Scientifically, the more a phone bounces when It falls, the less likely it will be damaged. Because when if falls and lays flat, it pretty much absorbs all the damage from the fall. The more you know.. you only break it when you drop it by accident...

Could be how he dropped it though. Unless you're using a machine, it's hard to control the angles of the drop that make it crack. Like, I've dropped my iPhone 6 countless times and it survived every single time, but one time, I dropped it and it bounced on the corner and the entire screen shattered.

You can blame the necessity for all the glass on modern smartphones. It's the price we pay for touchscreen interfaces (you need lots of real estate to hold all the touchable areas of the phone). Back when you navigated with just buttons you could afford to have tiny displays that were made of cheaper materials like plastic (because no one cared how smooth the screen felt to glide your thumb across when you weren't actually interacting with the screen).

@@SaudiLiving1 actually, I have almost burnt my phone. I was cooking and my phone fell off of the cabinet right over the fire, my screen's pixels came back in about 5 seconds. Thank God. Also he does scratch tests because people's phones can get scratched up by keys, coins or anything sharp

the thing is you are doing it on a really flat surface. do it on the sidewalk or road where there small pebbles and point. thats where the majority of the drops happen.

I dropped my Lenovo P70 from the head height. Luckily I'd a screen protector and a case cover. Which both ran away and vanished after the drop. How's the head height drop was? It was caused by opening the car's door while holding it.
