I can attest to that. A 60 Hz display is the Achilles heel of normal iPhones. But, once Apple decides it's time for ProMotion, the Pros better have something crazy going for them

Just got my pink base iPhone 15 (on sale on amazon for £699). Upgraded from a iPhone 7. I love it. Weird getting used to not having a button at the bottom and I love how fast face ID is compared to touch ID. I was torn on if to get the plus for the screen size but I'm glad I saved the £100. Was tempted to wait see what we hear about a new SE but was really fed up of my 7 switching off randomly.

Btw a minor correction 6:50 actually every iPhone except SE from 13 and later have this capability too, the difference is that 13 and 14 models require us to capture in dedicated portrait mode instead of the phone activating it automatically for you, which means 15 models exclusively can have live portraits and photographic styles activated at the same time

@mardikas I would rather go for the 14 Pro because refresh rate is important to me and I like having 3 lenses.

@@24kCookieMusic yea buddy 1st of all we don’t even know if that claim is true. 15 series battery health as already started dropping below 97% for a lot of phones. 2ndly battery health doesn’t make it way better compared to all the other features the 14 pro has

I have 14 pro and not worth ): too overpriced better to get something like 14 normal version but if battery life span is true with 15 then just go with new iPhones.

@chevbii Although the iphone 15 would be a better choice for me personally because of the usb type c, I would still choose the 14 pro because it technically is a bit cheaper than the newer 15 and most of the features in the 15 is in the 14 pro. There are downsides of the 14 pro but economically for me I'd choose that over the 15.

Well in uk can get iPhone 15 on contract 200 cheaper than used 24 pro on contract so going for 15 as much as like 14 pro

I got the 14 pro max, and I gotta say, very good choice. Not missing out on anything, and the usbc is not a must have, since I charge my phone overnight, something I don’t expect any of you to be doing💀 but I also got an iPad that changes on lightning cable, so that kinda affects my choice, but overall the 14 pro max is definitely a very solid choice.

The only reason why the 15 outperformed the 14 in your test is because of the 15s 24mp default capture. If you had set the 14 pro to take HEIF MAX (compressed 48mp) photos it would’ve been way better

Yeah but you shouldn’t really be using 48MP all the time, you get less HDR and more noise. Most of the time their respective defaults should be used and compared.

kephinio I'd go with the 15 as I love the matte back. I've been constantly annoyed a bit with the back of the iPhone 14 Plus. But I love the colour and the feeling of it in the hand. That's why I only use a case when I'm outside the house.

5:55 zoom is far better on 14 pro in general and especially video with action mode and cinematic and battery i’ve never had a problem even with the always on display and personally i got the 14 pro for £500 / $650

I think this is the first time that I see a comparison between 15 and 14 pro and winds 15. I really see your point: "normal" people will not shoot on RAW (14pro) and 120 Hz is not THAT important (it's really an advantage, but you get used to 60Hz). Most people care about battery, quality cameras overall and functionality: the winner is 15🥳

but the battery is nearly identical between both, the camera quality is better on the 14 pro. and functionality is almost the same with the 14 pro beating the 15 because of the same chip plus the extra smoothness of the 120hz screen. I'd say the clear winner here is the 14 pro

As someone who has never had a 120hz phone (or any other type of screen for that matter) I can’t for the life of me see an actual difference between 60 and 120. It seems like owning a 120hz device will make you see difference though, and once that happens it’s awkward to go back to 60. I remember back in the day just having stable 30hz was considered a good experience so saying 60hz is bad just feels like nitpicking to me.

@@stoyantodorov2133 yeah but honestly, it feels so good to be on 120hz. And the always on is so nice. I will say though, 60hz isn’t bad, but the problem is, my old phone was very laggy, I had the base 12 and I had updated it to iOS 17 and it got quite laggy especially since I always had max storage, so that might be something to consider too. I will say, my iPad Air, with a 60hz screen, doesn’t feel slow at all, and I’m fine with it. I think it was just my old phone

Comparing my 15 to my wife’s 14 Pro, I think the 14 Pro generally performs better in lower light and also has a better ultra wide lens. I’d probably say that the 14 Pro has a better overall camera. But I rarely use the camera and would rather have USB C and a better battery life so I went with the 15.

@sebunelebunmiriku I heard about the poor battery longevity of the 14 Pro series where its battery health tends to drain much faster than previous iPhones. I'm not entirely sure if it is just a local problem or just few devices are hit, but it's making me reconsider the 14 Pro. Is it a known issue?

@shaafay The iPhone 15 is the perfect iPhone to get this year in my opinion. It has the much awaited USB-C port plus the new 48mp camera sensors. These two features alone make it an upgrade from the 14 Pro. Yeah, it’s missing the high refresh rate, but I honestly never notice it that much and it doesn’t bother me.

For someone like me who stopped using an iPhone in 2019 after it got stolen, I think the iPhone 15 is my choice of an upgrade since the offers for postpaid of iPhone 15 and 14 Pro are almost the same.

15, no doubt. The camera enhancements, build quality, and weight. All reasons to forget the 60htz nonsense cause baby these things are smooth. Just a nicer phone overall.

@joshuabuwono i think you miss the weight factor too. the aluminium body on iphone 15 is so light compare to the pro iphone. i use the 14 pro for long time and it seem a bit heavy on hand. for long term and comfort, i think people choose iphone 15 rather than last year pro. by the way, great review as always

I think that iphone 15 is more worth it since it has some new updates and cool features that as I “normal” person would do. I do not need the pro res log for my everyday usage and the 120 hz doesn’t matter for me.

me personally went for the 15, honestly the 120hz screen is not sth i do really care about on a daily basis. The 60hz that regular iphones offer is more than enough for me because of how smooth they are, so actually it's not a real problem to me. Besides, I got an iPad Air 5 and being able to charge both devices using one charger is also a big possitive point that made me go for the 15. Also the battery life was a huge must-to consider for me so that's another reason why i chose it.

@firerains Honestly I would’ve chosen the 14 pro because because where I live it cost cheaper then the iPhone 15 and it gives you better display 120 refresh rate, a telephoto camera and the main camera photos are already great, and the hardware looks premium.

I have had both. I loved my 14 pro but sold it because it was too heavy especially for a long use. I would say 15 is overall better as it is much more comfortable to hold, has type-c charging, clicks better pictures and can convert them into portraits. Overall, 15 is a much better device to use.

@Street-geng Merry Xmas dion for me am realy fascinated by the light weight, pastel colours of the iPhone 15 base model though it has a lower refresh rate of 60hrtz I'd still Rock it over the pro models because it has superb battery life,a good cameras and last but not least a dynamic island that is a pro feature from the previous generation. For the spigen cases the white colour blends well with the pastel blue colour 💙 of the iPhone 15 I'd pick it as my favourite.

I just got the 15 but probably would’ve preferred the 14 pro but I wasn’t able to find any iPhone 14 pros under like 950 so it was cheaper to get the 15. Buy I’m very happy with my 15 so far but it’s only been a few days 😅

Hey Dion! Great content! I would honestly get either the 14 Pro or the 15 Pro! The Deep Purple and Titanium Blue are GORGEOUS colors 🙌🏼 But to get the 14 Pro, I would either it from Back Market or Amazon Renewed! But which one would be the better place to get the 14 Pro from?

I would choose iPhone 15. I don't like heavy phones tbh. Coming from a 120hz phone to a 60hz, my eyes can get used to that just give it a few days.

White! apple 15 all the way lighter better ergos and usb-c. Future proof for a little more~

@gus_nrvz To be honest I would choose the regular iPhone 15. The fact that it has USB-C now (even though its locked at 2.0 speeds) imo is the biggest game changer. Also, the refreshed design with the matte glass back, and better camera sensors makes it the most substantial change to the regular iPhone line-up since the iPhone 12.

I’m so late but if I had to choose probably the 14 pro because I have the 13 and the camera on the 14 pro is way more better and would help with my photography and editing even tho the giveaway is over your content is really good and can’t wait for the next video

@miksmanalo I think the only upside of owning the 15 is the USB C but if you took that out of the equation the 14 Pro is a better option.

@kunallhere__ I've just tried voice isolation on my 12 mini and it worked about as effectively as the video showed for the 15 (had music blaring and recorded a message with and without voice isolation and the music was completely masked when VI was on), so not sure why this is mentioned as a breakthrough feature for the iPhone 15! Other than that, great review as usual.

@mmwansajr I think the 14 pro is the better buy. People always rock there phones with a case (like Spigen cases 😏) so the build isn't a biggie. 6:50 this is wrong. Or you weren’t specific enough. The 14 pro and EVEN the 13 pro have this feature. They can both adjust the focus point of portraits. The ONLY thing the 15 has is that it turns photos into portraits AFTER their shot

There are minor to non differences on the design. When you held them together. I couldn't tell the differences till you turn them upside down

In India, I am getting the iPhone 15 128GB variant for around 58000 rupees or you could say 686.88 dollars and at the same time 14pro for around 1441.72. Its almost double the price of the regular 15 and the only thing it is better than the 15 is that it has a 120Hz display

answer is depend to the person honestly, mine is 15 Pro because USB C! all of my work device used 100% USB C except on my previous 12 Pro device, so it's such a nice upgrade to me

Seems like the telephoto 3rd lens of the pro/pro max isn't worth the extra money, at least within this line up comparison.

Does anyone know if the plus sizes phone or max phones worth it, I hated big screens, however they made the plus lighter .so now I’m kinda interested but I love my one handed phone use

@merijnarendsen Personally I prefer the Iphone 15, because (in my opinion) for the lower price you get all the “pro” features from last year, except the Pro Motion display and an extra camera lens. And let’s be honest, the matte finished sides look way more sexy (and premium) than the glossy ones! 😁

@daycodin Iphone 15 would be a good choice for those who are craving for the long awaited update on iPhone which is usb type-c plus the great camera, but i find iPhone 14 pro to be a better choice for me because it has really good features and almost identical to iPhone 15 with lower price. Regardless, both phones are great!

@leerobertts Tbh, 14 Pro is still better in every single way, despite the 15 producing “slightly sharper” 24mp photos. Just turn on “heif max” on the 14 Pro, and you’ll get almost the same result with the 15. Plus, you get a better ultrawide lense and an additional telephoto lense on the 14 Pro, the stainless steel design, 120hz promotion, proraw and prores, and you can get it on a discounted price, depending from where you buy it. If you’re the tyoe of person who just wants an iPhone, then the 15 is more than enough. But if you are someone who use an iPhone for content creation, then go for the 14 Pro.

@renejrmler I find myself kind of biased, the implementation of USB would make my life easier, but man, the 120hz display it's just so beautiful to look at!

@robertclarkguitar Man again , love these videos. To the point and perfect mix of facts and production isn't overkill. Makes me want one since I know they shoot way better video. I use s22 and it's not quite there. Lol
