I am Infiniti for life. Its a fantastic line of Cars built on decades of history. I have never had any complaints. Its never broken down on me. Not a single problem. My other friends that have BMW, Audi, and Merc equivalents have all had problems. Blown Turbo, burned out lights, batteries, transmission issues. For the money - this Car punches way about its weight!

Ok, Now I understand where they are coming from, at first I thought it was a ripoff to pay $47K-$50K for an IPL facelift with hardly any performace enhancement in terms of power but Infiniti is right, despite the price increase I would say the IPL is fairly priced, for one the standards on an IPL series are probably 100X better then those found in your basic BMW M3 or Audi S5, I have to admit the performance in the IPL G37 isnt something from a different world but it still dilivers, 4 cheaper.

@generalwill10 The 2011 Infiniti IPL G-Coupe is available with either the seven-speed Automatic or six-speed Manual transmission. The Manual starts at $47,950 not including D&H fees and the Automatic starts at $49,850.

My IPL just got here in Dallas today and it cost 51,600 MRPS, and I'm gonna test drive tomorrow....

People this is Infiniti. NOT PORSCHE!! ....all this talk about 4 and 5 hundred horsepower, and a super stiff suspension that can pull a full g on the skidpad will NOT sell. At least not sell as a g coupe. With all those changes, a person might as well look at a GTR or a 911. Infiniti is trying to keep this thing affordable for those of us that aren't looking to spend 70 or 80 grand on a hard core sports car.

I think it's a great idea. They're offering a car that's a step up from the "regular" G coupe but it doesn't cost them much extra to produce it since it's all off the shelf parts. The only thing I'm not sure about is the body kit, I'll have to see one in person but from pictures I've seen it looks a bit over the top. I'm hopeing they'll come out with an IPL M56 sedan soon. I'll be looking for a car to replace my G37xS sedan in about 18 months. : )

On the way home pulled up next to what I thought was g37 in my 335I sedan with bolt ons. Light turned green and he guns it, I hit it and immediately overtake. Slow back down and he floors it again I paddle down shift and gun it flew by and pulled ahead 3 cars and let off. We pull into same devolopment I go home and he circles around and comes by my drive way asking if I was stock. I told him bolt ons and chip he felt better and stated it was the new ipl hence why I'm researching on youtube now.

@jsiszero There is a reason why Infiniti decided to add what essentially is just a revised 3.7 litter V6 348 Hp engine to the IPL G37 coupe. You see the G37 coupe is at the near end of its life cycle for this current generation model. It makes no sense to lauch IPL as an AMG or M-series competitor for a car that will be completely redesigned in 2013. Infiniti intends to take on AMG and BMW M-series but not for these current G models, they are releasing the 2013 G coupe at the end of next year.

Well I wouldnt say so much cheaper, I guess its more affordable compared to the competition, I like that Infiniti thinks of the customer, they make it easier for those who aquire a High performance luxury coupe without having to loose and arm & a leg by paying over $60K. Obviously the IPL we see in december is just the begining, im sure that 348 HP engine will exceed 400 + HP by next year, they are just getting started, this is just a Preview that happens to be for sale. They have real potential

The BMW M3 coupe starts at $58,400 while the Infiniti G37 IPL coupe is priced at an affordable $47,000, this is just a test bed for Infiniti just the way the Old BMW M3 produced 330 HP, back in the day that was considered godly, now any standard G37 model, BMW & Mercedes Models come equipped with that much HP standard. And please lexus is joke for performance thats the last thing on thier list, not even the M3 is priced exageratedly as the ISF

Aah!! I see now. I test drove this car today, but really wasn't too impressed. I think the luxury aspects of it is what set it back for me. I really like this car so don't get me wrong. I even hit the thumbs up on this. It is a nice car. But it doesn't feel anything like me Evo X GSR. It's the perfect blend of luxury and performance. So if you're looking for that, this is it! But I'll keep my Evo X ;-)

@jsiszero Also keep in mind that Infiniti & Mercedes have partnered up by swapping technology. The result, Mercedes will be getting some of Infiniti's Hybrid technology and Infiniti will be using the AMG line of engines in their IPL line. A 450hp 5.5L S/C V8 G Coupe is in the works with a suspension tuned by Lotus (also a partner). The cost should be in the $60k+ range as it will go up against the IS-F, M3, CTS-V and AMG. Imagine the power of AMG with the reliabilty of an Infiniti!!

@bengaLroyalty i personally think that the 04 model G is better looking than the new one, ofcourse no doubt IPL is great in everyway. just not the regular new Gs.

Thinking about either this or a 335i. Love how aggressive this car looks but yet always wanted a BMW as a kid. Tough choice :(

@TheWiredX What are you talking about??? Look at Audi, their Audi S4 cost just as much the G37 coupe and it only has 333 HP which I might add is standard in all basic G37 coupes. The S5 isnt even that much impressive it only has 354 HP and its prices well above the IPL Coupe. If Audi can sell them im pretty sure Infiniti can too, not to mention infiniti is a better value and has better standards. Keep in mind this is just a test bed its not going to be 348 HP forever, this is Infiniti not lexus.

My gf has a g37 coupe we are pretty happy with it, been so much reliable than the 335i coupe,but that's all its been, its slower, more fuel hungry than the 335i,less space, i would buy the g coupe if it had a 2.5l v6 twin turbo bout 3400 pounds of weight 6 speed manual, lsd etc

id like to see some performance numbers because this car is getting dangerously close to the m3 price wise

@generalwill10 I like it alot. Power isnt the wow factor here, its the inspired performance of an Infiniti that does it for me. I like the BMW M3 but its over priced and comes poorly equipped at its pricepoint compared to the IPL. But the BMW M-series is a great performance devision I cant denie but its not the best out there. I think IPL has alot of pontential. By 2012 the IPL will probably have an engine alot more comparable to the M-series and AMG devisions.

@oshilzl Good thing you brought that up, the C63 AMG is a great car and now that Infiniti and Mercedes Benz are now partners they will be swapping technology. The pending IPL line up for 2013 will be getting AMG based engines from Mercedes while Infiniti will be giving Hybrid technology to Mercedes Benz. This is possibly the world first cross breed of German engineering with the reliability of a Japanese car, its like a Lion and a Cheetah has sex.

guys its not about the 18 hp. Its about uniqueness of the vehicle. That red leather by itself is probably worth $5000 to many people =) As far as I am concerned - original G35 coupes look the best, but this G37 IPL looks almost as good. Regular G37 coupes look ok, but nothing special.

this is hopefully just the start, this could be a c63amg killer. but it needs much much work to be a m3 killer

Blech, it comes with an automatic trans, performance cars should come in only manual trans (eg. Sti, RS4, GT500) but of course, that'd mean less sells for the IPL coupe

I have always dreamed of taking a G37S, add more muscular look than this, sutble poiler, adding twin turbo bumping up to 430HP, stiffen the suspension and call this the Skyline 3700GT-R =D Just like the very first Skyline 2000GT-R

It is always unfortunate when these car companies have poorly presented PR/Marketing people.... Listen and watch an Italian exotic manufacturer talk about their motors, and you feel the passion. Even the Germans arent too shabby. This puts me to sleep.

Cool so you made a car for under $50k ,but Iʻd like to see what Infiniti can do with a higher price tag in the $0-$150k range. It just confuses be that Nissan (Infinitiʻs degraded sibling) getʻs the GT-R but Infiniti doesnʻt get any of the cred. Iʻm not saying build a street racer but more or less the quality of a Bentley, with the hp included.

g37s body looks so much better. the rear of the ipl almost looks like an after thought. looks bloated. btw only 18 more hp. throw on a stillen stage 3 cai onto a regular s and u get +23hp lol.

Any way it doesnt matter what you would throw your money away on, the ISF is as dead as an Acura RL, you never see 1.

@Toyota4Life Its really sad that you use no logic whats so ever, have you seen how fast each lesus models goes standard? they all pack pony's not horses, a standard Infiniti packs 328HP+. By the way lexus doesnt even have a sports coupe, how about they start there and then they can rival all its competitors ahead of it. They chose to skip the coupe to make a lousy Convertible just to compete with the G37 convertible, and the LFA is a joke it cost more then a Ferrari or Lambo or Bently,scew lexus

You guys really need to redesign that rear bumper though. It looks like the not so old and totally ugly Chevy Impala ass. Gross. The FX or 370 rear bumper style would have looked so much nicer and tied the whole IPL series together much better. IMO

I mean I could spend my money on something faster,100X better looking and 5 times bigger, are you kidding for $60K I rather have as Infiniti M56 with 420HP and its a laregr sedan, even a BMW 550i or Jaguar XF would suffice before even considering that pathetic excuse of a performance car the ISF is, Lexus is not sport oriented, Infiniti is.
