--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For all of us who have been living with health anxiety for a long time I can almost guarantee that you were worried about more than one single health scare. Heart attacks, Strokes, ALS, Lyme disease, Brain Tumors and all kinds of cancers are just a few of the worries many of us must deal with.
It kind of feels like that we have just started to learn and accept one anxiety sensation but immediately dig ourselves into a new hole, a new health worry. We get every possible medical test done, search up symptoms on google, join anxiety and panic forums, read medical journals and then one day we kind of naturally start to wonder if a real physical illness is a possibility here. We start to accept that the heart for example is probably fine but then we dig deeper and search for other scenarios other medical conditions that our sensations could represent. With the help of Dr. Google we begin our search always finding terrifying articles and stories. Mentally we create a kind of checklist of symptoms that would further confirm our worries. Equipped with that mental checklist of physical symptoms we subconsciously begin scanning our bodies. And guess what? We will always find them! It is just the way anxiety works. Our high stress levels keep us in fight or flight mode around the clock, we are sensitized to everything happening around and within us. Our muscles are tensed and that muscle tension is not only uncomfortable or even painful but is the reason for a multitude of other physical anxiety symptoms such as: Tension headaches, Blurry vision, Migraines, Numbness, Tingling, Stabbing and shooting pains, just to name a few. Basically it is our whole body that feels kind of off… With an body that is completely out of tune it is no wonder that we will always find something that will resemble a specific health scare. Lets say you worry about stroke and now are on the lookout for headaches, numbness, slurred speech, visual disturbances, weakness in your limbs and so on…. Anxiety can create all of these and probably will create all of them only because you are mentally waiting for them to happen. Don’t forget your whole body feels off and even the tiniest anomaly will be mentally blown up completely out or proportion.
In this video I will explain why seeking reassurance or why simple stress coping mechanisms do not work for long term recovery and explain my recovery process in more detail.

I had a few health issues this past few months and it brought anxiety & depression. I'll say depression bc i really cant normally think positively like myself just like bfore like for just even an hour i couldnt see optimism. I feel like i really need to do something for myself and i dont know where to start 😞 and now this gave me sign that i just really need to calm myself down and help myself.

It's so hard to recover cuz all the symptoms! I love ur channel. Im 21 and ive been though so many tests. I get my holter test back tmrw and the nurse told me on the phone that nothing too concerning was found, my doc just wants to go over it with me. Logic would say they captuted some skipped beats like pvc and he wants to reassure me im fine. But i feel like they're lying to me to keep me calm cuz im one more angina attack away from it being an actual heart attack. I had an echo and it was fine and logic would say having cad would be super unlikely at 21 but still...

I can so relate to this worry. I too had a couple of holter tests done and would always be asked to come in and visit the doctor again. It normally just about explaining the results and the doctor may ask what you have been doing at some point in time where results may seem a little high/low.

Love ur videos. What are your thoughts on "relapse" to make the person at ease? I asked someone and he says this puts people at ease....the "BBBB". BBBB= if it's not bleeding, broken, bruised or bump then dont worry about it so much. What do u think about this since every sufferer think a symptom is a tumor etc. I know my friend has 20k in debt for medical and he has anxiety.

Because i am not a doctor its difficult for me to say somehting in that regard ;-) but i can tell you that from my own personal experience i kind of agree with him. When i started to recover i would always find something that felt weird, looked weird or even hurt. I resisted the urge to get it checked out. Ive been tested for everything else like at least 20 times so in my mind i thought to myself "i am fine if not well then i couldnt have done more than i already did". I believe this or a similar approach will be needed to finally get out of that vicious spiral. Someone with health anxiety will always find something to obsess about.

I had that same heart issue, when I was sitting doing nothing my heart would jump to 150 or higher for no reason, it can be all sorts of things, for me I was on birth control and the hormones were causing an imbalance, I did have to get a beta blocker to help. I have horrible health anxiety and cardiophobia, it’s been over a year and every day I struggle . I was in the hospital for 3 days doing all kinds of heart test, they all were normal. But it’s just a mix of anything, not eating proper food, anxiety, stress, hormones, all depends on everything.

Potato Cake yes, when your stress is constantly elevated you can get chronic symptoms, and until you deal with permanently lowering you stress, symptoms can vary. Sooooo many symptoms.

Potato Cake I’m not a doctor so if you have never been checked out before it’s not a bad idea, but I can speak from anxiety and stress/tension can make everything tight. Also if your stressed you do shallow breathing, when you take a big breath in, it can Almost feel as if your chest is stretching in a painful way. Trust me, if you have chronic stress/anxiety, it can cause thousands of symptoms. Let me ask this.... when your busy/occupied that requires your full attention do you notice your symptoms as bad?

This is me to a tee only I could add more. There is also one big difference -- I don't "worry." The symptoms are just there. As such, I can't stop worrying if I am not worrying. Does that make sense? And I'm not "overthinking" anything as you described. Have you ever noticed that same phenomenon? -- that the painful symptoms are just there yet you are not worrying about anything that you know of? I would be curious to know what you DO worry about. What are you "overthinking?" Maybe I DO worry yet don't even know it.
