Fun fact: IQ air was the first company to manufacture residential air purifiers back in the 1960s. In the 90s the released the first medical grade air purifiers. The health pro plus has been around for a very long time. Hopefully they will update the design and make it more modern looking and easier to put together.

Hello! I just got my health pro plus yesterday and it has that sweet smell in the air. Would this be sinply because it's new or a filter issue like people had in the past?

Most likely it's just because it's new.
Which of the 2 is better for mold mycotoxins the health pro plus or the gc multigas? Also would the atem good for mycotoxins

I expect performance for mold would be essentially the same on both of the Pro Plus and GC MultiGas. I'm sure Atem is fine as well. These are 3 of the highest performance units on the market.
IQ Air vs AirDoctor.. Both filter down to .003 so which would you say is the better value?

Any reason why the Healthpro plus filters PM10 better? I thought the GC multigas was the same unit except having added filters for better VOC purification
@ModernCastle

While the HealthPro Plus was 0.1 better on PM10, that performance difference is basically nothing. The margin of difference between 0.1 and 0.2 is incredibly narrow.

Would you consider testing some of the knock-off replacement filters?

It's something I've thought about, but I'm not sure where to even begin with these knock offs...there are so many different brands (some of them quite shady) for every major air purifier brand. Maybe we'll just do a video on generic / knockoff HEPA filters for a range of air purifiers. In any case, thanks for the suggestion. I'll put this on our list.

@@lemons12ful You're welcome. I have not heard of or tested Jaspr. Though I would estimate their notion of "Surgically Clean Air" is nothing but marketing puffery. You said the HEPA filters 0.3 microns but isnt it 0.003 microns as per stated on their website? 'Filters 99.5% particles ≥ 0.003 microns'
@ModernCastle
Жыл бұрын
I guess I should have been more clear on this. My apologies for the confusion. According to the EPA a HEPA filter is a "type of air filter can theoretically remove at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria, and any airborne particles with a size of 0.3 microns (µm)." Source - www.epa.gov/indoor-air-quality-iaq/what-hepa-filter IQAir calls what they are using "HyperHEPA", which is a marketing term with no legal definition. In general, I ignore marketing speaking on all products we test and we just focus on legally defined and objective facts that we can analyze and test.

@@thedayofreckoningiscoming2377 Yeah...I just took a look at their Amazon product page. Just red flags all over the place. 1) Never heard of this brand 2) The physical size of the unit just doesn't match the coverage level. Coverage is largely determined by the physical size of the motors and fans. This thing is just too small to create 1100 sq. ft. of coverage area 3) Almost 40 reviews and almost every single one of them is 5 stars? It just screams fake reviews.

There's supposed to be a "HealthPro Plus XE" that has wifi smart app integration, built-in air quality sensor, and smart-mode sensor-based operation (and a redesigned fan for greater efficiency, and, I suppose, lower noise) for $300 more than the Plus.

Do you think should I get this Iqair Pro Plus for my open-concept living room, dining room, kitchen, and foyer and use Levoit 400s for the bedrooms and office OR should I get the multiple 600s for the open-concept rooms and get 400s for the bedrooms and office? Money is no issue. My concern with the IQAir is that it doesn't have an auto function, an app where I can remotely control it, and it looks ugly lol.
@ModernCastle
11 ай бұрын
There is no doubt that the IQAir is the better air purifier...provided you're okay with the aesthetic and the lack of auto mode. Most of the time the auto mode really isn't needed...just turn it on low or medium and leave it on 24/7. This is basically the setup I have in my home...I have smaller units in the bedrooms + a large IQAir in my open concept area. I leave it on low most of the time and then if needed I'll put it on max power (during cooking or right before friends come over, etc.)
@QJHKI

@ModernCastle I've just discussed with the missus. One of the options we're thinking now is to get 5 iqair pro plus. So each iq air pro plus in each bedroom (3 bedrooms), 1 for the foyer, and 1 for the open rooms. I know this is overkill but we're living in a condo in one the top 5 most polluted city in the world. So, this investment might be worth it. After scrolling on the internet, for the smart feature part, we can use smart plug to remotely turn on the iqair units. I personally prefer this so far, just because I know the result would be the best for going this route lol.
@ModernCastle
11 ай бұрын
@@QJHKI Yep, that's a great option as well. It is perhaps overkill, but with 5 units going you probably could extend the life of those HEPA filters much longer, so you won't have to replace each filter as often. I don't think you'd be disappointed with that setup.
