I was pretty worried about the graphics update with the first benchmark. Honestly, the lighting really did make the models look pretty bad. But after this update, all my worries are gone. It looks soo good.

Viera women really are the perfect species.

Looks so much better imo, dark skin characters are feasting right now loving how great character looks

Miqo' main here. Actually the unnatural neon bright eyes where the only thing I disliked about them before. I adore this change. No mald here. Maybe now G'raha's Allagan eye(s) will actually look a little bit more like Unei and Doga's ACTUAL Allagan eyes, rather than looking like the LEDs on my router when the internet drops :V

They got the fog in the benchmark, now the 3d space in the map can be felt. My femra 4 also got tweaked. look far nicer than before -cheek got fuller -the corner of the lips got smoothen. Not too indent/concave -the eyelids got the current live expression than benchmark 1.0. -nose shape also got tweaked. I'm satisfied with the current my femra face 4.

I was just so grateful as a lala to get my dark nose back (bc it was near invisible on dark skin) and she had her lips!!! This benchmark was insanely better

I really hope this graphical update brings in more Elezen players, especially Duskwights.

I do wonder if people with unique models get this upgrade too or will be end up with same problem as WoW has where some characters have inferior looking models as they had good looking unique models before playable models got updated and as such got left behind.

one thing that makes it a tiny bit harder for direct comparison on a stream/vid, is that whenever she tabs back into the updated, it's at a lower bitrate visually than the live. Probably cuz of the extra detail in foliage behind, but it's super noticeable lol

the amount of people who don't know that our skin and hair looks different in lightings, and bounces light off of it (which the update does) is insane

Like my resub said, I changed to bun until Dawntrail and will choose between that and my original Au Ra to continue the journey. 💜 love seeing all the updates!

The Midlanders look almost real compared to a "cartoonish" version.

I'm not a big fan of how my limbal rings look now but the eyes under them are a lot prettier. I don't think I'll need a fantasia just the aesthetician.

Overall I think this looks so much better than the previous benchmark. My main issue is still just weird lips. Like they don't have enough depth and contrast, and they've lost some of their unique quirks, esp on fem Viera and Au Ra. The rest is great, though, and hopefully they will still make a few changes to the models over the next few months.

Has Zepla ever played any Ff games aside from FF14? I know a lot of FF14 players haven’t experienced anything else so I’m just curious.

The male human faces tend to look like Kpop band members, we need more scruff! We need wider jaws and chins Honestly, what I want the most is Elezen heads on Midlander/Viera bodies.

I do feel like the eyes got a bit darker. I prefer the brighter anime eyes, but overall, they've fixed almost all of my complaints about the first benchmark. ...Except face paint. Face paint still looks like ass.

I think they did a great job of upgrading the system and lighting without getting into the Pandora's Box of trying to suit everyone's preferences. There are people who still prefer the slightly scuffed 1.0 to current FFXIV. You know there are people who will prefer the old looks, even if they're scuffed by comparison to the new. The only "solution," such that it is one, would be doing something like WoW did and allow people to toggle off the new and go with the old scuffed.

Some of the FFXIV community whines and complains about content without even trying it and it is tiring. "Try it before you judge it," is NOT new. Some of you act like it is. Please start thinking for yourselves, you can tell them apart just the way the describe AAR, all the same exact words are used, "It gets better." Try to think of your own words to describe stuff. But nope, some will continue to whine and cry about content they have not even tried out yet.

@@ProjectFraz Wow not one orginal thought in that or any symbolism of your opinion. Here is my opinion ARR is world building and trys to break down the basics as if FFXIV is someon's first MMO. It has the basic bones of most mmos which allows for content and story development. But you all can stick with "It gets better," and foster people to go with other's opinions without trying content. Sad times when someone has to be told multiple times to try something before judging it. Then act like it is a new concept.

I agree with you in the original post about so many complainers not even trying stuff and finding out for themselves and just repeating what they think gets them likes, but there is no need to go into a full synopsis every time. Sometimes people just agree. Arr gets better. I don't need to explain why. Just play it and find out. The biggest problem is that it doesn't start out good enough to keep a newcomers attention long enough to get to the good parts.

I spent some time on the benchmark character creation. I feel both eyes and hair are too dark generally.

You skipped male Highlander :( I know they are ugly but did they deserve to be skipped.
