Ireland, Spain and Norway to recognize Palestinian statehood | DW News

Norway, Ireland, and Spain have said they will recognize Palestinian statehood. Several other European countries have indicated in the past few weeks that they plan on recognizing a Palestinian state, arguing a two-state solution is essential for lasting peace in the region. Israel recalled its ambassadors from Ireland and Norway in response to their announcements. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz condemned Ireland and Norway's actions, saying they would be "rewarding the jihadists of Hamas and Iran."

yay, Ireland and Spain want to get back Northern Ireland and Gibraltar from UK, that's why. These 2 countries are not supporting Palestinians' lost cause. There shall be more wars because a palestinian state means invalidating post-war land partitions affecting countries particularly in Asia. For one, mainland China is following suit to claim legally, own, control, and exploit south China sea on the basis that it has stamped its name "China" on that body of water; nulling and making void the UNCLOS ruling and Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesian claims on its territorial waters. This palestinian statehood is a precedence for Singapore to be returned to Malaysia, Ukraine & the Baltics back to the defunct USSR, and similar cases.

At least some countries are not hypocrites like others: USA talking about a two state solution while vetoing any initiative at the UN that helps in that direction. There was a two-state solution 70 years ago. Arabs decided that a war to exterminate Israel was a better option. They failed. Then they tried again, 4 times. Every time the result was the same. You talk about hypocrisy while your own nation denies Catalonians and the Basque their freedom. Do you really want to talk about human rights abuses, Spaniard? A tiny piece of land in a vast subcontinent of Arab dominant countries. And yet the hate and discrimination is so fierce that they can't allow Israel to exist without constantly waging war against them (from day one, even after they fled a holocaust by a regime that those Arab countries sided with in WW2). That's the bottom line, looking at it from the thousand foot view. Now decades of grievances and terrible acts by all sides have blurred the big picture.
