Sid eats pasta with no chicken for pre game meal. The sandwich is a snack before the game at the rink.

I find oatmeal with almond drink, after some fruit. Has always given me massive energy. Not just for hockey, but for cycling or whatever sport or high intensity training I do. Very consistent energy. I never eat white bread or pasta, always whole grain. White grains convert to sugar very quickly in your system, so if you do eat them, post training is good because simple sugars get absorbed very quickly and are less detrimental to your body post training or while training.

this is a great video that can even be generalized to the general public!!! eat real foods, dont rely on supplements, and consistency over intensity!!!

How many shifts should you drink in between? Also how much?

Listen to your body for when/how much to drink at a time. However, meeting these guidelines is key to ensure you're doing it right in terms of the big picture of intra-game nutrition for hockey performance: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fGmjxo-xerPRnaw.html

Hey coach garner, I’m extremely confused right now, and with my high school season coming to a close I want to know a set off season gym schedule to up my game and help me lose weight along the way. I’m wondering workout sets, reps, and a schedule down to the day, week to week from March-September. If you have a program like this already I would love to know about it, I looked all over and couldn’t find anything. Thank you😁

Hey there, Right now you can get instant access to our 2020 Off-Season Domination program which would cover all of your needs -- Or if you want to wait for the updated 2021 version, we will have that out in March/April. Here's the current version: www.hockeytraining.com/osd20-program

Do you ever include swimming into athlete training, is it something that can be worked into a hockey plan?

For practicality reasons I don't include it much in an online setting since most people don't have pools, and if they do, they can't use them year-round anyway. Although with that said, pool training can ABSOLUTELY be incorporated into a hockey training program in an efficient hockey-specific way, here's some insight as to how I set it up: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m22FrK-ciM-pfso.html

Hey coach Garner, I have a small question for you... I am 12 years old and just want to reach NHL... many people on the internet says that to reach it, you have to train every single day, but I don’t know if it is good or bad to train everyday in my age, if it’s not for older guys, not for players under fifteen Btw love your channel! Hope you stay healthy during this time. 🏒💪

Thanks buddy, you too! You don't need to train every day. 3-5 days per week is more than enough... and at your age you can even get away with just playing a lot of other sports/games and less training. Stay active buddy!

but on a serious note I've noticed that my game is at its best when I eat a decent 1:1 protein and carb meal about 3 hours pre game and I eat a banana on right as I get to the rink so 30 minutes prior to game time and one right before I walk out on the ice
