Yup. When asked, Salman Khan said that Govinda was the best actor he'd seen. So Govinda could have done many different roles. But his heart was never in any other character but of a hero, even long after his glory days were over. It becomes difficult for anyone to work with such a person then. 🤷🏾

Govinda bahot creative hai...unko chance hi nahi mila, Director producer , unko sirf comedy hi karvana chahte the aur hai..he can do anything ...serious , emotion, comedy, tragedy,....you can see variation in Kismat, swarg, Aag, kill dil, shola aur shabnam.

Underrated actor and one of my favorite. While he will be remebered for his comedy, he was versatile and could dance, had good action scenes and could also play serious, emotional or dramatic roles. Was a good box office draw from 1988-2001. With Bollywood becoming obsessed with westernised culture and how the NRI and overseas audience sees it, he isn't seen as cool or trendy as the Khans, Akshay or the younger lead actors. This was even back in the 90s(when he was successful). I think a lot of the big production and directors like Karan Johar, Yash Chopra and Subhash Ghai as well as others saw him as beneath them. Kill Dil in 2014 was a mediocre film but Govinda absolutely stole the show. I think Govinda maybe hasn't adpated to how the industry and evolved and changed over the last 20 years as well as maybe not relaising the style of leading men is different to his day. I still think he could play a character actor in films.

Do Knot Disturb is a 2009 Indian comedy film directed by David Dhawan. The film is a remake of the 2006 French film The Valet (French: La Doublure). The film stars Govinda, Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Sushmita Sen, Ranvir Shorey, Sohail Khan and Rajpal Yadav.

When you do something wrong, you stop smiling and apologize. Govinda would do wrong and then show his biggest grin of Bollywood. And that’s arrogance. His mind was not sane.
