hi-five from one repair technician to another, i tend to fix "other" things more than phones and laptops generally ... just the past few days i have had a sony phone with charger port issues.. wouldnt be so bad but its not a standard usb-c port (10pin and made for cut out board)

Hello Sorin. Let me use your laptop repair expertise. I have a Samsung NP270E5G and when I plug the charger (if the battery is connected) the power led blinks 7 times. If I plug the charger without the battery connected, the power led blinks only one fast time. But in both situations, sometimes the laptop power on normally and sometimes not. Could you give a tip about what could be happening. May it be a super I/O issue or a BQ735 IC charger issue? Thanks for your help, and keep spreading knowledgement like you do perfectly.

Hi Sorin, I have been watching your beginner series and now I am trying to learn more by repairing an lcd tv, could you tell me a way in which I can identify components on a circuit board, I know the basic ones resistor, capacitor etc but the board has some components I have never seen? You should buy a battery adaptor for powering the board from the bench power supply hands free. You can find adaptor for all iphone models.

Frigidaire microwave model CFMV164LSA. It's an "over the range" microwave, so there are two fan vent metal mesh screens / grease filters on the bottom, which I have removed, and had removed for a year. Since I would use the fan while cooking on the stove, yellow semispheres of grease, and a little bit of grey dust, have appeared on the flat horizontal metal sheets that I can see inside. I have never cleaned it before. When I removed the grease filters, they were so dirty I knew I had to buy new ones and not attempt to clean them. Now I have two new ones; I just don't want to insert them until I have cleaned out all the grease and dust from inside my underside of my microwave. I'm worried about getting electrocuted though. Page 21 says "To avoid risk of personal injury or property damage, do not operate oven hood without filters properly in place." Well, I've been operating it for a year or so without the to bottom filters in place! The top single one is still in place, but is dirty as heck (the previous tenants never did any home maintenance). Page 23 has information on how to clean the oven door, and the cavity where food is placed, and the outside of the oven, but nothing about how to clean the airborne grease and dust from just behind the 3 grease filters. I will turn off the power to the microwave by turning off the breaker to it on my breaker panel which is in my bedroom, not the kitchen, before I start cleaning. What kind of liquid should I use before I replace the three filters (one above the door, and two on the underside of the microwave)? Hot water mixed with dishsoap? 50/50 vinegar and water mix? A cotton cheesecloth? A microfiber cloth? A cotton polyester blend cloth? Is it absolutely necessary to have a lint-free cloth?

hey, just a dude trying to learn.. i have an iphone 6s plus that was water damaged. no obvious signs. and the board isnt shorted from the positive batter connector. the phone does take normal voltage when charging. doesnt turn the screen on. when prompted it draws 70mA up to 1A, then sits on 70mA. no screen connector bits are shorted to ground that shouldnt be. where else can i look or can try? thanks

Hei can anyone help me with my hard disk problem. I use a 2.5 inch laptop internal HDD with external casing as my external HDD. It's a 1 TB seagate HDD. The problem is that the hard disk when connected is not showing in file manager. But the hard disk led light turns on when connected and also the hard disk is labelled as "online" in disk management. There are 4 partitions and only one is showing. If i assign drive letter to the "missing partitions" then it will appear. But after not using for 2 to 3 days and if it is again used, the problem Occurs. Agian the partition drive letter will be not there and the partitions will be disappeared.This same problem is happening wirh my friend's hard disk when it is connected to my laptop. He also used a laptop internal HDD as an external with external casing.
