Had the Alec speaker. Best worst speaker ever. Seemingly beautiful but so so flawed.

@@Bigirondoug It’s like there are two different volumes for the speaker. The stuff that is forward in the song are forward and effortless and nice. But anything else that is meant to be background or details it’s like they’re on a different volume setting that is extremely low. The imaging of these background sounds is tiny and get lost in the mix. The other thing is there’s absolutely zero air in the upper midrange. The sound or air in vocals and instruments is just completely gone. Basically half your music is completely missing. But what is there is forward and grabs your attention so it’s covered up and not as noticeable till you own a pair or know what to look for.

@@t.j.bennett6454 Thanks for your reply, I'll have to keep that in mind, the rooms at the show aren't the greatest way to evaluate any system.

@@Bigirondoug Have you got chance to hear the speakers? I’d like to know your impression on these. My experience with them was quit enjoyable though, treble to mid-range is very smooth and excellent, lower mid-range lacks a bit focus. Bass is deep and compact.
