I just recently shaved down Maverick, my 16-month old Labradoodle puppy. I had to because we live in a small town in Southern NV out in the Mojave Desert, it's in 90s and 100s plus he was badly matted. He's a lot more comfortable than before, he seems a lot happier and isn't panting.

Our AusSiedoodle is 14 months old and had her first short cut a month ago for spring and summer. Her back hair was 1 inch and belly was 3/4 inch. Her head is longer for that 'Tina Turner' look that we love. After her cut she was acting like a puppy again. She seemed freer to run and play. She likes it short.

I don’t shave my doodle but I do clip him shorter during the summer. Summer cut for my dog is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of coat. During the winter it’s easily 4+ inches.

Thank you for your video! I found it very informative. Our chicken herding GoldenDoodle named Bella has a job to do everyday. Recently she even rescued our sweet Orpington Hen from a raccoon as it was trying to eat her and saved her life. Bella is 1 yr old and it is 88 in Chicagoland today. Bella’s coat is gorgeous longer. We love it. Her 1st cut was 2”- very manageable for Spring tic & flea season. YIKES! Now We are daily swimmers. I am shaving her. She is panting all the time. She is super hot. Thanks. Our groomer shaved our cockapoo yesterday and I was horrified. She said she had no choice as he had too many mats. I’m not used to his new look and I’m worried that our cold weather in Canada was not the best time to get him shaved. Help!!!

I have 11 month old golden doodle, and he got matted all over after jumping into friend’s pool. Groomer said the only was to fix is to completely shave. It was done 2 days ago. My dog now seems to have some anxiety when outside , like he keeps turning to check his butt or periodically stops and sits down. I’ve heard and read so much info saying that fur won’t grow back the same and it will be more coarse and unruly, that I’m getting upset and depressed… Did your dog get her hair as soft as it was initially before shave down? Am I stressing myself out for nothing?

Do you have an update? My 6 month old was shaved at the vet today. He was not matted, he was bathed by a groomer a few days earlier. He went in to be neutered…discovered he had an ear infection and they needed to shave inside his ears. They offered to trim around his eyes and his body. He got a complete shave and I’m devastated :(

@@cobol4 I don’t know if it was puppy coat vs adult coat but his hair grew back slightly curlier. If your pup is 11 month, I think she’ll grow back the same. It took about 2 months for my dog to look like himself again 💕

I shaved my dog (a big goldendoodle) about 4 months ago and her fur has really been growing back faster than I expected and it's fluffier (softer and shiny bush) than it was when i got her from her previous owners. had no choice but to shave since she was matted bad and it was taking forever to brush and hurting her after a while. Also i give her a broiled egg (yolky) everyday, idk if it helps but incase that does I'm adding that here.

I love your videos but is there a way I can turn off the music. It gives me a headache and is distracting from listening to you. This is not a put down of your video...I know it is me.
