Tony Khan's biggest strength is also his biggest weakness. He is a wrestling fan. On the one hand, he's living every diehard wrestling fan's dream by running and booking his own wrestling company. Having said that, he is allowing himself to be consumed by the toxic tribalism within wrestling culture. I for one love AEW. It is the only wrestling that I watch, and it genuinely brought me back as a fan starting with the original All-In. For the first 2 years of their existence, AEW was an actual wrestling alternative. In recent years TK has allowed AEW to experience the pitfalls of a wrestling company such as; misuse of talent (Ethan Page most recent example) and focusing on why the competition "sucks" rather than why AEW is "better." As for the "Pepsi Weinstein" comment, it is in poor taste, and grossly mistimed. I could see this comparison as having weight if Vince McMahon was still running WWE. Now that Triple H is running it, even though the modern WWE product is not for me, I cannot deny that it is leagues better than it was under the previous regime.

The Pepsi and Coke analogy was spot on. They're different enough, but they're both really good! Sometimes you want one more than the other, but it doesn't take away the goodness.

I always enjoy getting to hear you talk about wrestling, and I especially appreciate the mindset of "you don't have to JUST like one or the other", that being said, the ending had me crying with laughter

i member when DDP was bein shoot interviewed bout when WCW was bought out n said he didn't want either brand to go away. he said Pepsi n Coke as much as the brands are not too fond of each other, but they need each other. in other words they bring out the best in each other. a lil competition never hurted anybody. that rings true even today.

When they first started I would have considered them pepsi but the quality has been on the decline so there more like offbrand soda now.

Thank you for this video. I love both companies but it has become clear that something is way off with AEW recently and it does stem from TK and his antics. Similar to another commenter he is a wrestling fan first and a boss second and that has tainted the massive progress that AEW could have and why wwe is super hot. I was at mania this year since it was a quick train ride from me in Philly and the emotions and energy were so high all weekend and why they are the hot ticket. Tna is improving as well. AEW needs to go back to its roots and if TK needs to be brushed aside for a bit to give someone else the reigns and he handles the money then it could be back. PS: I prefer Pepsi over Coke myself cause it has a stronger taste but a good old Root Beer is comfort.

Dude there has been very, very little WWE dogpiling in these comments and surprisingly more AEW fans offended that I would've expected. This is a stupid comedy show, I feel like I've made it so clear that no one show be taking things seriously here, but some just don't get it. =/ Someone told me I was carrying "the AEW hate narrative" forward and "being counter productive." First of all, I don't care about some online jabroni's "narrative." Second of all, yes, YOU nailed it, TK is the one being counter productive. It's sad. I like AEW, too. I've been on with AEW since day one. Things have not been great lately, it is what it is.

Best example I can think of: Cody/Reigns at WM40 and Ospreay/Danielson at Dynasty. Which is better? IT’S SUBJECTIVE! Both are great matches, but in different ways. If you like Storytelling over Wrestling, then you like Cody/Reigns. If you like Wrestling over Storytelling, then you like Ospreay/Danielson. But because of toxicity, both matches are horrible depending on which side you’re in. That’s the IWC and I choose to stay away. I don’t even comment on wrestling posts on Instagram, and if I do, I delete them right away because I know the heat is coming.

Tony Kahn’s remarks on his interview were kinda repulsive. Honestly AEW has kinda lost its appeal to me. Wrestling in general I suppose but I can still tolerate WWE. Pepsi is very good I’ve always enjoyed it better than Coca-Cola. Although I haven’t drank soda in so many years. Just being honest AEW will never take the professional wrestling crown away from WWE! They’re the juggernaut. AEW will always be number 2 but that’s not a bad thing. If anyone thinks of wrestling they think of WWE and AEW both products are very profitable. Nice video Ian 👍🏻
