Is AI the Beginning of the KALI YUGA?

Did the Hindu world-age doctrine of the Yugas predict artificial intelligence to be the beginning of the end for the human species? Well, it is not that simple, but the dark times of the Kali Yuga are characterized by a devolution of the mind into gross matter and a sharp decline in intelligence due to our externalized perspective of reality. So, with this understanding of this ancient prophecy, how does artificial intelligence signify the beginning of the Kali Yuga?

Check the book "The Holy Science" by Swami Sri Yukteswar the reckoning of time was distorted by a decline in intellect as we entered the last Kali yuga. The last Kali yuga ended in 1800 b.c.. I am a Gen-Z Telugu boy from Andhra Pradesh in the south. I am actually concerned about my language going extinct. Most of people are becoming westernized and try to speak English as much as they can just to look cool. And if a culture loses its language it loses everything. Even to read a newspaper in Telugu we need our parents help to understand and we don’t have the command over our language as much as our parents or grandparents have. Telugu is 80% Sanskrit and it’s a beautiful language. Its so sad to see that people are not caring about the language dying that has all ancient scriptures which are very essential. And I am suffering from it because I am reading Bhagavad Gita in English to understand better. And not reading it in Telugu because it’s too complicated for me

Key take-aways for me: The loss of vocabulary and creative writing these days, the lack of heart inherent in AI, the fact that we must "use it or lose it" and cultivate intelligence vs being passive consumers. All 100% true and, like you say, the remedy is to inquire within and find balance.☯🕉

Yeah.......no! Balance does not work for a Human Being. And im not pretending to be something else than you are my brother, please dont get me wrong. But Balance ONLY works for Mortals and Demi-Gods. I dont need to tell you that we are NO Demi-God.. But we do tend to believe that we are Mortals. (We are not) When a Human uses Balance as its main tool of measure, we wil always find we tip the Balance because of our tendencies. This is why when a Human uses 1 Religion to balance his life, he condems all other Religions and those People who believe in these other Religions. In turn, the Human that seeks Balance for himself, wil cause inbalance to others that try to find the same path in a different way. Balance causes you to say yes, to something that is good for you. And the same Balance causes you to say no, to something that is not good for you. A example... In situation A: A beautiful woman you like, and she needs your help. What wil you do? You wil most likely help her. Situation B: A Woman who is a long gone stinking junky wants your help. What wil you do? You wil most likely NOT help her. THIS is what Balance does. If it is good for ME, I wil do it. If it is not good for me, I wont do it. This makes a Human inconsistent. Humans need a (imaginary) Scale to weigh things out.. Take the example I gave just now.. And put on the Scale, the subject of the matter... In this case it is: Helping a woman in need. Then ask yourself 2 Questions. Would I help this beautiful woman i want? Answer: yes! Now.. Would I help this Junky stinking woman i dont want? Answer: HELL NO! Good.... So now your answer to the beautifull woman should be: HELL NO! Because you wil say HELL NO to the Junky.. Same way other way around, that if you say: YES! to the beautifull woman. You MUST say YES! to the stinking Junky.. This is OUR kind of Balance.. It is done with a Scale. You wil always have the answer to your own questions this way. When I say YES to the positive, I must say YES to the negative. (Wil I stil do it?^) Yes/No When I say NO the negative, I must say NO to the positive. (Wil I stil NOT do it?^) Yes/No The 1 answer that comes from both questions is called the Correct answer. You wil DO things that you normally DONT want to do. You WONT do things that you normally DO want to do..

TBH ive also studied a lot about cosmology and, if it’s truly just scientific life/death cycles of waves and energy, galaxies birthing new galaxies, etc. then it seems that all these ancient stories are prophecies imo. If we look at them from a hypothetical angle of them telling the story of our galaxy and the history of man, then in a way they’re true bc they’ve already come true before - in a cycle 😯 (As I went to type this, the definition of kalpa came up on the screen 😭)

A nicely articulated summary of the current crisis. I work in tech and regard AI with great skepticism, if not suspicion. I'm very concerned about the deterioration of language skills as well, as writing is a central activity for me. Your thoughts on the general decline in consciousness and compassion resonate with clarity. I appreciate your simple proposal of returning to reading books. I'd also suggest writing reflections, intentions, stories, or recollections in journals. It can be quite healing. I'm a Catholic who has always had a deep interest in the Vedas and Mahabharata. My girlfriend is Buddhist (follower of Thich Nhat Hanh), and we frequently talk about the philosophy of the two religions. Many of the themes you bring up are along the lines of what we've discussed.

Desperate humans living in ignorance of themselves and the objective reality they are a part of will always grasp for the easiest and most comfortable solution to life's problems. Why do something difficult and complex that works, when you can just sit back and enslave yourself and never have a care in the world. Humans are either shepherds or sheep. Not all shepherds are good shepherds, and not all sheep follow the flock. This distinction is the only true difference that exists between human beings.

We are still setting the stage for the Sathya (Truth) Age, the Golden Age of Aquarius to cycle in, as it has forever been destined to do so. Therefore, no matter where we find ourselves with both the positive and negative aspects of AI, it will still be important and needed in helping to set the stage and usher in the Sathya Yuga. The Kali Yuga is clearing out now and this is the part that can be quite negative and destructive, which is why our light, our faith, and our focused intentions of peace and love are never more important and needed. 🙏🏽🕉️💜

@@PS-ic4bp Why would the Vedic chanting stop if it isn’t over yet? As I mentioned, we are still in it, but at the end of it. The blades are still turning and we are being thrown about quite severely right now as it comes to an end. Similar to a game we played as children where we all hold hands or arms and one person starts turning in circles. The ones on the end will get tossed around more violently and will continue to move, even if the center person stops spinning around. Same can be said for airplanes in turbulence. It’s always worse in the back of the plane. May I ask what your sources are that support your opinion on where you think we are in the Kali Yuga and what your perception of “a long time” might be? We could very well be speaking of the same thing, but our perception of time regarding the Kali Yuga could be quite different.

Fantastic Video Jason. The sheer amount of people that don't actually attempt to understand inner Truth or suffer properly causing neurotic tendencies is a problem AI aside, but I agree wholeheartedly that adding that into the mix certainly is making people inherently more narcissistic and tamasic ( lazy ) in fact. Ty for Sharing, I bet your book is interesting and something that may help wake up folks unaware of the Kali yugas overall collective de-evolvutionary effects. My take away from this was that the pursuit of altruistic impartiality is more important now more than any other time in human history to enhance the collective frequency of humanity. 🙏

There is a challenge in understanding between divine years from human years. Noting that Homosapiens came out of Africa world between 200,000- 60,000 years ago. Lord Krishna died about 5,100 years ago, the start of Kali Yuga. This means we have to live through another 426,000 years of Kali Yuga!

Yugas are not only ages o timelapses of collective states of conciousness, they are also personal states of stratified dimensions of agency in the universe. Understanding methaphysical time is not an easy thing, and apocalyptic representations remain as mythemes or prototypical collective attractors of behavior. When apocalyptic and distopic ideas emerge in the collective unconcious, they can certainly have a prophetic cuality; as well as a "renaissance" cuality. The duration of the four yugas responds to a 4-3-2 fractal acceleration. So in some sense, time is accelerating and we are aproximating to the present (end of times) experiencing as many Yugas taking less time, but mantaining the same proportion of a "Maha Yuga - equals - 2 x Kali Yuga". There is a reason why a Maha Yuga (4 yugas together) lasts 4.32 million years, and there is a reason why a Kali Yuga lasts 432 000 years. Methaphysical units of time are not seconds, years of minutes. Not necesarily or at least, not uniquely. Artificial intelligence has nothing to do with artificial. By definition, artificial is just something done by humans... labeled as artificial if humans themselves consider their actions as "un-natural".

Flashing images on a screen divide further an already confused mind. And as natural mental abilities atrophy due to lack of use, so do the abilities to process the signals from true nature within. The sum of a downgraded society is to enter into an even more dormant state of existence and becoming ever more available for exploitation by the corporate control. Society should not sleep walk into a future of ever increasing lack of freedom, even though it may well be a disguised form of slavery. This is not what humanity is about. As always the choice will be down to the individual to follow the herd, or otherwise. Keep up the good work Jason.

Wow Jason, loved this video. In my opinion, this AI is just a phase in the KY. As per the Srimad Bhagavatam (it's a collection of events closely associated to Lord Krishna as per the Vaishnav tradition), the then most powerful King on the face of the planet earth (Parikshit Maharaj) met the demonic human manifestation of the modern day evil (Kali). Long story short, the King spared the wretched manifestation and ordered it to reside in "Gold". So I believe Kali has been influencing the rich and the powerful via the banking system ever since it's advent and has shifted to the west as banking became more and more prominent here. Banking is running the world and right now the focus of the bankers are on the AI. Time will tell if AI will sustain itself for the next T minus 5000 years, but yes it will greatly boost the agenda of that demon.

It might be useful to defer to Sadhguru on this topic for a different perspective. I have heard his perspective as such: AI will free us from all the things that our minds and bodies are preoccupied with as regards survival, meaning intellect, memory, and identity will be offset to machines. However, what remains is Chitta, or consciousness, that which machines cannot imbibe. Once we are no longer preoccupied with the absorption of impressions, we will finally turn inward, not by choice, but because there will be nowhere else to turn. This will be a great opportunity for humanity to develop their conscious awareness and recognize what makes human beings different from purely mechanistic or causal manifestations. Of course, the risk remains that we do not use this time wisely, and instead squander our inheritance from our ancestors, in which case, the Yugas are an excellent guide for how to avoid the disaster we could so easily play into without consciousness. It is best we read it as such.

I doesn’t matter in what yuga we are in if we are aware of our own mental processes and what motivates us. On an individual level it is possible to transcend any limitations and reach liberation, moksha, no matter outer conditions. Sure, Ai can be used to free up time and energy for us to use for more useful and long-lasting pursuits, such as spiritual advancements. It has even been suggested that spiritual progression is quicker during a general time of materialism and ignorance, if we manage to go our own way and against the general trends of the world. But this takes a mind of high level of conviction and self reliance. It also requires access to an authentic spiritual tradition and teachers that is able to instruct and lead the spiritually inclined person on a fruitful path towards true liberation. Kali yuga generally means that we have less access to such authentic teachers and also much denser obscurations in our minds that prevents us from accurately discerning what is truly authentic and virtuous and what is just fake. As kali yuga progresses these obstacles will only increase and result in a very long period of no real opportunity for spiritual progression due to complete absence of authentic guidance.

Regarding the Yugas, I hope the short version of it is the first one to be applied to us 😐 😮 or we are totally screwed! 🤔💭 maybe there are infinite "rules of time span" applied to each system. My words are not as good as I see things in my mind. So, I will use some examples to explain my crazy thoughts: the life span of a cell, a bee, a dog, a human, and so on. If we look at the meaning of Advaita Vedanta it means not two, no second. Is this telling us about the dangers of binary which is dualistic thinking. Our nature is non dualistic and AI is in direct contravention of this. This was a very thoughtful and intelligent video thank you.

There you have it, when duality falsely expresses itself as the underlying foundation to all things in the place of the true triplicity which is at the same time ONE. We have the potential for evil born of maya to flower in human hearts that haven't seen truth's cutting light. For, with every two, there is a third that melds the oppsites into one, so there can be no excesses of either, only balance of the opposing odds through mutual reception that allows activity and passivity to express themselves through the unbiased neutral middle pillar which is their harmonic centre.

@thoughtstratum very well put. At one point I spent a bit of time on wondering how at some point, the birth of self awareness created the illusion of duality.. (If "I" EXIST so to speak, then that would implicate the opposite of I and exist) A whole myriad of problems arise from consciousness itself it would seem based upon this. The more self reflection the deeper the abyss and the more terror inducing the hell....

Hey Jason, really resonating with your thoughts on AI fears. It's crucial to recognize the duality of our world where challenges come, so do opportunities. While AI brings concerns, I believe our adaptability as a species will allow us to harness its benefits and continue thriving, just as we have for centuries. Loved the video!

We haven't had a technology that was so goal oriented, that it would eliminate any inefficiency, biological or otherwise. AI isn't something we can harness for our benefit

I like your video and AI is a very interesting topic that I've been following for a while. You brought up some good points and things to think about, such as the atrophy of certain capabilities as we use technology more and more. Though you make some claims that I don't think are fully fleshed out. You said AI is not a person? What does that mean? Are you sure? How can you know? You also said that it's predictable, but many of them are not at all predictable and surprise the developers all the time. I'd be open to having a discussion about this if you'd be willing. :)

Very good and enlightening podcast Jason. I think our telephone devices and calculators are our problem. Couples who don't speak to each other, but are constantly busy with their cell phones, etc. I am a little older and I actually learned to count at school. I have been on holiday in India for 14 months now and I have noticed that many people can no longer count. For example, I buy something for 94 and pay with a 100 note and the seller uses a calculator to calculate how much he has to give back. This is often no different in Europe. With AI we become even dumber, because then AI does everything. I wonder where/how this will end

The Kali Yoga epic is the most chaotic, testing, entropy ridden epic. It where we are forced to wake-up. AI is just another obstacle we will have to transcend. There is a prescience of humans having to learn the hard way when it comes to transcending. So yes

I dont see it will happen in Asia.. esp Chinese ethnicity they are so deep they havent got a clue which direction is up or down...Well laziness of investigating and not doing discernment instead relying on mainstream media is the downfall of Asia population.... and of course not investigating/ not a care what they put inside their body is a massive issue ie what is in the Cov jabs, graphene oxide and nanotech.... you may think I am conspiracy theorist ...look for international lawyer, dr. Reihner Fulmich.... ( sorry I intentionally spell his name wrongly so my comment not taken off)

People of the Abrahamic faiths may not agree with the Yuga cycle based age of the Universe and human civilization lasting millions of years. But, respected Professor Carl Sagan of Cornell University, who had traveled extensively to India and Hindu temples was candid to state that Hinduism is the only religion where the time scales agree with the age of the Universe based on scientific calculations.

Technology and social media IS dumbing us down. You can watch a video instead of reading a book or article, but you don't retain what you learned as much by watching a video as by reading because when you read, you can pause and mull over an idea which cuts a groove in your brain. We even had audio books for everything including some services that will read to you the Cliffs Notes version. Also, we used to memorize phone numbers before the advent of the smartphone. We used maps and memorized directions before GPS was created.

Nietzsche said it best: Once upon a time, in some out of the way corner of that universe which is dispersed into numberless twinkling solar systems, there was a star upon which clever beasts invented knowing. That was the most arrogant and mendacious minute of "world history," but nevertheless, it was only a minute. After nature had drawn a few breaths, the star cooled and congealed, and the clever beasts had to die. One might invent such a fable, and yet he still would not have adequately illustrated how miserable, how shadowy and transient, how aimless and arbitrary the human intellect looks within nature. There were eternities during which it did not exist. And when it is all over with the human intellect, nothing will have happened.

I don't know what really was the ancient societies, but one thing I'm certain of, you're the perfect example of what the next one, should and probably will made of. To really appreciate the light, one have to experience the abyss. After WW2, people appreciated what peace really is, one generation later, it was lost in books and they took peace for granted. The reason we don’t read is because we get summarized information from videos, it’s more efficient we add more knowledge per unit of time also why we listen to podcasts and audiobooks, it allows you to do more in parallel with the available time you got.

Yes! It appears as though the awesome Kali cycle has begun. How would we know that the merge with Ai doesn't mark the zenith of the human creation? Did Kali humans miss an opportunity to retain their Dvapara Yuga nature connection?

Light Bulb moment at 14:06 , Maybe this explains why the older parts of Gobeklei Tepe have more complex or advanced art and structures. Is it possible they “discovered” technologies that ultimately dumbed them down?
