I think the Di'Anno Maiden songs stand the test of time far better than the Dickinson era. Early stuff still seems fresh 30 years later.

Maiden was never the same without Dianno. The first two albums were awesome!

This is the perfect cross between heavy metal and punk. As raw and in-your-face as it can be! Not that today's Maiden is worse than the first incarnation of the band, they were just so different back then. And the pure energy of the past seems to have disappeared today in favor of much more elaborate and complex (and sometimes boring) song structures...

yeah they're newer songs from the final frontier are good, but not what they used to be. satellite 15 is really good though imo. but alot of bands are like that like metallica, nickelback or guns n roses and they've changed over the years.

man you are spot on. I loved the punk/metal cross. I saw Maiden 50+ times as a club band and every gig was superb. Ahh those were the days BEFORE THEY WENT MAINSTREAM METAL WITH BRUCEY BONUS AND TING TING TING NICKO. (Clive RIP - you were a God)

I was either 17 or 18 when this was shot in 1980. The year I graduated from High School. Im 50 now. Bloody fuck?!!!!!

I have respect for Paul, Dennis & Clive. All of them had to be replaced, but all three are part of Maiden history.

Paul Di'Anno will always be the voice of Maiden, don't compare Bruce and Paul, they have different vocal scales. And Di'Anno was fucking incredible on IM and Killers. NO ONE sings Charlotte the Harlot like Paul.

This is one reunion I would love to happen. It has been 35 years since Paul Dianno has been the singer for Maiden. One reunion tour would be amazing. I know Paul's singing might not be what it used to be but I would still go .

I remember being 13ish and watching over and over again The Live after Death vhs tape, then seeing this on the 12 Wasted Years vhs tape after the Stranger in a Strange Land opening and thinking what the fuck is this shit? It took a while to sink in that Maiden were once a tiny pub band. Now I watch this and just think it's fucking off the scale. The atmosphere must've been unbelievable. I love Bruce but Paul was just as good. I wish Maiden would go back to their roots and do a small venue tour.

The rawness and enery of the old maiden is but a memory. Not to diss bruce or brian but it became a totally different band. Loved all the albums as a kid....but as a music addicted adult only the first 2 albums remain as frequently played.

The eighties were so kickass! Without the internet, and spending time hanging on the streets...great times! Also unfortunaly the end for the 'Real Punk' scene.
