Being a slave to that maintenance isn’t what I signed up for.. I wouldn’t want to pay for that maintenance nor do it myself lol 🫣 but they are beautiful! salute to those sistas! 💯

So you’re the type was had tht nasty matted locs🤢🤢😩😩😩🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ wtf I can’t blv u just typed tht😅
So good to see you! I’ve had traditional locks for six years now, and I followed you immediately because our hair is similar. But I am OBSESSED with Sister locks and watching them be installed and maintained. But I know that they wouldn’t be for me simply because of the amount of them and the expensive upkeep. But they’re definitely gorgeous.

I agree! I love to look at them but, the prices are actually crazy! lol
Yeah. I have noticed this trend. 2 people I follow combed out their traditional locs and installed microlocs. I wanted Micros when I installed mines, but I knew I wasn’t willing to commit to hrs of maintenance. The whole purpose of me locking was for a low maintenance hair routine
I'm in my 3rd year of sisterlocks, best hair decision. I have 450+ locs and my maintenance takes 3 hours or sometimes less every 8 weeks. Not too bad in my opinion. I got them because I wanted to embrace my natural hair without having to do any daily upkeep other than spritz of water and finger comb.
I only have 250ish microlocs…I love them and it only takes 3-4 hours every 6-8 weeks. Thankfully I like the person that does my hair. We watch movies and talk and I enjoy it. And she doesn’t kill my pockets.😂
I decided against micro sis locs cause of the retie and install time. It’s the opposite of why I’m locking. I want to spend less time on hair planning and be able to do my own retwist if I want.

😂 lazy loc babessss unite
I transitioned from traditional locs to Micro locs and babbbyyyyyy!!! Although I love my hair, in my mind I just keep saying to myself, I have to learn how to maintain my own hair. I have about 350ish locs coming from 80 locs. My last set I had for 4.5 years and combed out and now 6 weeks into my Micro Locs journey. I was waiting on hearing your thoughts Dae. I had this vision in my mind, you would get Microlocs one day too! Lol I guess NOT😂

😂 I think they are soo sooo gorgeous but microlocs are for the girls with time! lol
I have microlocs, and 1) I was tired of doing my hair every weekend or every other weekend and 2) since mini twists were my go to style as a loose natural it just seemed the way to go because they gave me a similar look. Now you ain’t lying about the time it takes to retie them when I do it myself, but saving the coins is worth it in the end.
Mirco locs are so cute tbh. Didn't really do much research about locs when I started. Been thinking of combing out my traditional locs for it but the thought of starting over again just seems scary.
Yessss the trend is a thing, but omg I got my thick locks because honey I can’t sit that long for maintenance. When I do I am an hour and a half with my girl and that’s wash included lol
I love the versatility of microlocks but I’m not trying to sit in the stylist chair no more than 2 hours max including the shampoo. I’m sticking with traditional locs for now

My thoughts exactly!
The retwisting is the reason why I decided to do traditional locs. I started my own locs with two strand twists. I post monthly updates as well.🥰
I have DIY micro locs. I have approximately 300+. Initially it was a task , taking over 2 day to finish my re-tie. Now that I’ve had them for over 4 years my re-ties take about 4 hours to complete. My locs are not a small as sisterlocks so I feel like I have the best of both worlds!

DIY is amazing for the size! 🤍
I’ve had my diy microlocs for almost 2 yrs. I have larger ones, about 260 locs. I started with natural long hair so the transition was seamless. I opted to retwist instead of re-tie to have a more “traditional” journey, I prefer the look, and it has a shorter maintenance time. IMO microlocs don’t lock any faster than traditional locs, my twist pattern is still visible. I feel it’s the best of both worlds.
I’m new to the loc community. I’m six months in with DIY micro locks. I have around 230 locks. I never thought I would get locs because at one time they weren’t “feminine” enough for me. Then I did a sister loc crochet on myself and it was gorgeous. I got compliments from everyone even my sisters with real locs. I researched and researched and decided I would do sister locs but since I do my own hair I went with the microlocs. I am loving them some days and other days I’m unsure but I don’t think I’ll take them out. Just trying to find different styles as I’m used to changing my hair styles every other week!!!!

Definitely keep them! You already started so you might as well keep going
Yes they are I'm on my 4th set which are microlocs...I did every size with each journey to decide what size I wanted. Sisterlocks were too small for me micros seemed the right way to go 😊

They’re honestly so pretty
Hello, I agree with you that all locs are beautiful, but I don’t really find microlocs to be time consuming or high maintenance. The beautiful thing about interlocking, is that it happens once every 4-6 weeks for most and that’s it. The hair is locked in until the next retie. You can wash, swim, etc and the roots will not unravel. I view it as saving time, but I only have 240 Microlocs so everything is quick. N-E-who, TFS!
Omg I couldn't imagine having over at the most 70 locs lol (currently have around 50) I love the look tho 😍

Same! I have 44 😂 like she said we can look alil more “intense” but small loc maintenance seems intense af!! 🫣
I have traditional locs and I'm almost 3 years loc but I am obsessed with micro locs. I love how versatile they are and how its almost like have still having loose natural hair. Half the time I get caught up in the videos and want to comb my loca out and start with micro locs But then I see the install and the maintenance process and I'm like oh hell no.
I’m from California and noticed people were getting micro and starter because they are easier for them people to digest. I’m in Texas and see a lot more women with thicker, natural Locs because natural is more accepted here
I love microlocs actually, would I comb out my locs to do microlocs no! Had I had the information I have about them now I would have done it. But I see the Versatility of them, but none the less I love them.😊 and I love my locs more
