However, it is also true that the relation discussed before is bijective.... So it must have an inverse. If the new number is not a part of the set at all it will not have an inverse. So, can we really apply this method for the hotel problem? Correct me if I'm wrong but.... Aren't the integers supposed to represent the hotel rooms? So if there is no hotel room for this particular number generated, how can we accommodate new guest?
