Klopp won the biggest titles with good players. Salah at Roma wasn’t worldclass! Mane? Firmino? Henderson? Matip? Worldclass? Hell no! Klopp made them! And the youngsters like Trent or Robertson he elevated? Slot has a mountain to climb to get on the level of Klopp. No doubt.

Klopp wasn’t an up and coming manager when Liverpool signed him! He was a fully established manager with 2 bundesliga titles, champions league final etc

I totally agree, we all have to start somewhere. What I’m saying is Klopp wasn’t up and coming when joined Liverpool. Xavi Alonso was up and coming coach when he joined Leverkusen from Sociedad B! He’s def not up and coming now. I’d say he is, since Mourinho at Porto and when Pep started at Barcelona, the next managerial protege since then.

The good thing for Arne Slot is that although the squad needs tweaking a little he is coming into the club in very different circumstances than Jurgen did..Jurgen had to completely rebuild the squad he inherited..So there is less pressure on Slot as far as i am concerned..But he needs this squad and a few new signings to stick together..Then who knows how successful Arne Slot will be..

"Born 4 miles from the German border...". What does that have to do with anything? BTW, Klopp is from Stuttgart, over 350 miles from the Dutch border.

Slot is coming to a team with some of the best players in the world who have experience of winning trophies together. A lot different to what Klopp came into. I think many people will get a surprise after thinking Liverpool will crumble after Klopp leaving. I'm excited for a fresh start. Up the reds!

To be very honest, I'm a bit underwhelmed as a Liverpool supporter. Yes I know someone in one of the top comments mentioned that Klopp didn't win anything before he came to Liverpool and but that is not completely true as he had won the Bundesliga (more prestigious than dutch league) and a cup. Plus, everyone already knew Klopp was top top manager who at the time I was surprised we were able to get. Don't get that vibe from Slot.

As a dutch football fan, I can tell you all dutch football watchers love Slot. He has been a Feyenoord coach for three years now, but in his first season he had a very shitty squad. He turned it into a very good team and they reached the conference league final. At that time Feyenoord was always low on money. For decades they had nothing to spend and always had to be creative to find some players that didn't suck. After that first year of Slot, Feyenoord was able to sell several players for a lot of money. After this, they could finally buy the players to really compete with PSV and Ajax. They became champions in Slot's second year. And this season they won the cup. And I think they even got more points in the league than when they became champion. Slot knows what he wants to see on the pitch and he gets it done.

Honest opinion.. Any manager who comes in to replace klopp consider lucky as klopp already build base and future for the club.. If ain't broken, don't fix it.. Keep the best player, retain staff that performs well

Wishin Slot the best. As long as FSG and the hierarchy support him, he has a chance. If not, then it could be difficult although not impossible. If Klopp was supported more LFC probably could have won more

I have zero enthusiasm for Slot. Klopp is loved as much for his personality as his management skills, he got us. The general impression I am getting here is Slot will need to make a very fast start because the void Klopp leaves is depressing.

klopp has overshadowed the expectations of FSG and liverpool as a whole, If we get top 4 and a trophy that would be a perfect first season for slot. Slot won’t be expected to win the league for 3/4 years atleast, even then maybe not depending on how much we spend, with pep and arteta about it won’t be easy for any manager in world football

It's better to do it at 1/3 of the season rather than announce it suddenly at the end of the season. By then the club got too much of things to do, finding a new manager and also new players within a 2-3 months window.
