Is 2 Fast 2 Furious The Best In The Franchise?

Ойын-сауық

By this point, most fans think of the Fast and Furious franchise as more of a circus than it's roots as a street racing franchise. Though after Vin Diesel didn't return after The Fast and the Furious for 2 Fast 2 Furious, it wasn't clear the franchise had much gas left in the tank. 2 Fast 2 Furious is now thought to be a lower tier installment in the Fast Franchise, but looking back, the movie is a lot better than you probably remember. 2 Fast 2 Furious not only introduced Tyrese's Roman Pierce and Ludacris's Tej, but it also started the trend of amplifying what made The Fast and the Furious so much fun. We may have gotten away from racing down the streets of Miami, but without 2 Fast 2 Furious we may not have 10 installments, with an 11th on the way.

I think both dynamics work greatly for their respective movies. FF1 is more of a interpersonal drama while FF2 is closer to a buddy comedy. Brian and Dom don't know each other and have to build that brotherly bond over time, while Brian and Roman have a history and can play off each other.

I think that too, I think Tyrese was much more willing to play funny but serious. I have to admit... I started to resent Vin's overly serious and "badass" character, not like there isn't charm to him... in the early movies, but the recent movies just... they bore me, and make me not like Don anymore.

I have a high affinity for the "Classic" era of The Fast and the Furious franchise. 1, 2, and Tokyo Drift are all a little bit different but all have a very clear understanding of what the franchise is all about. Fast cars, family, and most importantly racing. After these three films the franchise jumps the shark, in a good way to be clear, but the simplicity and low stakes of the first three movies is extremely charming and a great time capsule of that early-mid 2000s era.

As the franchise has gone completely bonkers, OG fans went back to advocate for the original trilogy, yet i STILL don't see enough recognition for 2F2F. I'm gona be honest, 2F2F has been, and at this point will always be my favorite F&F movie, it has everything, JDMs, muscles, exotics, pink slips, sprints, circuits, chases, THE SCRAMBLE BABY! it's the only movie where Roman is legitimately funny. Singleton's hip hop music video vibe completely fits the NFS Underground 2 world phenomenon at the time and i still happened to be a full raphead back then, and on the side note, Singleton was the one who discovered Pitbull and arguably made him the world wide superstar he turned out to be later on. On the rewatch the stakes feel real and very high and keep bloating throughout the movie, which gave it even more tension to the scenes, Brian and Roman's friendship does feel more real in 1 movie, than Dom and Brian's "brotherhood" in 5 movies. I missed the first F&F in theaters, but after picking it up at Blockbuster me and my dad were the first ones in line for the 2F2F premiere, my heart was racing the entire time and we never missed another F&F movie in theaters again lol.

Idk if I said it on one of your older videos or not. But 2 Fast 2 Furious then Tokyo Drift, was a good way to go. We should've gotten a bunch of different fast and furious movies with Doms story being told at the end scenes ever so often. Then wrap up with the main characters of those movies as the cast of the final 3 movies. The racing scene is all around the world. Every country has one. There was a lot of content there

2F2F has always been my favorite in the franchise, when I was a kid I've probably watched it twice a week and when I was older I found out there was a prelude made for the movie which totally blew my mind Never understood the hate, especially when you look at the couple of the last few entries in the franchise which in my opinion suck a lot...

I used to watch this movie all the time. Me and my best friend LOVED the first movie, to the point where we could basically reenact the whole thing. The second one came out and we automatically loved it. Then when I was 20 years old, in 2007, I bought a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spider, the same car that Rome drove in the movie. Mine was red but it had similar(ish) side decals and it was a convertible. If you saw the movie and saw my car you would make the connection pretty easily. Anyways, I installed a DVD player in the car and kept 2Fast 2Furious in it at all times so I could pop it in and make jokes and try to impress girls lol. We were 20 years old, we grew up in a very small town, and no one had money, so it was like the coolest thing in the world to have the same car as Rome in 2Fast 2Furious.

This is in my personal top three for the franchise (Fast 5, Furious 7, 2 Fast 2 Furious). Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris had amazing chemistry together and were funny. It had nice cars and some good action. There is something about it that keep me coming back.

2F2F and Tokyo Drift are the absolute best FF movies. They capture the culture, still care about the cars, it was pure street racing and the characters felt real and relatable. When the movies became larger than life crime movies with the drama and explosion that is when it went downhill.

2 Fast 2 Furious is easily one of my favourites out of the entire franchise. the chemistry between Tyrese and Paul Walker was impeccable and the number of quotable lines makes it stand out. to this day i still say "my pockets ain't empty cuh" or "cause i'm hUNGry" or "ejecto seato cuz" when i land a snipe. wild to see it wasn't well received by critics.

This is my childhood movie. I wanted nothing but to be apart of the underground scene cause of this and growing up in south florida where emisions testing doesnt exist and the local PD doesnt get involved in your cars. Minus the whole drug cartel story line, its been at times like this. Meet up in locations, finding places to race, building relationships talking mad shit. Everyone actually having cars they are dedicated to. Ending up at random afterparties or even sometimes clubs and shit with the crew. It was def a different time. NGL miss it.

I looked down on Fast & Furious for most of my life, honestly even at action as a genre; when I watched Fury Road I understood what could be great about it, but still had a hard time with the more, for lack of a better term (but with 0 moral judgement) stupid kind of action I watched most of the franchise in a few days and the first three were what helped me get it and enjoy those kinda of movies, specially this second one that was just so fun I couldn't look down on it anymore, totally get why people love the franchise and they should give this one another shot

The first two movies have lines of dialogue still used today in the car community. Not so much the third onward, if at all. The first 3 however are a good milestone to me as it's a reminder of the times we can finally pull out our summer-only cars after 10 months of cold then get rolling feeling better. You won't see Corvettes, Ferrari Spyders, and McLarens out in the slush. =Þ A good tie-in with the movies was with Streetglow which made F&F licensed neon and LED accessories which I indulged in and still have .... 6 tubes left? Those kits came with die cast cars from 1 and 2 so that was neat. The neon plate frames and exhaust tips were awesome but in my case attracted the local police who didn't know crap from applesauce. It was my time to educate them about the legality of DOT approved aftermarket products. The fourth movie (soft reboot) is fine as it still had some racing in it and was still grounded in reality. No physics defying stunts and the action hero nonsense was kept to a minimum. .....and, no, nitrous is not explosive. Every mechanic and car fan knows this. Hollywood has a tendency to warp ignorant minds. Even the label on my nitrous bottle claims it. Green diamond: "Non-flammable gas (2)". Think of it as an inhaler for the engine. You'd perform a _lot_ better after inhaling 100% medical grade oxygen and will want to punch a bear in the snout.

Can you make a video defending other movies, or at least the directors behind them? There are a lot of directors that deserve more credit than the writers and the producers behind them, like... * Andy Muschietti (Flash) * José Padilha (Robocop) * Marc Webb (TASM2) * David F. Sandberg (Shazam: Fury of The Gods) * Tim Miller (Terminator: Dark Fate) * Dave Green (TMNT: Out of Shadows)
