Well, he for most part just AWD swaps everything, and adds parts at random until points level with class limit. This is like, baby's first "quick and dirty" seasonal tune.

There are plenty of good tunes, just keep an eye on the best tuners. The point is that it is impossible to create the perfect tune, which will extract 100% of the car's performance, that will never happen.

Lately started out using same numbers for different categories and changing them with +/-10 steps at a time. And if things get worse just back 'em 5 steps, 3-2-1 until dialed in for my style of driving. Been doing heaps of surprise to my own tuning lately. 😎👍 /DBB

Nice video! Just a comment, with all my respect for all FH5 players, tuners, content creators: this is not first time I read or hear about those "garbage tuners", "terrible tuners", and so on. I can understand the reasons for that opinion about them, and I really appreciate being warned about the topic. I have no interest in defending them, but from my point of view, mentioning it so openly in public sites is unnecesssary, maybe avoidable.

It's better to read or watch videos tuning guides and slowly develop your own tunes based on that. Imo the best one is the one that Sepi made, it has given me the best results when racing online, which is really competitive. From there on, you can tweak your own tunes: /watch?v=kVfBJu580Sw&list=PLwWYv3CDspEylAhSEegsR3N_gAr059X7x The video description also has a Spreadsheet with even further details on how to correctly tune most of the cars.

I used this app for FH4 tunes to get a nice starting point from which to develop the tune further and the results were working. However when I moved over to FH5, I noticed that it gave much the same results as FH4 did, despite FH5 having a different handling model than FH4. Still, I used it thinking that I'd get a good starting point, not knowing that it's actually a lot worse than the default tunes. Certainly disappointing, but at least I know that from now on.

I feel the app is very helpful at least for forza motorsport 7. I feel like people's driving style has a big part to play in how the app works for different people.

I see @ForzaTune commenting a lot and defending. Instead of all this back and forth, why don't we have @SP4 and the maker of ForzaTune make 4 builds for 4 cars for the 4 different racing disciplines and use them on 4 different tracks. Test them and also release those tunes to the public as well to avoid any potential accusations of bias from testers. If the maker of ForzaTune is claiming his app is merely starting point, then let him finish each tune personally and judge that. If @ForzaTune still loses, that should be irrefutable evidence that the very foundation of the app doesn't work in FH5.

Unpopular opinion: with the exception of some extremes, tuning is really just a personal preference. Sure, you can tune your car to be statistically faster, but that speed won't mean anything if the rest of the tune doesn't support your driving style personally. Maybe you're a little aggressive with your cornering. The tune that's going to get YOU the fastest lap times is not going to help the dude with excellent control in cornering. They'd likely want their tune to give them more speed on straights. Oversimplified, tuning is really just compensating for where any given driver needs some extra help. And as your skill as a driver increases, your preferred tuning might change. That's probably why so many people report good luck with forzatune and others say it isn't helpful at all. A lot of racers are more on the casual side of things. So even a base level tune might help the shave some time off of their laps. Meanwhile, people who are really into tuning, would mark a base tune as inefficient because not only are they use to custom tuning, but also because their skill cap is higher. Meaning they need their tuning to do different things.

Great video, thanks for taking the time to check the app out and test it. Would you also be willing to make videos on se of the other tuning apps like "Tune It Yourself" and "Quicktune H5"? Would be greatly appreciated, curious to hear your thoughts in those.

what i will say about forzatune i bought it just to give it a try and maybe ide learn something. First things first if you messed up your car in the upgrades section then you can only polish a turd so much. I used forzatune as a base tune with great success the cars handle like a dream but now that i have learned about some of the mistakes i was making in my own tuning i have improved on forzatunes and now i dont use the app unless im feeling lazy and want a quick base tune. It doesnt hit the nail on the head every time but damn close usually only need minute changes based on driving preference. I will say pick the right tire compound for your class and use a square tire setup (even width all around) upgrade all suspension components. Forzatune will accommodate a setup like that because its not anticipating all the understeer created from wide rear tires.

Glad to hear your working on a new guide. Used your other one and shaved ungodly amounts of time off my lap times in multiple classes.

Abit late to the party but i use this app and it is actually pretty good for a basetune. Why would you just keep the tune it gives you, it even says to play with it abit. For me i always got frustrated with the suspension setting and this has honestly helped alot… plus everyone drives differently….so imo there isnt any good tunes. I’ve downloaded a few tunes from “Top tuners” but honestly they suck but thats only because i drive different to them….. its a tool not a savior 😂

Is it possible for any of you to share the tunes that you created in this video or any other ones for some S1 Car builds and you deemed them good/competitive, so we neewbies can get a reference to how a car "should" feel, at least according to you guys... This is something Im kinda struggling with, probably not the only one. I started following recently since I decided to dig into FH5 racing and tuning, and I'm very impressed by your dedication to the game. Keep up the good work, and I hope they lift that suss ban... @@Splashie97 since my original post I've tried some more of his tunes. Some are tough to drive and I don't have the patience but others are more balanced while being only a little challenging. I prefer RWD so it's nice to a find fast well balanced rwd tune. A lot of tuners go over the top with the oversteer during cornering as if all rwd drive cars are an oversteery mess which just isn't the case. I partly blame the devs for doing such a poor job in the first place with their 2wd physics which leads a lot of people to gravitate towards AWD which shouldn't even be needed until S2 class maybe high S1.

The car you ran was the 2012 gt2 but the car in the app said 1995 gt2. The app still sucks but did you guys maybe enter the wrong car for the first test? Edit: Nvm I see the note at the top of the screen

interesting. i use forzatuner because its free but i always tweak what it gives me a lot and i agree with the suspension always being too stiff, ARBs too. But i tend really really like the gearing, its almost always shifting at the RPM i want for most cars. Now, I cant help but wonder, are most of my tunes garbage since i based it on what forzatuner spit out at me? I havent tried forze tune pro to compare the results but still, im sitting here thinking, well fuck im gonna have to go back and review every goddam car ive tuned lol

I got the advert for the ForzaTune app before this video.

I don't know where else to post this so I'm gonna write it here since there is a good chance somebody capable of helping reads it. I have some ideas about "rating" different tunes for a given car by capturing and analyzing some data from its performance in a somewhat automated manner. For example, one kind of data I'd like to analyze for a given car and tune is that given a speed v, what is the maximum angle it can turn without losing grip while maintaining a speed of v. If someone has a way to capture this kind of data from the game or has already captured it, you can get in touch and I may be able to run some math through it and try to find some ways to tune cars better.

Tbh Gearing and Aero are the only things that can make you faster, the rest of options are up to personal preference and driving style.

For a period of time, I would use a Forza Tune and my own tune for every car I built, and... I always preferred my own tune. This was true even before I learned much about tuning, and I was still better off on my own. It's too bad, 'cause I was hoping to learn something from it.

As someone who is lazy, bad at the game, and doesn't want to learn how to tune: ForzaTune app is awesome.

I mean someone had to say it, might as well be SP4 :).

I tried: Hoki hoshi quick tune method Forza Tune BG55 QuickTune Tune It Yourself Forza Tune and BG55 suspension sucks but i think they are worth for gear ratio tuning, BG55 apparently was shut down :( but it was great because you could customize it for your personal preference. Whatever for suspension until now what worked the best for me is Hoki Hoshi method and Tune It Yourself they are a little overly stiff but consistent and easy to drive. This is how I've been tuning: Tire pressure: between 32 to 34 hot Camber: 2.0 front 1.0 rear Caster: 6.0 ARB" HH method Springs: HH method Ride height: 50% Rebound: HH method Bump: 50% of rebound value Brakes: 49% / 100% Differential: Front engine RWD: 40% Acceleration and 10% Deceleration Mid or Rear engine RWD: 40% on Both Acceleration and Deceleration FWD: 40% Acceleration, 0% Deceleration I would go faster making my own full custom tune? Probably yes, the problem is when i look at that tune menu i don't know from where i should start or where I am and where i should go. I can spend hours adjusting my car thinking I'm making it faster just to try my old method and realize the car isn't faster i just learned a better racing line on that circuit from spending so much time driving on it.

Forza Tune for gearing works but final drive needs adjusting, unfortunately BG55 appears to be down :( QuickTune needs playing around with the advanced settings to optimize your tune but I think it’s mainly due to driving style. There’s a suspension tuning spreadsheet available in the forum which is what I’ve been using and even though it’s a bit stiff the cars I’ve been using it for are more stable and predictable to drive.

@@matthewgreen8453 about the Forza tune, for the max torque RPM don't use the menu, many times it shows it wrong, you need to find it manually by using telemetry but for cross country at least back in FH4 Forza Tune was giving me awful gear ratio using like 3 gears and didn't had room in the final drive to make it shorter

@@racdude01 The first one, you will need manual transmission, put a high gear and drive on the highway until your telemetry shows the max torque, now just look what is the highest RPM the engine still making maximum torque For example full stock 2016 Dodge Viper ACR max torque is 600 ft-lb at 5000 rpm Obs: You need to stay full throttle Engine upgrades can change the max torque RPM You can make the gear ratio longer to make it easier to look the telemetry

I use base ForzaTune which is free not to race but to have a cruiser

At this point, I need the forza team to give us some answers.

I have been playing forza since the beginning: version 1 to 8. I started to use the app for a week and instantly all my cars are having more grip and handling is much more better! I do not understand why you are getting slower results. I assume it is not good for the Horizon series. I never used that app for horizon but only for Forza Motorsport 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. You should test it on original Forza and not Horizon. I always felt that horizon série feel more like an arcade games unlike Forza Motorsport series.

I heavily disagree with the video as I’ve created monster tunes with the app. I use the app to get me close to my preferences and then I make small tweaks and adjustments to my liking. I have S1 2019 911 gt3 rs that can beat the Viper AE, Mosler,XJR-15, and 2005 ford gt50. I think that’s what the app is made for. Also it sets the tires pressure to equal PSI. You want the wheels bearing the majority of the weight to be 0.5-1.0 PSI higher than the wheels that don’t bare as much weight. I’m friends with players that follows SP4’s tuning guide and I still beat them even without the app.

Forzatune has been around since like FM4. I can guarantee you they haven't changed any of the formulas that generate the tunes. Just some UI updates and whatnot to make sure it works for newer phones. It's never been good.

I have a world record tune. Your guide is basically spot on. And while I'm not going to publish the rough guideline starter tune I apply to any vehicle to make it instantly good if not great, I will say this - you are absolutely correct in your assessments and even your existing tuning guide, outdated though it may be due to recent updates, is a great place to start from. Tuning for fh5 is not and will probably never be analogous to real life tuning. Anyone making a paid app for tune calculators is a charlatan and a fraud. Just play the damn game and figure it out or use someone else's tune. I'm also frankly sick and tired of you getting banned and mass reported, and I hope you keep kicking these dicks right in the teeth. You are an inspiration and what you do is immensely appreciated and needed. Thank you.
