It's going through a lot of construction right now so it could have a lot of development in the next few years. Rio Rancho is a decent place. There's some houses for cheap on that side but you get what you pay for. I'd invest a bit more for a better quality build house in my opinion. If you wanna be right in the middle of the city I would stick to places not too high on the mountains since like he was explaining, it gets crazy expensive. So just below that area really.

Agree I live near the petroglyphs at taylor ranch. One of the last good pockets in town. But you only have to go a little north to Unser and paradise before things rapidly turn to crap. Also just south of me at montano/kachina and moving south it progressively turns to crap again. Mostly property crimes but increasingly see more homicides on the west side now. Allot of police have homes on the west side so that should say something. Really really bad leadership in the state. The Gov and mayor's catch and release policy is a failure. Instead of coddling these scum bags they need to install stiff deterrents. Its frustrating.

Nob Hill has been revitalized and has a lot of condos to attract 'the creative class'. Lots of restaurants and bars. The Ridgecrest neighborhood is very nice and has shady streets and is close by, but those houses are hardly ever for sale. Nob Hill is expensive for renting or buying because it's close to UNM. No supermarket, but they have an expensive co-op. It's kind of like living near Brown, but a little fake because it's so new. They're trying to build up their vibe. They're going off the Route 66 nostalgia. It's working somewhat.

Kansas City is actually the scary place. It’s like Albuquerque times seven was born in Albuquerque but I spent a few years in Kansas City among other places, and let me tell you the amount of times I was chased down the street by people and dogs the amount of large holes in the road that I fell into The amount of literal sticks of TNT, catapulted into the air, only to explode above my apartment complex by the neighbors was unparalleled in Kansas City. In Kansas City on the Missouri side, a man literally pursued me all the way to the police station for the cops to then tell me that he must’ve just thought I was his friends. The party times in Kansas City can be great but living there was an absolute nightmare. I’d rather stay on Central and juantabo , then Troost and Harrison any day

Albuquerque is one great big beautiful ghetto - I don't care where or what side of town you live in - it's all ghetto. That being said, I do love it here. A few caveats: don't move here if you have elementary school age children, this state is seriously behind by like 2 or 3 grade levels. Be on guard and aware of your surroundings at all times. Rent at first to get a feel for the neighborhood & quadrant at large. When you do decide to buy, consider an HOA community, unless you like run-down looking houses surrounded by weeds & vehicles parked on the landscaping looking all like Sanford & Son. So true about the grocery store & the quality of neighborhood - we drive 15 miles across town just to avoid the Smith's & Albertson's stores 4 miles away - like night & day (btw Walmart is ghetto everywhere in this city) When we first moved here from the East Coast, I was telling my boss & co-workers where the house was we moved into, she said "yOu liKE iT tHeRe?!?" - eventually we purchased a house not far from there. Had I known a few of the things I know now, not sure I would have moved here 15 years ago but on the other hand, we have no regrets moving here - IT'S ALL WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT. I love Albuquerque and miss it dearly, but I do not miss the crime rates. The local government has failed so many vulnerable and at risk people. One of my personal horror stories is my principal at my elementary school found out her husband-a principal at the adjacent high school-was having an affair so she tried to run him over with her truck and constantly harassed and threatened the secretary he was having the affair with. She wasn’t fired for this, but a few years later she was fired for posting pictures of herself drinking at a party. Priorities, I guess

After working some years in law enforcement in one of America's largest departments, I decided I needed a change. I decided to move, and I did not choose Albuquerque. I avoided Albuquerque because I am a native of the city, and even in my grandfather's day (he graduated from Albuquerque High School in the 30's), crime and violence were major problems. Where could I go which was modern, safe, clean, where I could find a decent job, and which had a low cost of living? I chose Tokyo, Japan. Zero crime, zero drugs, zero violence, almost zero homelessness. The food is good here (Tokyo has more Michelin Star restaurants than the entire United States combined), there are mountains, beaches, rivers, subtropical islands, just amazing natural beauty. The infrastructure is modern, public transportation is efficient, cheap, and safe, the people are friendly, and the society is not polarized or divided socially or politically. It's a great place to live. I visit Albuquerque on occasion, there are a few things I like about it, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Cop literally saved my property that night. If I was a criminal I'd hate cops too. So if more and more people hate the people shooting criminals and upholding the law then it's proof there are becoming more criminals than non. Every city has great safe areas but that place is questionable if they even exist. Feel sorry for the police there. Btw the cop told me he's got 1 year till retirement and he hopes he makes it. I'm sorry to say that Albuquerque is even dangerous for people living honest lives. A few years ago a man followed me with a gun while driving, it's by the grace of God that I didn't become a statistic in 2019. A few weeks ago, I observed a smash and grab operation with roughly 30 people at the Kohl's at Coronado mall- DO NOT go there at night! And just last night as I was thinking that I lived in the most quiet safe street in the city, I woke up to 50 gun shots across the street from my house at midnight. The cops blocked off our entire street, saw blood and broken glass on the ground. Apparently there was a scuffle across the street, a car broken into and stolen, and gun shots probably used to scare the other person off. I've been planning on leaving Albuquerque for months even though I was born and raised here and my entire family lives here, and this just solidified my decision. I really do pray things change for Albuquerque.

Sorry but why dont you interview the people actually in the poor community youre honestly you’re hardly talking about dangerous things you should make a video inside the inner communities and see the difference. If you’re scared take a guard or something. Thank you for your videos though you showed me things about Albuquerque I never knew about and I lived here since I was 8 I’m 23 now!
