Thank you for the informative video, all those springs dropped out on me and had no idea where that lil check valve went. thank you and god bless
Thank you for the breakdown. The plugs and overflow etc. info was very helpful on this new sealed craziness.
great video... gonna be doing this this weekend. wish me luck!!
I really gotta get this for my 5.7 tundra. Put the supercharger and its awesome but the transmission is way slow. Plus i do a lot of towing. Dont mind hard shifts, thats what a truck is supposed to do
Nice, This will help when I work on the transmission.
Thank you for the video. I have a "shift solenoid D" code and a leak from my extension house seal. Not sure where the solenoid D is located. Parts guy at Toyota didnt know either. Any help?
Great video! I have a question on a 2009 4Runner with a code showing p2714. I want to replace the solenoids that retain to this code. Is this a specific solenoid or dose it include all 3?
Question, which one is the Pressure Control Solenoid an are the color coded?
my a750f has a pretty nasty cold 4-5 shift and the 4th and 5th gear under moderate throttle just feels like its surging... Will the valve body be able to correct this. or am i looking at a bigger issue?
Great vid ,,Could you tell me where the Shift solenoid E is located ?
I know what I'm doing this summer.
Hello from Puerto Rico . I have a 2007 fj auto matic . Never l change the trasmisión oil . Is raid now 100.000 mile about 7.000.00 for year 2020 proximity . I asking l can't change at this time the oil and filter . Or liver like is . What you recomend me? To do thanks, God bless you
For this transmission - the Toyota service manual calls for transmission fluid temp to be at a specific reading before loosening level plug. Dealer techs use Toyota techstream to read fluid temp which is supposedly stored somewhere in the CAN. You say drive it 'til at full operating temp, then loosen level plug again? That temp would be way above what Toyota indicates in their FSM. I like your idea as it's simple, but goes against what Toyota publishes. Thanks for putting this video together.

+John Smith your right the trans temp needs to be at a specific temperature to adjust the transmission fluid, some where around 105 degrees if i remember correctly , then the over flow plug is removed to adjust ATF level.

You can use a jumper to bridge 2 of the ports in the OBD-II socket to put it in diagnostic mode, then shift from N-D a few times to get it to enter fluid temp check mode. You’ll know it’s in the correct mode when the “A/T Temp” light briefly illuminates when you put it in Park. Then, when the light comes on and stays on, you are in the 115°F-130°F Range that they want you to be in to check fluid level. Fluid level is correct when you get “a slow trickle” of fluid from the check plug.

Is the specific temp to make sure it's loose enough to be fluid while avoiding burns or something else?
