Just a bit of Speculation today about what may be in the future for ski boots. Have seen a couple of leaked photos circulating the internet and thought it might be a good conversation starter.

Makes sense and I was surprised they didn't go that way. Personally I hate fiddling with the buckles.

Ever since BOA was introduce have you ever seen many/any big name skiers using BOA that weren't paid to use it? I don't know of any that use it but I'm sure it may be ''good enough'' that some big name could enticed with enough $$$ to use it.

I love boa, can't wait for these dual boa systems. Definitely will be so much easier to dial in and save a lot of weight

This video is just wraps up and confirms that Raichle Flexon boots were way ahead of its time... Currently operated as K2 boots, formerly full tilts, uses basically same system of cables, that don't just buckle and give ton of pressure, but wraps your leg inside the ski boot depending on how tight you want to crank all the 3 cables.. BUT boa is different what i don't like, is cables look way too weak, and they are vulnerable, sort of have no rubber protection like in Full tilts..

Thoughts on the Apex ski boots?

How do you know if you have the same tension each time with BOA? With the normal set up, once you have your boots sorted, you know they are tight when at 3 lugs done up.... etc?

There are some gauge lines you can use to dial them to the same level each time.

@PatriotFootbeds ok cool. Presume they don't tighten over multiple rotations then so you have to count, but will still have enough play to open the boots right up to get on and off too.

@@scollyutube Yeah its definitely not as quick to adjust. The cuff BOA will be very interesting to see if there is enough cable to make getting the boots on easy. Could be restrictive in this area.

@@PatriotFootbeds The upper BOA is going to have to be a lot larger than the lower one. The upper BOA on my Salomon snowboard boots is almost twice as thick as the lower BOA.

I’d think a double BOA is the way to go, especially, as the day moves along and your liners start to pack out….just turn the dials and you are good to go. I need to move the buckle over, mess with loosening the buckle to get the right fit, then it’s off when I start again the next time I start again to ski.

Nothing revolutionary about Boa. That Head boot is a marketing colab by Boa/Head, none of the athletes are actively using it. Sure it’s a proven closure technology, but no proven performance gain.
