To clarify: I am not saying that there are no public order concerns in Vancouver. I am saying that the viral claims are nowhere near true. Especially the claim about Canada being lawless. Canada is ranked 12th for rule of law by the World Justice Project, which surveys experts and the public globally to rank countries. Is Dr Tracey saying that only 11 countries have laws? (And also, Vancouver is a very small part of Canada)

You aren't wrong, but a lot of Max's concerns are valid. I live in Vancouver, and I'm so sick of seeing these people smoking drugs in public, being arrested and released on the same day, breaking into my building and my car....and it's just getting worse.

Not bad though overall. It's going to be the same in any metropolis city you live in. And what do you mean people smoking drugs? On East Hastings sure. On granville? Maybe on the occasion you'll see someone. 98% of the rest of the city? It's pretty rare to see that. I do Uber Eats 90 hours a week. Yes 90 hours a week in vancouver. I drive all around the city basically all day everyday. I just don't see the issues you're seeing, maybe I'm just more tolerant to them and let the occasional sighting of that stuff slip by my subconscious. In fact in all my hours of doing Uber Eats in this city I don't even think I've witnessed one crime taking place one fight, or anything like that really. Never had my car broken into. I'm not saying it doesn't happen it's just not a relatively big issue in Vancouver. If you go to some cities in the states it'll make Vancouver look like such a cakewalk

As someone who lives in Vancouver, he's not exactly wrong about the drug abuse that goes on in the city. I saw two people shooting up in broad daylight as I was going on my run in suburban Vancouver.

Yeah but you're going to get this in any big city from time to time. Vancouver's drug p at least is mostly contained to the East Hastings, and only about two blocks of that area. Outside of there you'll see it sometimes maybe on Granville or davie, but not very often really. And then the rest of the city is like.. massive.. and beautiful was parks and recreation centers etc. Seeing drug use out in that area is pretty rare to the point where I don't think it's issue in Vancouver as much as it is in any other city at least. Violent crime is relatively low in Vancouver. Crime overall is just not a problem here. Perhaps it is for some people but compared to other cities it's pretty average. I hate how people like this have slandered our city online and people think it's some hell hole and they only film like East Hastings and main Street which is just not even 2% of the city. Then they ignore the rest of it which is absolutely beautiful. I mean I feel like people are taking it for granted. Or maybe they don't know what it's like in other parts of the world or an actual dangerous cities. It's not exactly Utopia anywhere out there. But anyway.. there's a quite a bit of drugs and Vancouver of course, but honestly of all the crimes to be rampant in the city drug crime is probably the least problematic. Also the bC is rolling back some of the laws they laid out about open drug use in limiting it to certain areas so that should help with the problem you discussing

It use to be contained to DTES, but now I'm seeing more open drug usage in Vancouver proper including right by a daycare.

The only reason there's all this talk about Vancouver being a lawless dangerous city recently, is because on the election is coming up and are using that as a way to undermine the liberal government. Vancouver is a pretty damn safe city overall. I hate how right-wing supporters have slandered and ruined Vancouver's image basically online. Everyone thinks it's a hell hole. They have videos of people going up and down East Hastings which is only like a two block area. 98% of the city is absolutely beautiful. With Parks everywhere and it's just a shame. Some people actually do believe it's dangerous because of that. They don't know what a real dangerous city is like. Vancouver is wonderful.

That channel is so good. Almost every episode is putting singapore in good light. I wonder why a russian spend so much time dedicating his time and channel to this cause ? Surely he is altruistic and not getting paid to singpraise? If timbuktu, he should have been awarded a citizenship and a b&w bungalow. If only all new citizens do the same

The guy looks like he's clearly angry about something, but he's being irrational and exaggerating, which makes it seem like what he's angry about isn't anything to do with the topic.
