I finally got my husband of 20 years to go camping. Since tents were out, we rented our first RV. We stayed in a bunch of different camps, but by far, KOA was the cheapest and had the most amenities. Yes, I know there is free camping, but when trying to get someone who has never camped in their 54 years of life, you're not boondocking for the first trip. I grew up in a family where every family vacation was camping. So camping in a tent was my life for 4 or 5 weeks a years ages 3 - 18. Now to work on getting him to go camping again, then the owning of our own RV. 😅

Come to the UP, you’ll be shocked.
We hit our first KOA 2 days ago…game changer. I had no idea how kid friendly the campgrounds are. We’ll be hitting more in the very near future. TY for sharing.

@@TheAdventureBuddies Lol, no idea. It was cold, rainy, and we were in a wind warning advisory. The staff escorted me to my site…power worked…bathroom facilities were not only open but immaculate. These alone were worth the price of admission. The 2 state parks prior…not so much. The 2nd one had no power, no WiFi or mobile coverage and you had to drive to find the open vault toilet. Needless to say, we packed up and hit our very first KOA an hour down the road. I’ll be hitting them up again and I’ll be sure to check out the amenities. Fair winds…
Nice video and thank you for posting. I have to admit. We have stayed at many, many KOA's. However, I have to say that if we can find a State park, county park or an Army Corp of Engineer campground, that's what we do. They are just to expensive in my eyes. Granted, they have many amenities. A couple weeks ago, we stayed at one in New Mexico. It was over $300 for 4 nights. And that was with a discount. There are State parks that you can spend a whole month at for that price. Plus, you have plenty of space between you and your neighbor. I will say they are conveniently located off most interstates and a good place to stop for a pit stop. Another plus is they are easy to get a spot, even on a day's notice. They are also good for families that have kids. Plenty of activities. But for most retired folks just traveling, too expensive. Not to say we won't ever stay at another one, but if I can find something else that's cheaper, that's the route we are going.

Great share! Yeah we think KOA are great for the amenities and for those just starting to get into camping. But agree there are many other options that offer a much cheaper route! Best wishes on all your travels!
Nice camping tips. Thumbs up video. 👨👩👦👦
We like using KOA when we travel. Their internet sites work easily. Full hookups, camp store.

To each there own but KOA is not real camping, spent 3 nights at one a few years ago and hated it and spent way to much on an experience I didn't like

Thank you
Eighty dollars a night comes out to $2400 per MONTH. That's about $2000 over my budget! Always thought of myself as middle class. Guess I better face reality I AM POOR.

Hmm bit confused here
How does the check in process look like at KOA?
@TheAdventureBuddies

The few that we did, they had you go to the little general store on the site and they checked you in at the front desk. Believe check in times vary but are typically 3pmish and then if you’re running late I’d call ahead and let them know as they can make other accommodations to get you set up if the person at the desk has gone home.
