Over the past few weeks, the MTG community has taken a liking to a new combo between D&D's Flumph and LotR's Orcish Bowmasters! With every piece of the combo available on Magic Arena, I thought it would be a fun experiment to test if the Flumph combo is viable in the Historic format!
The first deck I ended up building was an 80 card Orzhov Midrange deck with Yorion as the companion. While the deck could pull off some wins, I was never able to consistently hit the combo with it, and since that didn't make for an entertaining video, I scraped it from the final video.
I also came up with an Abzan Collected Company/Coco build, running some singleton toolbox cards to interact with our opponent's deck. The test was pretty successful, so I could see this deck becoming a true contender for the format!
Lastly, the Mardu Rally Reanimator deck is my personal combo shell of choice, with alternate wincons aside from mill and consistency with the Lurrus companion!
