji ! can we complete the Hare Krishna chanting of 16 rounds in splits as spending 2 hours at a stretch during morning hours is a little challenging during workdays because while chanting we should be focused entirely. It is not a will issue however it is time constrain during morning hours. Would also like to know if it will have any impact of not completing the chant in one go. Please advise!

Hare Krishna, I have read that morning Brahma Muhurta time is best for chanting. However Srila Prabhupada is very merciful and he gave an advice on "how a busy man in household life might chant sixteen rounds: chant four before breakfast, four before lunch, four before dinner, and four before taking rest for the evening."

Can I do 8rounds in morning and rest 8 in the evening??
