The adapter needs an adapter to take the aux chord. Even if that wasn't the case, you guys are the purest of Apple Cucks if you're willing to spend so much extra money for a feature that has been on phones since I was in the 5th grade. Like you realize that's what they want right? They know they're consumers are dumb/loyal enough to buy unnecessary additions to the phone, such as all new usb chords with every one of the more recent models that vary with each phone, and now this is near the goddamn pinnacle of the concept. The only the only thing I could thing of that could top this is the phone needing an adapter for the cameras... Maybe next phone

The Speakers & Mic need to allow sound & air through so a mesh with small holes is placed. The mesh is water resistant but will let water through under pressure. Steam will easily make it through.

I use my iPhone 5s in the shower. Not under water but the steam is definitely present. The phone still works after 3 years and I do this everyday. So... I doubt the steam will affect the phone.

most people will be dropping their phones in a pool and most deep ends of a swimming pool is around 12 to 15 feet deep. if you drop your phone in a 35 foot river or lake. youre not getting it back either way... too deep to safely recover

Not sure if you're trolling but at some point people are going to want to know the true limits of the phone regardless, just out of curiosity. That's the purpose of this video. Apple stated that all you can really do with the phone is accidentally drop it in a meter of water, but clearly it can withstand quite a bit more.

And for those who think the S7 was tampered with, I checked other sources and dead at 35 feet is about right. It relies on a a hydrophobic mesh to seal the speakers which will seal the phone all day in shallow water but doesn't protect against high pressures.

***** I just watched an iPhone 7 teardown video and they don't use hydrophobic mesh anywhere on the device. The construction of the iPhone actually seems to be a bit better water-proofed than Samsungs in the sense that you could reassemble the iPhone without loosing the waterproofing where with Samsung once you open it the seals are pretty much broken.

My 4 year old iPhone 7 Plus used to have water resistance until I went in and got the battery got replaced inside the phone. I don’t know if it still has water resistance but I also don’t wanna find out either. I have to be careful when I’m in an area with water.

about what? no phone is going to be in 40ft of water and be retrievable anyways lol and the iphone is done to just going at a slower pace. In real world situations the galaxy wins such as steam from a shower that would get inside the phone. Either way neither phone is covered by water damage. I would still rather have a better display and camera on my note 7 with expandable memory. No fanboy in the slightest i bought iphones all the way up to the 5s when they stopped giving reasons to buy it.

Well as a scuba diver I can tell you ambient pressure increases underwater at an almost linear rate with increasing depth*. For every 33 feet (10 meters) of depth in sea water, the ambient pressure increases by an an additional 14.7 psi (1 atm)

I've been using Bluetooth headphones for a while so the lack of headphone jack makes no difference for me at all.

I'm just saying, most pools(if any) don't even go to 35 feet so it would seem rather useless unless you dropped it in the ocean or lake which would be pretty futile to find at that point. Granted, the fact that it outperformed the S7 is astonishing.
