Terrific review, spot-on. I like leather better than PU, but I'd rather spend the cost difference on another watch--I'm not a Rolex or Patek collector. I have the Mirage 3-watch PU leather roll, used for travel and storage; and after 2 years, it still looks brand new. No worries about maintaining or treating leather and nicely meets the definition of "affordable".
Great review! You talked me into it. I just used your link to buy the 4 slot full grain leather watch roll.
Safe travels….These look pretty good. I might need to give them a try.
Thanks for this. Good info here.
I bought a 3 slot PU case from Ali-X over a year ago for about $25 , unbranded and fantastic so would never pay these kind of silly prices
I’m happy with the Hemel full grain watch roll I just bought for $70 smells and looks great.
Good review Dave. I have the PU leather and I think it’s great. It’s cheap but works well, I don’t see the point in spending £200 on a roll that you will use only a few times a year. PU is also Vegan friendly too. You forget that they also come with a cloth sleeve which also protects the roll.
Watch out for the hide & drink watch roll it’s well made, it’s real leather and very good price 👌🏻
bro~thank you! very good . 💫
Boderry just came out with a new bronze watch and I would love a review. I personally love the look but haven’t bought one yet.
Got the PU leather since 2 years pecfect conditon
Hi Dave. Thanks for the review, I’ll pick one of these up as I’ve run out of room in my other boxes! Can I ask what brand the tank watch is in one of the boxes? Was looking for a dress watch and that style might suit well. If you could let me know? Keep the videos coming they are great. Thanks Ben
These are very easy to make, and are a great beginners project for an aspiring leatherworker. Including tools, you can make this at home with full-grain Horween Dublin or Essex for roughly $200 (I recommend Dublin in the color "English Tan").

Where do you buy leather?
Awesome gold Casio! I have the same one :) Do you know any company that makes straps or bracelets which work with these since the strap itself is actually larger than the lug width?
As much as I like real leather, I think I'm still pretty largely in the PU camp. Sure, if money were no object, I'd go full leather all the time, but when that extra cost can go to another watch, better strap/bracelet, etc I find it hard to justify. Also since I use a watchbox, a roll would only be for travel, and then there's something to be said for using cheap-looking covers/containers to hide the expensive things inside (much like how I use a really cheap looking motorcycle cover to hide my bike).
I have a smaller wrist. I’m not sure if the pillow is too big for the size of my wrist watch. For example, Will a Hamilton Khaki Field 38mm Leather Strap will fit on the pillow?
Hey dave! Do you have any watch websites or forums to recommend to discuss about watches in Japan? Local websites. Also, do you know any companies who do local watch straps in Tokyo/Yokohama area? Thanks!
PU leather isn't worth it, it's genuine leather covered in plastic... At that point get a fully synthetic case like nylon or something like that.

NO! it isn't 'leather covered in plastic'. It is fully polyurethane - a wholly synthetic material.
Innecesario totalmente
Everyone has 2 wrists. Just wear two watches and you are set. No need to keep all that junk travel cases and add extra weight and space to your traveling bags.
Let's just dispel misconceptions: "pu leather" is NOT leather; It is Polyurethane. "Leather" IS leather and is made from animal hide. We used to call "pu leather" vinyl or naugahide or leatherette or whatever trade or brand name. While it IS NOT made from a natural material it can be remarkably useful and durable.

Full grain leather all day I am sorry but Pu look and feel cheap no life to it. Full grain changes over time it has a shine a luster a look that says wow that nice leather. A case is a case but a leather shows character with time.
I'd rather spend the $200 towards another watch ... maybe when I have enough watches over $200 then i would get a $200 watch case/roll. I have two watch cases and three watch boxes (All PU) had them all for 5+ years and have had no issues. Looking through the comments it seems like opinion is split. If the costs were the same I am sure almost everyone would say leather ... but the costs aren't the same.
Never buy PU leather products for watch storage. I have a watch box I bought about ten years ago and the PU leather started breaking down at about year four And started sticking to the watches try cleaning PU leather off of real leather some time Buy real leather once and don't regret it
Just my 2 cents - the leather industry is pretty terrible. Worth looking up if you want.
PU Leather = absolute trash, it's like a fashion watch: it pretends to be luxurious but it's just plastic. Also did you say that the internal spacers feel like wood? How much does the whole thing weigh? That makes it sound like not useful at all for travel. On the Full Grain leather one. If it's just for travel (so it's expected to be stored in luggage or a bag 24/7) I don't think it requires waterproofing, why would you get the contents of your travel luggage soaked? Your watches will also have some degree of water proofing. If they're in a watch case which is in some sort of bigger bag, getting water damage means you threw the whole thing in a pond or something. Anyway FG leather can be waterproofed easily, it's not suede. There are permanent (basically) treatments, like those used in leather bags and leather jackets, as well as temporary treatments (usually applied to formal boots and shoes). The price seems ok-ish even tho now some microbrands give you watch rolls or other travel cases for free with their watches, so I'm not really sure who's supposed to buy this
Oh no another sell out giving advertising for free stuff. If you keep your collection low cost surely you should keep your storage the same and not try to lever expensive stuff in just so you can get it free. Very poor effort.
