Mr Patrick, nice job. Caitlin Clark is great period. Now then-- they say she isn’t the best because she hasn’t won’t a championship. One person doesn’t win a championship. The team does. If you listen to Caitlin she always praises her teammates. Basketball is not a solo sport like wrestling. It’s a team sport. She is fantastic BUT she needs support. I love your show.

@@jdneely9939 You’ve got to love how the veil of a certain anonymity makes people think it’s ok to call people stupid. I respect your opinion on the quality of Iowa’s team. They are fantastic and fun to watch. I respect what they’ve been able to accomplish. But Geno is in a completely different league when it comes to coaching and recruiting. And with Caitlin on the team he would have been able to recruit even better players. The UCONN team wouldn’t look exactly like it looks now if Caitlin were on the team. It would have been a repeat of what they did with BreAnna Stewart. But I’m glad she’s on Iowa. I like to see more teams get in on the action- and I have friends and family in Iowa.

Clark was not always a 3 point shooter. She came to the college and saw that the players were bigger, stronger and quicker than her, so she adjusted her game. She figured out she doesn't have to go down low to score, that shooting 3's gets you points and you will be banged around less than playing low post. This prevents injuries. Adjusting your gameplay to the environment your in, is the difference between good players and great players.

  • @vh448

She can do it all at the highest level. There's no weakness to her game and still getting better. Her style of play is unlike any woman that ever played, more like the men. Holds all or most of the records. Based on all the stats, it's hard to deny her GOAT status which she will only cement with her WNBA career.

I don’t bother with comparisons. But I will say that Caitlin Clark is the absolute most electric and exciting female player I have ever seen. From shooting to passing to ball handling and the fire she brings with it all. She is the dawn of a new era within the WNBA, if certain female egos within the WNBA can get over themselves and embrace it. Actually whether they do that or not, she will still change the game for the better - with them or without them.

The short answer is yes she is the greatest woman's player in college basketball history but it is impossible to say if she is the greatest college basketball player ever without agreeing on the criteria. The most ACCOMPLISHED college basketball players ever are obviously Breanna Stewart and Lew Alcindor/Kareem Abdul Jabber, but that doesn't necessarily make them the best. I happen to think that Jabbar is the best men's college basketball player ever but both Jabber and Stewart had a lot of help from their teammates (and coaches) in their college careers. Could Stewart have led that Iowa team without Clark to the National Finals last year? I don't think so. Would Clark have won multiple National Titles if you replaced her for Stewart on those stacked Connecticut teams? I think the obvious answer is yes. So where does that leave you? I'm going with the eyeball test and to me the last 2 years she is playing at a higher level than any woman in college basketball history (and she means more to her team than any woman in history). Until last year I thought Cheryl Miller was the best woman basketball player I ever saw but now I think Clark is better, and I think she will be seen as the greatest woman player ever after a dozen years in the WNBA (barring major injuries like what happened to Miller). It is hard enough to compare players from different generations but to compare men with women is nearly impossible. But for me to say that she is the greatest college basketball player ever I would have to conclude that the difference between Clark and either Miller or Stewart is greater than the difference between Jabbar and whoever is the second greatest men's college player ever (Maravich, Russell, Walton, Robertson, take your pick). And as big a Clark fan as I am, that is a bridge too far even for me.

Is Caitlyn Clark these greatest player in college basketball history? My thought is that she is almost certainly the greatest female college basketball player to ever step on the court. Part of the reason why I consider her to be the greatest is that not only is she the greatest scorer in NCAA history (most points and second highest scoring average in NCAAW history) but she is also one of the top ten all time leaders in assists and she also has the incredible ability to hit a deep three point like almost no one else (yes, Stephen Curry can do what Caitlyn can but he's the only player I can think of). The combination of these three make her a nightmare to defend against.

The greatest female player to me was Maya Moore and still is until otherwise. Maya rebounded, blocked shots, got steals, scored and won Chips on every level. Did not disappoint in the WNBA. Ended her short career with only 4 rings and had one stolen to give Pat Summit closure. Caitlin wins a chip then they can talk. She is offensively explosive without a doubt and the buzz is warranted. She has a chance to do special things as well.

What will the eyeballs do when they see how unimpressive the wnba is? As long as the NBA level of talent is at hand, the wnba will never be the eyeball Attraction some think.

I grew up in Iowa City, and a huge Hawks fan, including CC. But holy crap, can we wait a while (10-15 years) to compare her to LeBron? She hasn't played a single pro game. There is a formidable argument that CC is the greatest college player of all time, but enough with the ridiculous Pistol/Moore arguments, they don't really matter. Caitlin is still a (barely) 22 y/o young woman. Let's just celebrate her college career, and see what she can do in the W, and the USA national team. When it comes to "greatest all time" women hoopers, we have a long way to go. Y'all are forcing an argument that is WAY premature, and inviting far too much pressure on Caitlin to reach some kind of GOAT status before she's ever touched a ball in the pros. Seriously, please just back the f*ck up and let her have her space.

Interesting that a "ball hog" ranks 5th all-time in assists in the NCAA & 1st all time in assists in the B1G.
