🇰🇷 🇮🇶 South Korean Samgong KM9A1 Gas mask used by the Iraqi Military during Desert Storm, this mask is possibly dated July 1982, but this may not be the masks date
The KM9A1 was a Korean military and civil defense and police mask used from the early 70s-early 90s. They were also exported to Iran and Iraq, such as this. For example, this mask has a large amount of oxidation, sand, and melting present on the rubber.
The KM9A1 is the South Korean copy of the United States Korean War M9 or M9A1 Field Protective Gas Mask, the head harness is probably the worst part about this mask, it is horribly hardened and the straps are stiffened greatly.
This mask is horrifically rare in the states, with only two showing up recently, one being on Reddit and the other being sold by Pixelproductions_100. I originally thought this mask was an early M9 Field Protective Mask with black butyl rubber, when it came in the mail I was greatly disappointed, yet when I found how rare these masks are, I was rather joyous.
The carrier to this mask is a Yugoslavian M-1 carrier marked with Arabic writing. It is most definitely an Iraqi used carrier and still has the filter stopper inside.
