Love the ZX14R, I've had mine for 4 years, a 2014...love this bike. 58 years old, been riding since I was 17, my first bike was a Yamaha RD250LC...this by far has been the best bike, comfortability, speed...touring....love it!!

A 2019 rider here. Ecu flashed and full pipe. Best bike I've ever owned and ridden. I've got cash in hand for a gen 3 when it happens. There's literally no competition to my current gen 2. So Kawi, make it, and we will buy it!

Chris Moore was surprised how quick/fast the Tesla Plaid (not a Model 3) was and Chris Moore does favor Suzuki, but he did an entire episode comparing the ZX-14 to the Hayabusa. In that episode, Chris fully acknowledges that stock for stock, the ZX-14 is the more powerful, quicker bike and that it is probably the better choice for anyone who intends to keep the bike mostly as it is from the factory. For a drag racer or for anyone who is likely to modify the bike to be very fast/powerful, he cites the fact that the Suzuki engine is much easier to rebuild and that it's much more well suited to tolerating extreme power levels. He also mentions that the ZX-14R has much less aftermarket support for the serious racer and that it's difficult to even remove the fairing on the ZX-14R. But for guys who are happy to ride the bike in stock or even lightly modified form, Chris fully acknowledges that the ZX-14R would be the choice. I own a Gen 1 Hayabusa, and because I'm not a drag racer, I would prefer a Gen II ZX-14R over any Hayabusa, too. If I'm not mistaken, the ZX-14R has better vibration control than does the Hayabusa (an extra counter balancer?). I'm sure someone else knows the answer to that. I hope this helps.

I love my 2012 ZX-14R what a fantastic bike,, I weight 160 LBs @ 5'5" and can ride the heck out of this bike, Once you get it moving it handles like a dream and so smooth, and did I mention the Power OMG this thing is a rocket ship. My only issue is winter is here and I can't wait to get it back out of the garage. Long winters here in Vermont USA. I have buying riding and selling bikes for a while But the ZX-14R I just have to keep there is nothing like it !!!

If kawasaki could make a new supercharged or (turbo?) Zzr with around 300 hp, i will replace my current zzr for it. For me the h2 sx isnt the right replacement for it. New Hayabusa i dont like also because of the specs. It should be faster then the current generation liter bikes like it was, back in the day

Totally agree. The H2sx is NOT a ZZR1400 replacement. Totally different machine, and way too small for me...

They will never put a Supercharger On top of a Kawasak iZxr14r , there Is no room , it has a Honeycomb Style Chassis . Have you ever worked On one , there No room under there You wait till you Chage a set of plugs Ps That why I DON'T change plugs , I leave it to My Bike Mechanic .

Ps These Blokes that do these talk While they ride , are not Switched on Enough while rideing , less Talk and More Focus on rideing , I don't mind Them Talking but stop rideing , some These riders think there hot stuff , I Tell how they ride or how they get excited Or when they open it up a bit , to many cars Around , or side roads flashing bye and Wow Factor they yell out , come to Australia I Take you to outback roads , nobody turning On to roads or cutting you off , most of you Blokes would have a Heat attack if rode With me , and not just the pace , the Km I cover in 1988 a mate and me Rode 1800 Km in a Day , not possible ? Well in those Days let say you could sit on 130 Kph To 150 Kph , just stop fill up and ride Plus I was 25 Then , could not stay awake now We also picked up time with time with Daylight saving , I had it said You don't Pick up time it in your head , well your Wrong you ride that far in the day you Actually are pushing the Sun Back in A sense , that a good third across Australia

I’m giving serious consideration buying one of these when locally available (Oahu). Unfortunately, like so many other things distribution has been a issue and I can’t fully commit until I get a chance to sit on one at at the dealership. Based on what I’ve seen the 2022 model is a carryover from at least the past couple years and I personally think Kawasaki won’t abandon the platform. Suzuki wagged its tail with their latest Hayabusa and Kawasaki countered years ago with the ZXr response. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m a fan of both but know harder heads always prevail. Especially in the motorcycle industry.

Wouldn't it be a total monster if they ended up putting that supercharger into the zx14? Would end up putting all the current batch of liter bikes into their places! Of course it would only available on our side of the pond in us and canada.

I must admit I do like the ZZR1400 and IF I had that kinda cash I would seriously consider getting one. (Because of your videos.. :) But for now, the Yzf is my only form of transport (she still gives me plenty of smiles per mile.) So that makes me an all weather rider. I ware a Spada Camo 2 Textile Motorcycle Jacket Camouflage Black Grey White ~WP and pants over my jeans, t-shirt and hoodie. I find this helps keep me comfortable, not too warm to sweat but warm enough to be comfortable and still flexible enough to ride, hope this helps you with you "freezing your bits off!" Keep up the good work. I don`t blame you not taking her out below freezing... Best wishes from the Lone Wolf in the lakes.

Yes, I hope there is a third generation ZX14R. I own a 2013 ZX14R and I love it. I don't want a supercharged bike like the H2. They should redesign the fairing for a more modern look. I think they should build a super-naked or streetfighter version of the 14, a Z 1441. If Suzuki was able to make a Euro 5 compliant Hayabusa, Kawi could do it with the 14 also. Yes, Euro 5 regs. are affecting the bikes we get in the USA. If it can't pass Euro 5, well it seems the bike gets dropped for everyone.

I doubt if a 3rd Gen will appear in the showrooms, but if it does it's going to have to be super special for me to get rid of my Gen 2. While I like the H2, I won't be trading in for one it just doesn't do it for me the same as the ZZR does.

I have a gen 2 edition in black with green flashes. I'm more than happy with it and am swapping over the stock shock for one with remote pre-load. (I didn't get the performance edition got the SE instead). I will be keeping this bike for a lot of years because it does everything I want well 👍 bumbling round town b roads up to flying down the motorways to mile munch. Oh I've done a straight bar ABM conversion on it too and now it's even comfier for mile munching 😁😉

I have a Concours 14, deep down wish it was a ZX-14, but my bike has no cat, full titanium exhaust, and a dyno re-map and maxes out @ 172 mph. So how much more oomph does one need? Yet I thirst for more and imagine similar mods on a ZX-14. I think these manufactures try to get around emissions nonsense by clever ECU mapping knowing you can easily "fix" all the dumbing down they found necessary to meet the standards.

Drag race is a very special use that very few of us ever engage in. Drag racing against a car is even beyond me. It's a silly comparison in my opinion. Usable power is what I'm interested in. The number of horse power doesn't bother me. It's like judging a man by the size of his ....going down to millimetres - bed performance, stamina and love making is much more than that :-) - some analogy hah? let's think about it: how many of you have ever run out of power on ZZR1400 on a public road? A bike is much more than it's horse power and a Gen 3 would be great.

Whilst many prospective owners might relish a Gen 3 ZZR, I for one believe it's a bad idea and will probably never happen. What are the advantages..a ride by wire throttle offering cruise and launch control ( I believe the Gen 2 already has this for launch starts)...a TFT screen to compliment the existing anologue dials...a more all singing all dancing electronics package ( the one it has works just fine). Sure they could spend years revamping the engine to try to give similar power whilst complying with latest emissions, requiring a huge Cat and exhausts the size of colliery chimneys. Whilst at the same time sacrificing engine/induction and exhaust tone 👎. I'm fortunate enough to own the last Gen 2 sold in Europe because I saw the opportunity and grasped it. I did worry the Gen 3 Bussa would steal the ZZR'S Crown, it didn't, it fell short. Fair play to Suzuki for the valiant effort, they've produced the best they could under the restrictions imposed. High praise to Kawasaki for keeping it real, just like it was originally designed to be...."The King"!!

GREEN/GREEN is my favorite 2nd gen scheme (2015). I'm partial to this combo as I own the beast. Yours is an exceptional combination as well. Curious being from Texas what are the EU emissions regulations going to mean for ZX14/R owners?

  • @Loiczzr
    @Loiczzr Жыл бұрын

Zx14r as more restrictions than the busa. (Gen3) a friend of mine had a zx14 then bought an h2 sx se and said that the 14 is actually much faster and much cheaper than the h2 sxse . I found that disappointing..

Isn't it about time that we told manufacturers that fairings are just better than naked bikes... fashion for the cafe racer has gone too far away from practicality. What is the point in making most of Triumph's offerings more cold and uncomfortable than necessary? Any third generation of ZZR1400 needs to have perhaps a fairing as good as a ZZR11OO

Just wanted to write about a turbo Blackbird.....that's going to be mental and probably not feasable for the road... Would love an zzr engine with old specs on a new streetfighter , but even the Z H2 isn't getting love from the emmisions board.

They already axed the concours. That bike was hideous anyway. Make the ZX-14RT available. A 14R with cruise and heated grips standard, with a hard bag option, and shaft or belt drive. Basically a good-looking Concours.
