Yep. Very poor resale value unless it's attached to a big brand name. Stick to silver and gold..the high gold content one not the lower variety that one can find in some UK high street shops. Even then they're still pricey imo.

The rarest diamond among diamonds is a red one, which is formed by a unique change in the carbon. To make a red diamond in the lab, you just have to get lucky. REALLY lucky. In fact, you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning 40 times and surviving and being 100 precent correct on a 400 page question sheet. While just guessing.

​@gliocz you are correct about red diamonds. Pink and purple ones too. These get their colour due to plastic deformation of their crystal lattice and so not possible yet to manufacture. I am a certified gemmologist and diamond grader by the gemmological association of Great Britain Hatton Garden. I no longer work in this field. I was talking about the regular white diamond engagement ring here or fancy coloured diamond. Blue/ boron, green and some blue/irradiated, yellow/ nitrogen, black/ overtly irradiated. AND I STILL MAINTAIN THAT NATURAL DIAMONDS ARE UNETHICAL AND THAT LAB GROWN PROVIDED THEY ARE NOT PRODUCED IN ISRAEL " ARE KOSHER "😊 SHALOM BROTHER.

"Africa" is not suffering. Most of the countries suffering are the former French, Portuguese, and Belgian colonies, Saharan countries, and the countries of the return movements (Sierra Leone, Liberia). The former English colonies are fine.

I remember watching a documentary on Conflict Diamonds back in 2005ish and the majority of the diamond dealers were israelis who were using proceeds of the diamond sales to build settlements in West Bank.

Israel has zero diamonds. So those diamonds are coming from….drum roll…Africa!
