it still has repulsors and the like. Just no tank missiles, or bullets or anything like that. Although the iron man suit, even the mark II is still incredibly dangerous with just repulsors.

Natasha confirms in the same movie that Tony put subroutines in all his suits that prevent unauthorized persons from using them. Rhodey is one of very few people on that whitelist.

Just watched the 3rd and AIM did the iron patriot redesign so they had access to the suit before they captured rhodes

@@aleksszukovskis2074 Meh it wasn't experience it was a personal thing.... They could have sent those tanks Rhodes was talking about to take the suits, but they'd wouldn't have gotten to use it. At that point I don't think it would have blown up up but at that point tony struck me as the kind of person who would have had that shit wipe out all the electronics and tech in a base if they stole his shit.

So, Tony knew that at some point, Army will lose its patience with him and will demand suit, and all its technologies to be released to them unconditionally, on grounds of it being essentially walking WMD. He knew that Rhodey, being who he is, will be forced to carry out his orders, despite him being his best friend, He also knew that he is dying. So, he modified one of the suits in his workshop to size of Rhodes, put in independent source of power, with easy( for Army) know-how to insert paladium, and instrcted J.A.R.V.I.S. to help him put it on, when the time comes. Then, he prepared massive party on which he behaved like himself way before The Cave. All of it to put smokescreen on the fact he allowed Rhodes to take one of his suits with him back to the Army guys. Part of his heritage , one might say. Also proof that Tony can be devious and as slippery as Loki himself if hewants to.

Rhodey also seems to realized that as he don't just blindly giving MK2 to his superior, but persisting that anything about that suit has to be done within his permission. Though he probably loosened up during Iron Man 3 as he allowed it to be repainted as Iron Patriot.

I think Cheadle really fit Rhodey very well. The only problem I had was losing Howard for continuity, but frankly Cheadle picked up the slack perfectly.

When the guy gets shocked it sounds like one of the death noises from the NPCs in N64 Goldeneye. Can’t Unhear it now.

This should have been in the movie. The moment where the guy tries to tamper with the suit to get zapped is funnier than it should be. Plus, I'd say this also sets up Rhodey's character as War Machine because its obvious that even though he stole the suit, he still wants to keep it as secret as possible so no one is allowed to do anything without his permission. Probably some combination of respect for Tony and his duty to the military.

Not necessarily secret, but ethical. It really puts emphasis on why, Tony let him take the suit. He has the heart to not just be a gun following orders. Not just a pawn of military industry. Tony trusted Rhodey to keep to the spirit of the iron man mantle. After all, Tony created it after discovering the weapons he sold were misused and empowered crooks. The iron man suit was created to be better than that. And here we see, Rhodey doing just that. All in all a cool scene. It really should have made the cut. It adds a lot to the story.

On Iron man 1 mark 2 and mark 3 didn't had an integrated arc reactor.. that's why tony needed to use the one pepper used to make a gift for him.. if mark 3 or 2 had an integrated arc reactor, tony would've used it instead of using his first one that he made on the cave and was on low energy

Wrong. voltage does not kill, amperage does. So the voltage could very well knock him back but as long as the current doesn’t have very high amps he could very well live. The fact it was not a sustained current gives him pretty good odds. Remember a light night bolt can most definitely toss you but is not necessarily lethal and that’s a lot more volts and amps then that

@@willjenkins4195 i'd be curious what the odds of surviving a direct hit by a bolt of lightning is. a taser has enough voltage to interrupt your heart beat enough to kill you, with very low amperage. there isn't enough voltage in a taser to send a large grown man flying 10+ feet. how much current do you think would be required to carry enough voltage to do that to a man? i wasn't meaning to be technical about the possibilities of him being killed in my original comment, i was simply commenting on the fact that the man would likely be badly hurt, and their extreme display of indifference to his well-being. but if you want to get technical, that man would be in very bad shape after a shock like that.

Graham H actually quite high over 90% of people survive a lightning strike. As far as a taser I’m relatively sure that unless they have a heart condition or they are hit multiple times most tasers can only do 2 mA which Is well below the threshold to stop or damage your heart. Another gator is how long the current is sustained, which is the big reason lightning strikes aren’t so fatal, it might disrupt your hearts rhythm but it’s do short it typically doesn’t do substantial damage to it. Honestly I’ve seem people working on farm implements get tossed back (not that far cause that’s movie magic of course) but ya know knocked off their feet real good and they recover just fine

With the theory going around that Rhodes is a skrull this makes the scene a lot more scary because if he was a alien pretending to be Rhodes he would want all the weapons he could get

It's not outfitted with any weapons other than the repulsers, because they are needed for flight stabilisation, they aren't the best for when taking enemies out whilst airborne or for group encounters. So compared to the suit Tony was wearing even back then, it was severely unarmed.

@Bistocracy The Arc Reactor that Tony uses (which is embedded into his chest), is not just to power the suit, but also to keep the shrapnel from entering his heart (and killing him instantly). It's conceivable, that other suits (such as Rhodey's Mark 2 suit), has the Arc Reactor built into it, and if Tony for whatever reason chose to wear the Mark 2, he'd have his own reactor as a "backup" incase the embedded one should fail.

I'm glad they took this scene out. there's no way in HELL they'd let a Colonel call the shots on when a fucking IRON MAN suit is deployed instead of the secretary of the Air Force.

Mark I = Armor he used to escape cave. Mark II = Armor he created when he got home; flew up to the sky, froze, and then Tony kept it at his garage. Rhodey stole it, and this suit became modified into the War Machine, and in Iron Man 3, the Iron Patriot Mark III = Red and gold suit he used in iron man. damaged in his fight with obadiah. Mark IV = identical to Mark III, but lighter. Uses it in Iron Man 2. Mark V = Suitcase armor. Mark VI = One with palladium triangular chest piece.

I like both actors for both movies. I think that each actor is very good.

the Arc Reactor in Tony's chest is not the sole provider of power in his suits; all of his suits have multiple power generators including a solar energy receiver. when Rhodes took the War Machine prototype, it already came equipped with all necessary power sources.
