    Is Eze an Upgrade on Emile Smith-Rowe? Good question. The short answer is "No." The long answer, more accurate, is "Hell F*ing NO, Eze is NOT an upgrade on Emile Smith-Rowe." Which answer do you prefer?

    I love Eze, he can play both wings, attacking midfielder and center midfielder. He is a perfect rotation player for Arsenal! We need him much more than we "need" a new left winger in Williams! We just need someone to fill in for Saka when he needs rest, but Eze offers so much more! He can even be played next to Odegard in Attacking midfielder while we put Rice on 6. There is so much versatility he offers it would be madness to sign Williams over Eze

    ESR hasn’t had a big enough game sample size for us to judge where he’s at vs the rest of the team. He’s clearly talented and saved Arteta’s job a few seasons back and I think he’s not been given enough chances to prove he can ball with the rest of the team. Eze definitely a great player but I think it’ll be a side step selling ESR to gain Eze

    This is false. Eze much better out of possession in pressing and duels & Eze is a better athlete and more dynamic in possession with dribbles combinations and carries through the lines. ESR is good at carrying and combining but not as good as Eze in 1v1 dribbles but sadly Arsenal fans are sentimental and aren't having an objective analysis on the player. Eze also has a better engine. The stats also back up an objective eye test even though we're all just talking opinions. ESR hasn't developed much since his break out season as he's been injured meanwhile the manager has been evolving this team and now ESR is finding it very difficult to catch any rhythm especially when you look at the stakes now(UCL football and title challenging compared to challenging for European spots/top 4)so it only makes sense for both parties to leave

    Not only are Smith-Rowe and Eze's game and playing styles more different than they are similar, I'd also argue that the Palace player is beyond negligibly the better of the two. Foden and Palmer are likewise similar yet completely different. Out of sight..out of mind, probably best describes the fickle nature of some football fans as well as adding weight to the philosophy that just because you're looking at someone it doesn't mean that you see them. If in last seasons effort to finally regain full fitness after the demoralising series of setbacks he'd endured for so long, came with him now having a diminished naturally uninhibited instinct on the ball as well as the zip and 12 volt spark that initially made him ready to impact the first team, I too wouldn't have put him back in ahead of players who were both physically and mentally ahead of him just because I know what he is capable of when truly 100% back to his best. Whilst it's a cruel but accepted fact of life that injury, especially a succession of injuries, can savagely curtail a players career(Cazorla, Diaby, Rosiky), hopefully that fate won't also befall Smith-Rowe too, but in Arteta striving to first topple the juggernaut that is Man City followed by the monster of Real Madrid, he doesn't have much wriggle room for sentiment, ifs and buts.

  • @DeeDeeDanone
    @DeeDeeDanone20 күн бұрын

    Eze is much better, I no longer believe ESR is going to cut it as an elite level player. He has complete stagnated, whether through injury and/or a lack of drive. He now has the feel of a middling player that needs to recalibrate and find his new level. No player spends 2-3 years in the footballing wilderness and gets back to the top.

    My test on transfer targets is simple - would City buy them? And I don't see them going for Eze. Really good v world class. If we do buy Calafiori, that would give us more solidity on the left and that could open the door for a left 8 who isn't so defensively minded - and for me the perfect candidate would be Olmo. He feels like someone who could play for City. Olmo could significantly boost goals and assists.

Imagine we had turn down the chance to sign ode on a permanent basics then (half section of the fans was not to please about that cos of smith Rowe) what happened the coming season Smith Rowe was injured. Do you reckon the team would not have been where we are now? The team has sadly left him behind. Trossard is the ESR upgrade, if you notice esr s game time been going down with trossard s arrival, remember it was esr who used to compete with nelli. Now esr got moved to the center but teta won't give him the minutes, so it's better for him to move on. Eze is a good player but his profile won't suit arsenal s system unless arteta changes it, but I d be careful with changing things too much, as we have seen already. Fantastic player, and he seems like a really good guy, but i'm not sure he really has a position in this team? Versatility, sure, but you don't spend 60m on versatility. LCM, not really the passing maestro, tempo setter i feel we need. LW? Not really the type of winger we play with, if we had a goalscoring 9, maybe, but with Kai 9, our winger needs to be more like Martinelli. Fantastic player, wrong time. LB, 6/8 and a winger. This was the plan, stick to it imo. As for the ESR upgrade, its hard to say as ESR without fitness issues and minutes was an England International. I hope he moves and gets back there. He's more of a Wenger style player than Arteta.

    To be honest, I really think Eze would be a wasteful signing. I just don't think he's either the profile, nor the position we need. Honestly, I think our funds should be directed to Calafiori (which seems to be done, basically), a 6 or an 8 (to partner Rice, replace Partey, and take on the torch from Jorginho), and a striker (so we can rotate Havertz and also so Jesus can move to the RW and rotate with Saka, the boy plays too many games honestly). Only reason I can see Eze being a good signing is if he rotates with Odegaard as we don't have an Odegaard replacement. We have Viera, but is he physical enough and dynamic enough with his pressing? I don't in so. We have Smith Rowe, but to be honest, he can't seem to keep fit. Even if Eze did replace Smith Rowe, I just see him being a bit-part player like Smith Rowe or Viera have been, and nothing more than that, unless he plays alongside Odegaard but then I fear our midfield would get run through on the counter against pacey teams.

    I don’t think we need a player of Eze’s profile and I’m 99% sure we won’t sign him.

    I'm sorry but I don't rate Eze that much. i don't think he's at the level we need if we are to win the Prem. Would he get into City's team? NO. Would he get into Liverpool's team?....Erm, NO.
