I've been a longtime Connor fan since 2016 and I'm not sure if people would remember this but he's made a video about his experience with a girl called Allie who had a condition that didn't guarantee if she would live a long life, where her condition could worsen at any time. Hearing this clip made me remember the emotions Connor had when talking about that girl. He has a very soft spot for people who lost the health gacha in life to the point where he cried on camera. I'm glad Connor is still the same Connor that I've been watching for all these years

I feel like this happened both ways. Connor helped Mouse to come out of her shell as much as Mouse helped Connor changing his views around some stuff. It's a small example, but in the cycling stream's video on his channel, he, and I paraphrase, mentioned that "he found the idea of IRL streaming dumb, but after trying it once and seeing people's reaction and being able to show Mouse all around Japan made him realize that it's actually really fun".

I think it's also really important in the wake of covid because a lot of people are suffering from conditions chalked up to a vague "chronic inflammation" and there's loads of new cases of mast cell disease and histamine intolerance and i believe fibromyalgia and pots as well post covid. Chronic illnesses in general are so poorly understood, especially ones that disproportionately affect women. It's actually really interesting that there's conflicting data on which sex has more chronic illnesses, because a lot of things say men get chronic conditions earlier and have more of them, but there's substantial evidence it takes women literal years later to get the same diagnosis as men, so getting accurate statistics becomes even harder. I say this from both a point of genuine interest, but also frustration with the medical system that i think a lot of chronically ill people have. But as a chronically ill person myself, normalization of chronic illnesses socially is also incredible too.

This is probably TMI but it is positive so I'll say it anyway (nobody going to read this lol) I'm forever grateful for finding said friends as they have literally saved my life. I've been struggling with some mental issues for a while now but one of the main reasons I can confidently say that things got better and that I'm sure I'll will never do *it* is because of how wonderful they've been to me, so even if it all goes bad again and I lost the little bit of self-worth I've managed to build for myself in recent times I don't believe I'd be able to "hurt" myself just out of consideration for them, they've helped me so much in the last few years that it would be extremely ungrateful from my part to just throw it all away.

and iron mouse has been to japan in spirit thanks to connor, like connor is such a genuinly good guy. ofcourse iron mouse is such a cute little gremlin and connor has helped her so much and she basically made connor even better with dealing with his emotion and she made him an incredible person by just being his friends, this is what actual friendship is, no strings attached but just being nice to eachother for no reason except for friendship.

I can not even begin to imagine the struggle ironmouse deals with on a daily basis. But she's so strong, she is so incredible and her opening up, opened up not just a gateway for her to find support, but it opened up a way for more people to learn about it. People can now help by donating and by learning and listening. And she did that. She helped so many just by opening up with him, and he helped by being a goog listener and by using his platform so she and many others can finally get more support from the world. ❤❤ Sometimes, when everything seems bleak, hope comes to shatter through despair. Hope is very infectious. It is a beautiful emotion, and she has given that same hope and strength to others who also suffer with this disease. ❤

Connor going straight into saying Mousey and him are a team and saying how she's reliable and stuff, that just goes to show he doesn't think of himself as like her babysitter, he's not taking pity on her, he genuinely considers her to be his equal, bet that's why they tease and mock eachother all the time yet love to spend time together, they get eachother ^^

I always love hearing them recount how they met, and when. I had been following CDawgVA since 2018 or so and was aware of ironmouse at that time but wasn't watching vtubers yet. Then, I decided to try vtubing in 2019 and followed a bunch of high-profile and successful vtubers, which ironmouse has always been at the top of that list. I still wasn't following her for content, just trying to decipher style and what works. Then I started noticing the colabs, and that's when i actually started liking ironmouse, through connor, but I still have a hard time imagining one without the other.
