I don't buy vinyl releases due to cost Bought the cd. Really good. Like others have commented why didn't they put the 7" singles on ? Paid just under £20 inc P&p from MPL, so not cheap as 2nd disc only has a runtime of 38 minutes !!! Cd buyers are highly unlikely to ever buy the vinyl package just to get the extra tracks on a 45rpm vinyl single so should have inc them.

Yeah, vinyl prices are a con at the moment. Those extra tracks should have been on the CD. I can’t believe the runtime of that second disc!! 😯

It’s what I’ve been waiting for! How much energy they have! Only downside is, I now want him him to play Wild Life on stage again even more than I did before listing to this version 🎉

A lovely album. Very relaxing to listen to.

Great Album .Bought both Vinyl+7" & CD .

Am really loving this release, had no idea some of these songs went this far back, like I'll Give You a Ring. I would have loved the Backyard sessions, but I'm a CD guy and I guess they couldn't be bothered to put them on the CD release. Still happy with the main release though.

Great video Creedo glad you like it I listened to it on Apple tunes today I thought it was amazing you could sense a band on top of its game I loved the versions of My love and Bluebird, I’m on holiday at the moment but when I get back,I’m,going to buy the vinyl with the EP version, like you I can’t understand why you wouldn’t for the sake of 4 quid.

Hello Diner with!! Great video lol, I find the joy in your videos!!! I have slowly been listing it this weekend through the streaming service. Next week I’ll buy it but not the version with the EP sadly I really wish the backyard sessions were included on the cd or at least the streaming service. I’m going to support the local record store so No MPL website this time. I am much more excited and looking forward to a “NEW” record release this year from Paul. Take care enjoy the album!!!

I bought the CD set….passed on the vinyl since it’s digitally mastered and didn’t feel like paying for incomplete Backyard recordings that have been “available” complete for decades.

I like the full band songs the best.

I had a problem with my copy and it was due to the packaging. The inner sleeves are a beautiful design, but there is no poly liner. As a result there were paper bits stuck to side 3 which were impossible to remove and caused audible clicks. I had to send the whole thing back to get it replaced, even though I suggested just sending back the faulty vinyl which they could replace. Not quite as ecologically friendly as they could have been. I also have an issue with the sleeve not being a gatefold. If you've got two LPs the cover should have two distinct slots for them. I do think the cover will suffer over time as a result of this. That's the bad bits, fortunately the good bits do outweigh this as they are the black discs of music. This release is the best thing to come out of MPL for some time. Vastly superior to the Band On The Run reissue and light years ahead of McCartney III / McCartney III Imagined / McCartney (lets make loads of different coloured vinyls to squeeze that extra little bit out of the fans) III.

Sorry to hear you had a faulty copy. Glad you got it sorted though. Yeah, it would’ve been nice as a gatefold, but I’m not too fussed about it. The whole package was quite cheap (£) by today’s standards. Just happy for that.

@@dinnerwithgreedo I agree it is reasonably priced and it's cheaper on McCartney's site than it is on Amazon too. To be fair, the store support guy was really helpful and kept me well informed with multiple emails notifying me of the status of my return.

Thanks for your review Greedo. I too loved it, with one or two minor niggles. The packaging was unnecessarily bare bones and the leaflet/poster hardly worth having. There are also a couple of tracks I could do without but everyone's different. When it comes to the music there are some stand out versions on this and top of the shop for me (we seem to differ here?) is "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five" which really rocks. Special menshes for Sally G, Tomorrow and Wildlife. It's a keeper.

Why I wouldn't be buying this album on vinyl? I don't have a working turntable . I collect cds only since the '80s. Sort of pisses me off they don't include the 6 songs from the EP on the cd.

I didn’t mean why wouldn’t you be buying it on vinyl. I meant if you’re buying it on vinyl, why would you go for the two disc version (over the one with the EP). But yes, it should have been included on the CD. The McCartney camp always does one thing to piss people off. 🙄

An EP with bits of songs, what's the interest? I've heard the complete "backyard tape" and that's enouhg for me.

It’s a shame the EP wasn’t included on the vinyl album and CD but I suppose it’s down to money / marketing. I really like the release and especially the slower version of Tomorrow .This idea of a different musical arrangement I think should have been used on the Beatle songs on the Give My Regards To Broadstreet giving old songs a refresh .Having heard the drumming on the Band On The Run tracks makes me think Mccartney should have waited until he had a drummer before recording the album.

the ploblem with this most of it as already come out before i dont find a very exciting release

This sounds so much better than what has previously been released (officially and unofficially). It’s the remix that makes this worth a listen at the very least.

Have only listened to it on Apple Music, won’t be getting it on physical media. It is ok but can’t see it as something that will get repeat listens.

Unfortunately, because I love McCartney so much, I have to buy the physical media, it’s part of the disease. That said I didn’t buy the Underdubbed mixes of Band On The Run. I’m not a complete mug. 😉

@@dinnerwithgreedo With the exception of 1985, I prefer all the proper studio recordings. I really was excited about buying it but then suddenly was like do I really want this. I went for the new Bowie Boxset instead and I am glad I did. One hand clapping seems like something I would by listen to once and put it on the shelf. How is the vinyl quality? I hate the fact they just threw it in the scratch prone sleeves.

I like the holes in the sleeves BUT yeah… I’ve put them in protective sleeves now. Obviously the album versions are gonna be better but that’s not what this is trying to achieve. They’re live versions (essentially). Sessions. I’ll definitely be listening to it again (probably just the hits though to be honest). My Love sounds great in this.

Thanks for the review. I think I’m getting my copy tomorrow for Father’s Day. You’re right about Suicide. He sings it at the piano on the One Hand Clapping DVD that was included in the BOTR Archive Box.

Yes, you are right, this is missing "Suicide" and I assume it's because there are humourless people who would be triggered or offended. Def Leppard's drummer hasn't been reached yet for comment on the album title.

Thanks. I just checked and yes, us Brits tend to say mOOg coz of the double O. When you typed Mog, to my Brit eyes that would rhyme with Tog, Log etc… So, hopefully the way I’ll remember it going forward will be to say it like MODE.
