Fa1L Samsung galaxy s8 is not equal to the speed of the lg v30. The s8 plus might be the slowest smartphone of the year (I think lg g6 is slower because of less powerful processor). As for beautiful, Samsung makes the best OLED for smartphone but the curve glass can be a bothered to some. Beautiful is subjective but I prefer the lg v30 looks, not only it looks good but is really sterdy as well and less prone of breaking.

iPhone 7plus owner here, imo the best overall smartphone for 2017 goes to the V30.

I'm sure the X performs awesome and is super fast, but if I were an iPhone user I would rather have the 7 plus or 8 plus. Seems like you lose more than you gain just for a oled notched screen and face unlock. I would always want the option of a fingerprint reader. Anyway, I'm an Android guy and loved my LG g6, but after trying the v30 I had to have it. I agree with you because this is easily the best phone I have ever used.

Faheem 11 never tested anything scientifically but get through a day moderate to heavy use. No games. 15-25% left end of the day.

The LG V30 speaker sounded better. The LG screen also looks better.

Both are pretty good. But to be honest. it is hard to understand why to pay so much more money for an X. The LG Cam is really awesome. The only Wow effect came with the Benchmark results the iPhone clearly dominates, but well, on daily use most user won't notice that, maybe when doing Video editing or converting...

Leroy I got the LG V30 the first day of release on Verizon. The video camera on it is the best in any smartphone. Pair it with a DJI Osmo Mobile or similar and make your own movies.

mArKiE_d0685 Not entirely true. They do make stable phones that don't slow down too much with time. Most Androids can't go a year and a half without slowing down a lot. It's just great to see that out of the box, the LG is zipping faster than Apple, a phone that benchmarks far higher.

It definitely sounded fuller and captured more of the real life noises that were happening. iPhone X sounded muffled for some reason.

Very nice unbiased comparison.. Based on those results the title goes to the LG V30. Especially once you consider the price difference - it's also definitely a MUCH better bargain.

Fabulous Factor I have a v20

Again another proud owner of the LGV30. It's a much better device than the iPhone X. I have tested the iPhone X in the apple store and I give it an edge on the V30 for its front facing camera, stereo speakers and the full screen video option only. Everything else I give to the V30!! It is an amazing device. The best LG has ever created. Although the iPhone screen is considered full display (bezeless) LG did a great job at minimizing the bezels on the V30 and the screen is larger as well as the entire phone. Also, the "always on display" feature on the V30 is extremely nice and helpful because it is customizable and offers functionality to apps and phone features as well as displays the time and date with touching the device. I commend apple for getting rid of the physical button on the front of the iPhone and I like the gesture feature much better as well as the design. Also the face unlock is a great feature but should not have replaced the fingerprint scanner considering the V30 has both. It should have included both. I also do not like that the iPhone does not have expandable storage nor does it include a headphone jack. The V30 not only includes a headphone jack but it includes a quad DAC that equalizers the sound when using the headphone jack. The sound is amazing! The best you'll ever hear on any phone out today. Not sure if the lightning cable is reversible, I've never owned Apple anything but the type C USB cable is a huge step up from type B micro USB. Love it! Overall I would never trade my V30 for the iPhone X, but for iPhone users, the X is the best phone to date that Apple has made. Just my 2 cents. Sorry for the lengthy response. Hopefully this will help some of you decide on which to get.

Maurice White it's one of the longer lasting batteries I've seen on a flagship phone of its stature. You can expect a full day's worth of regular use without charging.

V30 has great battery life, but overall it isn’t a better device than the X. Screen, speakers, camera, processing power, build quality and OEM support all go to the X.

@@BC08 actually the v30 has better camera(front facing) and way better audio especially with the quad dac, and the v30 has 4gb ram as compared to X's 3gb ram and finally it has a way better screen, better display, not even mentioning the headphone jack and fingerprint capability.

LG V30 is fast, looks good, dispaly 100% better than iPX, audio better and camera is perfect, R.I.P iPhone X

The v30 has an inbuilt dac and it sounds amazing when using cheap earphones aswell

As an iPhone user, I see no reason not to get the V30. Looks better, functions better, cheaper, USB C, no stupid notch, headphone jack. I see no reason to stay with Apple.

i’m honestly getting tired of iphones, switching back to android on my next upgrade and probably getting the v30 or the next in the V series

+Phone Battles would be great if you could do Display comparisons. Not only with this 2, but compare also HTC U11+ VS Pixel xl VS note 8 VS LG VS iphone x , since all of them have different OLED/LCD displays. U could do like videos on the day, sun, all dark. Would be amazing.

The sound on your video stops at the 5 minute mark

You could have done a facial recognition test to open the phone since iPhone X doesn't have the finger print. The V30 has options: Finger print, facial recognition, voice recognition, code, pattern.

Apart from the front camera, the V30 is just a better overall device. The audio recording is not even in the same league, the V30 is significantly better. It has a headphone jack AND a Quad DAC which sounds incredibly better than almost any device on the market today. The manual modes on the V30 camera are top notch and its even faster in most scenarios than the iPhone. The only two devices slightly faster than the V30 today are the Pixel 2 (XL) and the Oneplus 5/5T (which is bar none the fastest smartphone on the market).

Phone Battles Cheers! Good luck with your next video. While we're on the subject of music, can you please tell me how do you feel about the V30's loudspeaker performance? What about the bass? It's kind of hard to pick it up on the video, I'd like to hear a first hand opinion.

The only thing I dislike about the V30 is how light it is in my hands. It feels very delicate compared to the X. Its a spectacular phone though.

I was pretty shocked with the colors that the V30 was picking up off every single car. That looked amazing to me.

DavidFR Depends on what you are looking for. Both are good phones. If you want a media phone get the V30. If you want a work phone get the Note 8.

DavidFR me to I’m not sure which one to get,I’m always been an iPhone user But I just read some comments about the lg v30 was getting virus and the person has to get an antivirus and download some others files to fix the problem and when I heard that it Kinda put me down because and all the iPhones I had before, I never got any virus’s or none of those problems That’s my concern about the lg v30 And I was very excited because I heard when you’re using earphones on the lg you’re get a higher quality ..

Thanks guys, the Note 8 seems to be a better fit for me since I’m in college right now. I take lots of notes on my phone so this switch should be painless from having an iPhone. I had an LG V10 a long time ago and that thing got bad screen ‘burn-in’ I’m pretty sure LG worked on it by now with the V30. I’m not much of an audiophile, as long it sounds decent it’s alright for me. The only thing holding me back are the apps I would have to download to prevent me from getting any types of viruses.

I had the note 8 just because i got 425 dollars incentive due to the note 7 fiasco. Then i tryed the lgv30+ and love it. The cameras, fast and that hifi dac makes good headphones sound like no other phone can. Also i like the screen on the lg v30+ more than the note 8 to my taste lg has more realistic colors. Bottom line i sold the note8 and got me a v30+ couldn't be happier i have been using the v30+ for about 3 weeks and love it

I have the lg v30 but im experiencing difficulties with voice notes on whats app. I tried literally everything. I even changed the entire phone (warantee) but the problem stayed!!! The problem is when im recording a voice note and there is background noise the quality of the voice note becomes so bad u can barely understand whats being said. Do u have this problem? I wanna know if its a software problems cuz i sent my phone twice now to be fix but they returned it saying there is no problem at all. Keep in mind that when i record an audio using hd recorder there is no problem at all.

LG V30 Dev options animation scales set off, change screen resolution down 1 setting to 1080p. Phone will feel much faster.

Great job! I am so glad to see you using Chrome on Android and Safari on IOS, which can represent the daily use conditions on the two platforms better. And maybe a scrolling smoothness test in the furture by shooting with slow motion camera. Personally I think other than the time taken to fully open an app, response time and refresh rate are to some extent even more important for users to sense the smoothness and performance of a smartphone. Keep it up!

the problem is that the iphone x is worth € 1000 and the lg € 500, apple you have a lot of work to do and is not better than the competition in anything or software that was your strong point, apple or improvements or eat you. I think apple si losing this battlephone last 3 Mobile generations.

You are playing the jazz much louder on the iPhone., giving it an advantage. All audio comparisons must be level matched to within 0.5 db. For testing purposes.
