Honestly I'm looking as in the price point for the non-standing version almost everything you find online has a 2 or 3 piece desktop for anything over 48 inches (122cm), which seems to be a really standard practice. So being able to pick up a 63-64 inch (162.5cm) wide desk that is one solid piece is very very appealing to me.

And it comes with adjustable leg height to boot. Agreed that it's really value!

Nice colorful and comfy gaming chair

I just got a huvudspelare 2 days ago and it’s actually comfy for me at least. I am short so it’s perfect for my head. I like it so far though it does take a bit to break in the wheels, they come super stiff and pretty much unable to roll but now I can kinda glide. I’m going to give it a couple more days and I might edit it on progress

Thank you for sharing. Perhaps it works better for people with a smaller frame. Besides my head, my shoulders were also hitting the sides. It's nice to hear that it works well for you, do share more when you've had more time with it!

@@alaafouda7692 if you aren’t super tall I guess get it. It is cheaper for a gaming chair. It has nice support and is overall comfortable. The only downside is the lack of movable wristrests

Thank you! If you're not looking for a standing desk, you can always opt for an Ikea countertop (Karlby is the most popular) and pair it with some Ikea legs. I use this for my main setup. You could even get the Ikea counter top and standing table legs seperately which may be cheaper than getting a standing desk on its own. All the best with your table hunt!

Iam considering the IDASEN desk for its robust looks, but the utespelare seems half the price with better cable management

Thank you so much! I try to put in a joke or two into every video but I'd never thought someone would point in out.

I brought an utespleare desk last month and a Matchspel gaming chair a few days ago. I think they are both great for gaming. The only negative I have with the Matchspel chair is that you have to really lower it to sit nicely by the desk, which can be very uncomfortable without having a wrist rest, and also forces you to sit with your arms in a very awkward position. Despite this, I still think both are really good gaming items as the Utespleare desk provides plenty of room for massive setups, and the Matchspel is great for a chair. I still do not believe the chair is worth the £150 price tag here in the UK.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Seems like the lack of height adjustable arm rests could make sitting ergonomically tricky. Glad you're still generally happy with your purchase!

Bought a Matchspel (White) from IKEA Singapore and it was defective. The mesh backing was soft enough that the metal bar presses against your spine when you lean back with any force at all. Hoping for an ethical response from IKEA Singapore that sold a defective product.

Ohman I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience. Definitely wasn't my experience when I tried the matchspel (but for a very short time). I hope you get a positive response from Ikea!

My husband’s Uppsel’s motor/controls broke just after a few months. So disappointing since the quality isn’t as good as it looks. The table is easily ruined when you put your cold/wet drinks on it. Such a dust magnet as well. IKEA is willing to refund but we have to bring the table to the store. Bummer Also, it’s a lot noisier compare to my Flexispot sit-stand desk with a single motor.

@@thejxfiles i ended up getting the cabinet. i put the glass shelves all on one side then used some of their hanger hooks to moount my consoles nicely at an angle on the open side.

Hey Reuben, thank you for watching! The mesh backing on the UTESPELARE is not really designed to be removable. [Edit, thanks to Allen's comment below] Though you can technically not mount it if you don't want it, you will have the extra metal bars for the underframe sticking out at the back. it's literally IKEA... if you don't want it then you dont have to mount it.

@@xShteff You're right, you can choose to not mount it. There'd be a gap with the extra metal frame from the legs at the back, but if you're ok with that or want to mount something else at the back there's room to play around with it.

Can you take the desk off the leg the uppspel comes with??? You might be wondering why not just buy the legs only, Well I live in CA and they are selling the standing desk + the chairs + the drawer in a bundle, was going to take the desk off and the Karlby from ikea.

It should work, cos the uppspel should come disassembled and you'd be required to attach the table top. I've recently read some negative reviews of the desk legs though you might want to research other standing desk legs available in your region, unless the bundle deal is too good to pass up.

​@@alexzander7143 Look up the r/standingdesk subreddit and search for 'Uppspel' to see wha people are saying about it. Some are saying it's stable enough, others are saying it's still a little wobbly at max height, and legs like the Idasen are more stable. The Idasen however doesn't have any memory function. The commenter before you, babie*desk also shared her less than stellar experience, but it might just be an issue with her unit. If you're able to I'd highly recommend you go down to the store to try them out and not just take the word of people on the internet (including my own), nothing beats your own personal experience!

Hey! I'm quoting Ikea's website under the product description -www.ikea.com/us/en/p/utespelare-gaming-desk-black-80507627/ "The metal mesh at the back of the desk allows air through that cools your PC and is so sturdy that you can even clamp a pair of monitor arms to it." So according to IKEA yes you can. And from what I've seen it looks like solid metal so I'm inclined to believe them. Hope this helps!

It's actually two rectangular metal bars, one on top of the other. The lower one is part of the main frame and larger, the upper is smaller and framing the mesh. You technically can remove the mesh part and replace it with some board, worst case.

Hi, I have a dual 27" monitor setup but I'm looking to put my pc on the same desk instead of placing it below or on a separate drawer unit. Is the Ikea Utespelare wide enough? Appreciate any help, thanks!

This was filmed when there was still a mask mandate here in Singapore. Actually there still is 😷.

ALL chairs by Ikea are trash. Gaming or not. There are cheaper better ergonomic chairs.
