As someone who is getting into YT and making videos, Davinci on an iPad seems like just another way for me to edit videos, the more access and practiceI have, the better it is for me

The more tools at our disposal the better. And they will only continue to improve

Been using it today and it really does impress me with its capabilities. There is a learning curve on iPad but once you figure stuff out things work as they should. Like you, I am using test footage right now and it really does not stutter at all. Tomorrow, I get to see what the speed editor does with this. I also put the multimedia adapter on it so I can power the iPad and use the SSD at the same time. Works great. BTW using the 12.9 M1. Also upgraded to the Studio version today while I was at it. I also imported some effects today and that worked smoothly., Just going to get better. This is a giant first step for Resolve. Loving it. Merry Christmas from Blackmagic - best present they could have given us.

The 95 dollar studio version is a no brained to me, bought it right off the bat. Def a learning curve on this, but a great first step, and it will only get better. Cant wait

I am coming from FCPX and first time dipping my toes in the Davinci waters. With playing around with it thus far I’ve found videos on YT that shows you how to get all 7 pages at the bottom. Cmd + Opt + k brings up the keyboard customization window where you can not only set up the keyboard the way you like but also enable all the tabs at the bottom. Coming from FCPX I miss the magnetic timeline but I guess I can get used to the work arounds.

I'm expecting pretty dramatic changes to come to the cut page and I can't wait. It does feel smart that they're starting with a stable version of what's currently in the desktop version before adding features that will seriously beef up it's capabilities on iPad 👍

Agreed. I feel like it need to take a lot more from the edit page to become viable. But I am very excited for these future updates

I can't find voice isolation I'm using the free resolve version on ipad pro 2020 Is this feature exclusive to m series ipads or is it exclusive to the paid version of resolve?

I said the same thing but they just released it Luma wasn’t that good at first but overtime it got alit better we just need to give this one time

What I need from the ios app is the ability to proxy non supported footage, then itd be a killer field or mobile setup for assembly edits and first pass grades.

Most strange thing about mobile davinci is export settings. I hope it will be improved with updates. Davinci gives us ocean when we want color grade, but it gives us few waterdrops when we want export. 😂 i want to control quality of that delicious color grading that tool gave me. Damn

I try a video from my canon r5 and looks like it doesn’t support CRM 😞

the keyboard customization works for add on keyboards like logitech but not on the magic keypads from apple according to another video i saw

The IPad has every tab you just have to add them. The full version works on the iPad Pro including the fusion page. I think Blackmagic hid them because they haven’t optimized those pages yet.

Few UI changes will make it amazing, right now it’s a L for touch users, very hard to get into the zone and fire away with the interface on offer imo

What configurations iPad pro 2022 I need to get to run Davinic Resolve? Is it good enough if I order a 12.9 inch,128gb and get a Samsung T7 1TB external drive? Or I need to order 12.9 inch, 256gb iPad pro? Thanks!

Anything under 1TB has 8gb of ram, so the difference between 128 and 256 is just storage, I think it just depends how much you’re gonna fill your iPad up with non davinci related things. If you’re working off an external drive you should be fine either way

Anyone know how to get external monitor support of Clean Feed working? Using M2 iPad Pro with Thunderbolt cable to monitor and I get the iPad desktop or Mirrored output, depending on the iPad settings. I know it can be done having seen it on other reviews.

@@mariotriforce Thanks! Yes, since my post, I learned via an iPad DR Facebook user group. Silly Apple force you to keep turning off mirroring every time you disconnect the monitor.

From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t, but there may be a way to do it that I don’t know of. The way I usually speed ramp on desktop is not available on iPad

Not currently being added with to the cutpage in a future version but maby possible with the onscreen controls on the cutpage to some limited extent 😉

I love davinci resolve. It coming to the i pad is a vig thing to me

bruh edit fusion and fairlight is already there on davinci resolve ipad you just have to go to keybindings(cmd+alt+k) then scroll all the way down and ] show ] then assign keys for edit page fusion page and fairlight page

My question is how do you import from camera roll? I can only import from files right now.

As far as I know you can’t import from camera roll at the moment

Its funny you say you are faster in the edit page as the cut page is made to be faster which it is for anyone who really learned it

Yes. It is. But we're making it work somehow.

No ability to add a voiceover or edit any audio on the iPad version of DaVinci Resolve. That’s disappointing.

Magic mask it should be their might be studio feature or it's under the more options toolbar 🤔🤔
