Iron Maiden are the philosophers of metal music. Their work is based on history, philosophy, poetry, or human nature. Some people find it boring because it generally lacks the shredding most people expect....but.... there is a reason they are the tip of the metal pyramid of greatness.

Mainly composer of the band is bassist and founder/leader Steve Harris. In this particular album they introduced synth guitars and synths .First album i heard when i was 12 and 30 years later still is my desert island album... Somewhere In time god bless Maiden As Greek this song means a lot in many many ways and its one of the few songs that they have never played it live anywhere in the world If i can suggest more Maiden songs...Somewhere in time (obviously), Infinite dreams, To Tame a land, where the wild wind blows and The Prisoner...basically any Maiden song is great hehehe...and definately check live versions ...best live band in the world hands down... And if that helps compared to Hallowed be thy name video ( which i saw before this) the music was lowered in this one ....voice tracks was the same...hope that helps...and dont mind us ...its reaction video...if u wanna scream...scream :) Keep it up guys...found your channel yesterday...subscribed...and spamming :)

I'm no rabid fan, but it's obvious when you watch their LIVE video's. If you react to any, I would go with your followers recommendations. Love your "shits & giggles," keep em coming. *\m/* _PS- I won't bore you with my own faves, you get enough suggestions. I suspect they will get covered at some point. Maiden are the reason that, at 57 years of age, my hair still hangs half way down my back, I still have seven guitars, effects, a PA and a Marshall valve stack in the house, in the hope that some day soon a metal band will reach out for a lead guitarist and vocalist, so I can go back on stage again after 15 years, the way Maiden persuaded me to play my own songs live in front of an audience when I was 18. And I'm not sorry to say that I love doing a chugging galloping riff a la Maiden. It's not stealing if you learn from the best: it's homage. At every one of countless gigs I did in The Uninvited, and live on Capital Radio in the UK, I never failed to acknowledge my debt to Iron Maiden. Up The Irons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty cool to watch. I remember when I bought this LP (yeah LP) the first day I could get it at the record shop and listened to this song first.. Since I was such a fan of History, this particular song really knocked me down... I thought the song was winding down when all of a sudden....'A Phrygian King had bound a chariot yoke And Alexander cut the 'Gordian knot'' I was jumping around my room. Fun to watch the reaction when the song kicks in again. Such a long song, so smooth. One of my favorites

When I first started playing bass(1983), I was a die-hard Maiden fan. This is from the last Maiden album I bought ( though I have caught up on Spotify). I love the first 5 albums still the best. By the end of the 80s my playing had me moving on to funk, blues and jazz((though my love of progressive music is still my #1). For me, no matter what genre, you either like a song, or not. There are no guilty pleasures. I may listen to Tears For Fears in the morning, Rush at noon, Gojira at the gym, and Dwight Yoakam that evening....or Porcupine Tree, or Riverside, or Anathema (another gem of a band...they write BEAUTIFUL prog songs despite the name), or The Police.....

In my opinion, you can talk as much as you want over the music. It's a reaction after all. For your next Maiden reaction, I'd suggest Dance of Death, as it's a completely different sounding song to the others you've done. One other thing, you've previously said that you wouldn't do any "cookie monster" stuff. I'm not the biggest fan of that stuff either, but I implore you to check out the song Under the Red Cloud from Amorphis just as an experiment. The band combines melodic music and great singer who does exceptional clean singing, which he occasionally accentuates with growls. His performances have really sold me on growling as a spice that, when used sparingly, can really improve a song.

In my opinion, their best song of all time is Flash Of The Blade from their Powerslave album. Please do this song. Also, fyi, NOBODY that I can find on youtube has reacted to it yet. Up The Irons!

'Rime of the Ancient Mariner', 'Alexander the Great' and 'To Tame a Land' go pretty well together in my opinion. I like you guys and enjoy your reactions! I kindly advise you to consider turning up the volume of the music a bit so that it's equal with your voices. When I hike the volume up for the song your speaking is loud so that my kitters jump! :) I would like to see you guys react to 'Sea of Madness' and 'Stranger in a Strange Land' from 'Somewhere In Time'! Blessings and Up the Irons!!

Best song on Somewhere In Time, an album full of great songs IMO. My fourth favourite Maiden album after Number of the Beast, Powerslave and Piece of Mind.
