Nice video brother! I used to have a MacBook (not pro), in 2008-2012, I loved that thing, but too expensive. I ended up getting mine at the time by financing it at Long & McQuade, before they stopped selling them there.

Get the chrome pluggin to remove 60Fps and ypu will be able to watch 1080p 30fps videos fine

Yes it is. To me these MacBooks are built way better than any of apples newest Macs, not to mention I can still repair these my self without components malfunctioning.

Most common fix that will bring new life into any of these computers is surprisingly a fresh HDD/SSD SATA Cable. 💯 Love these computers! 💙

I sometimes still use my 2008 MacBook Pro with a Core 2 Duo P8600, 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, and 256 GB SSD. I still use it on el cap. I mainly use it to run older software. It is pretty fast on el capitan ngl

Your right my friend. No argument but the one thing that I am really starting to like about OCLP is that it just keeps getting better and better and the more machines supported for Monterey and Ventura and the post install patches are getting better too. More stable on older machines than ever in my recent experience at least. 🙏 The thing that no one likes to do which is key is sit there and read all the developer and patch notes for your exact system and the OS you’re trying to install. I’ve learned to do that these days with a lot of things. Cars and the exact forum of that model can tell you a lot about it from owners who post and help to make an informed decision before you buy. 💯 Just an example. 🙏

That's a good question. On this computer I would say try the newest supported macOS for OCLP and if that doesn't work I would run EL-Capitan. Not much you can do if your is glitch/slower on the newest OCLP my friend. Make sure to install your Post-Install Patches. I would read the OCLP forms and install notes for your exact computer too just to be safe and save time. 🙏
I just got ahold of a 13 inch 2009 macbook pro, has a 250gb sata ssd with Ubuntu Mate 22.04 installed. has 2x2gb sticks of ram, hoping to double it to 8.

Brilliant! 💪💯🔥 8GB or higher and you’ll be golden. Try to aim for a WD or Samsung SSD because those are more stable with these Macs at least in my experience. 🙏

I’d go with the 2011 if you can find one in good condition my friend. Will have batter Bluetooth and Battery management. 🙏

I used OCLP. Open Core Legacy Patcher. I have a video on how to do it as well. 🙏
A sad thing is that you can't upgrade CPU..
Next up is an early 2009 iMac still useable???

@@TechInsomnia did you had any problems on the accelerated graphics? Maybe Big Sur could boosts it since it supports it more than the OCLP Monterey..
My grandma got this laptop and i have hp 250 g1 from 2014 and this macbook from 2009 looks so much better and my laptop have 4gb of ram and this laptop have 8gb of ram
