The weather here is so weird. We should have feet of snow, but it's another mild year. I'm thinking of transplanting my iris's now since the soil I don't think is frozen and move them to a full sun area. We're in 6a in NY, so my thought is I move them now because if this weather holds, they'll start growing in March like last year.. which I want to avoid. Worst case, they don't flower but at least they'll be in a better location.

Thank you for sharing. I don’t know much about transplanting iris in winter. I would like to know how it turns out.

OHHH 😯. I keep trying to cover them up. It drives me crazy to see them sticking out of ground they always seem to migrate up and out of the ground. And I try to put more soil on them and bury them lol. So glad you made this video thank you. I have some rhizomes that I took from my other house in a pot with no lleaves or rroots so how would you bury that just bury it halfway or a little bit into the soil?? Great info, thank you.

So glad you found this helpful! In my experience it is always best to leave the rhizome sticking out of the ground, leaves or no leaves. It rots so easily when covered. Thanks for watching.
