Is Brandon Ingram a perfect fit for the Cleveland Cavaliers?

New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram is expected to be on the trade market this summer. And the Cleveland Cavaliers could be among the teams interested.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein via his Stein Line newsletter, there is a “growing belief leaguewide that Pelicans will aggressively explore the trade market for Brandon Ingram before next season.” Four teams Stein writes that have already been mentioned as possibly interested in Ingram: The Cavs, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Orlando Magic.
From Stein’s report ($):
Ingram is entering the final year of his contract next season at $36 million and is eligible for a four-year contract extension this summer worth up to $208 million. The Pelicans, remember, already appear to have a strong potential successor on the roster to Ingram thanks to the presence of Trey Murphy III.
Fit concerns about the games of Ingram, CJ McCollum and star forward Zion Williamson persist in New Orleans despite the Pelicans’ 49-33 record this season. A handful of Eastern Conference teams (Philadelphia, Cleveland, Atlanta and Orlando) have already been mentioned as potential trade suitors for Ingram.
Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to make moves but is Brandon Ingram the right fit for the team? Brandon Ingram fills the need for the wing and is a major upgrade from anyone else on the Cavaliers right now. The issue could be trading for a 27 year old who is on the cusp of making 50 million a year after next season. Is the Trio of Brandon Ingram, Donovan Mitchell, and Evan Mobley worth the money and good enough to take the Cleveland Cavaliers further into the post season?

Also im a pels fan. More than anything. They are shipping bi out because of his contract and the fact our owner gas and never will pay a luxury tax. Never. Theres not a pels coach. Gm or staff member that wont tell you brandon when healthy is easily the 2nd best player on that pelicans roster. The dude that said those that think bi is good are the ones who havent seen him play . Like the dude has no clue what hes talkint about. Trey murphy isnt wven close to the all around hooper bi is. Trey shoots 0-11 from 3 8 games in a row and than will go 7 for 11 for a couple games. Hes the streakiest shooter we have . He also cant do ANYTHING off the dribble. Stop talking abour bs. Trey isnt beint traded because zion needs 3pt shooters and thats it. We love trey. tons Of potential there. BUt even to say hes a way better defender is wrong. I thnk dude who said that shit is the one who hasnt seen brandon play . Or hes got a hard on for the one game trey played very well aganst cleveland last yr. Hes not that guy. Great catch and shoot guy from 3. Thats it right now. Anytime teams run him off the line to make him dribble he no where near as effective

Luka and Kyrie are clutch, DG and Mitchell aren't. Cavs don't have a clutch shooter. DG lacks focus and smarts, but no guard would want to back court with Mitchell. Conley didn't. Brunson wouldn't. Besides, two small guards is a terrible idea in an era of big, defensive guards.

We need to start Levert with Mitchell. Since Mitchell can run offense we need a tall guard who can play make beside him. We can sign a true point guard as 6th or 7th man. Look at this: Trade Darius Garland and Georges Niang to the New Orleans Pelicans for Brandon Ingram. Keep Ty Jerome for his shooting. SF- Brandon Ingram (Traded For) PF - Evan Mobley C- Jarret Allan PG- Donovan Mitchell SG- Caris Levert PG- Buddy Hield/Spencer Dinwiddie/Kyle Lowry ( sign free agency) SF- Max Strus SF/SG/PF- Isaac Okoro (resign) C- Jonas Valanciunas (sign free agency) PF- Marcus Morris (resign) SG- Sam Merrill PF-Tauren Prince (sign free agency) PG- Ty Jerome PG- Craig Porter Jr PF/SF/C- Dean Wade PF/C- Tristan Thompson (resign) Emoni Bates Isaiah Mobley Pete Nance

Jonas V can shoot from the outside and rebound. He can pair with Mobley and Allen as a shooter. Caris Levert moves to starting lineup as the shooting guard to pair along side Mitchell who is now moved to point guard. We resign Morris because he is a leader, playoff experience, 3 and D guy. He also can pair with Mobley and Allen. Taurean Prince should come back to Cleveland. He is a PF that can stretch the floor and pair with Jonas, Mobley, Allen etc. This is an incredible front rotation. Add in a bonafide point guard like Buddy Heild, Spencer D or Kyle Lowry as 6th man with Strus and Okoro. Add in Morris, Jonas V, Prince, Wade. All tall and can go up against Boston, NY, Philly and Milwaukee. Even with Injuries this is solid and lots of playoff experience. Add in Ty Jerome when healthy can score and shoot the 3.

But played close to 70 games last year. His defense has majorly progressed and behind lebron youd be hard pressed to find a better facilitator at the forward spot than brandon. Dude drops dimes as hes able to see over the defense. Has aversged 20+ 5 straight years. Can score on anyone. If your worried about the okc series dont be. He was fresh off missing a whole month . The last playoff series he went into healthy against another #1 seed he put up 27/5/6 on 50/41/88 shooting splits. Him and mitchell would be insane . So when he doesn’t have control of the offense he is a net negative Atleast Ingram can provide some other things and then when it’s his turn to have the offense ran through him he can go for it. BI and Garland is the starting point. The other pieces are negotiable. Garland isn't at his maximum playing without the ball. In Ingram's best two seasons (MIP/1 AS game) he took 6+ 3s/game and made 38%. The question is why he stopped shooting them. A new situation with a new coach maybe can get him shooting 3s again.

Guess what, Garland isn’t the answer. We’ve seen two years of Garland and Mitchell. They can’t coexist. Garland was an All star when Mitchell wasn’t here. Move on from Garland. I’ll take 6’9 driver and creating forward over a small PG who defers all the time. Get Ingram now while cheap.

Cavs don't need to make any major moves this off season. People are overreacting to the loss last year to the Knicks and this year to the Celtics. They just need a coach to get Garland and Mitchell to play together or at most move Garland to the bench. As for Mobley and Allen, the new coach should make Mobley take more mid range and 3 pt shots especially with Allen on the floor. If you do trade Allen you need another defensive anchor. Mobely is good but not as good as Allen as a defensive anchor. The other thing they need is a defensive wing. They should develop Bates or Luke Travers or get a 3 and D player for cheap.
