The battery life is not that much better than last year because even though apple has 3nm chip most apps arent designed to take full advantage of it yet. Especially insta which is probably why the iphone over heated for people who use it. And i think apple is holding back the 3nm chip because of this issue so its possible as more apps support this chip architecture ur phone will get better

I take a lot of photos of K’nex, Lego, hair, and clothes. Going from the XS to 15 Pro is better in every way. Finally, no over sharpening, which kept the XS looking very good compared to many newer iPhones, so much that I didn’t feel like upgrading. No one mentioned this, but the screen is way way brighter, with better viewing angles and contrast (yes noticeably better contrast even though it’s oled to oled). Brightness of LCD, with performance of OLED. It really feels like no compromise.

Traded a bit of durability for comfortability and repairability. The rear glass is easier to remove now, so it's much cheaper to replace. I mean I wish it was stronger, BUT I also am not going to purposefully bend my phone with my entire strength, and I also use a case on my phone so I am not really worried about my phone breaking. It is still super strong, even if it's a little less strong than last year.

This is (not) a suggestion. The Asus Zenfone 9 and 10. Firstly, the battery lasts a day and a half on medium-heavy use. Secondly, This phone is literally the new Nokia 3310. I have chucked this thing 2-3 meters onto concrete, I have seen it fly across the room and shatter 2 plates in half (not intentionally). No scratches, dents or cracks. Thirdly: it's super comfortable to hold because it's not a giant phone. On top of these, the screen is beautiful, the processor is good (it runs really smoothly with a 120Hz display), cameras are decent (not in low light) with a physical gimble. And to top it all off it is much cheaper than the iPhone. I was thinking of getting the iPhone 15 pro as I have a MacBook Pro, But I'm gonna wait till next year to see if they make something better...

Realistically, you're not going to be able to tell a difference in performance between an iPhone 12, or maybe even earlier, and a 15 Pro. The year over year CPU performance improvements are mostly just for longevity and scalability to the M series. The GPU improvements could actually start mattering, though, with AAA games coming to iPhone, but we'll have to see about that. Honestly the one part of the SoC that probably makes the most difference these days is the neural engine. I noticed that Face ID for example is faster and can cope with more edge cases/angles on my 15 Pro than the 13 I upgraded from, and other ML tasks seem significantly improved as well.

I give up, six days ago you said don't buy the iPhone 15 pro, today it's the best thing since sliced iPhones. And wasn't there supposed to be some incredible version celebrating a decade & 1/2 of iPhones (none of which you should buy cuz the next one's going to be better)? It's exhausting, I enjoy the antics, but I gotta disregard the advice, so I'll compress the videos together, divide by 2, and get the, uh, iPhone 7.5, which is why I have Android. I do enjoy the laughs John, and the money I'm not spending, thx!

I genuinely love my 15 Pro, and it's the most excited I've been about my iPhone for a long time, but there's been so many bugs. The overheating (which is fixed now), the hotfix to 17.0.2 just to be able to activate the phone on launch day, issues connecting to my home network on 5ghz (2.4 works fine), and a few other things. I miss when the iOS was fully polished...

I got the 15 pro max in blue and it came with a huge scratch down the side. So tmobile said I could return it for a different color (I was going to get natural). So I had to use my 14 pro max while I waited for the natural but the speakers were bad so I took it to Apple and they gave me a brand new 14 pro max for free so I just decided to keep this and not get the 15. It was really nice to hold in hand but to be honest the 14 pro max is just as good. And I actually like the straighter edges. But I did love the way the lighter 15 pro max felt when holding it. I’m going to just wait for the 16 pro max I think. Also I did notice my 14 pro max charges like 2x faster than my 15 pro max when using a 20w brick on 14 and 65w brick on 15. Also the back glass being so much weaker is a deal breaker since I don’t use cases. Hopefully they fix that for the 16. And I noticed after the 17.0.3 update the 15 felt slower and I think they did that to stop the heating up.

I have a feeling that next year, rather than bending the back glass to meet the titanium rail, apple will curve the titanium to meet the glass and say “It’s a brand new design that improves durability by x%”

Disagree with your take on repairability versus durability. The 14 had a removable backplate but didn't have a hole in the mid frame like the pros this year do. That's why people are concerned. There doesn't need to be a choice between repair and durability, they aren't mutually exclusive... (Used to fix phones for a living)

The reminders notifications you have to manually set has been annoying since iOS 14, maybe even longer than that!! It blows my mind that you have to also do that to calendar default alert times as well. Also, why don’t phone favorites synch to iCloud!!!!!

The cars are overpriced. No case should cost more than $30. These cases he presented cost $70 or more and they’re the same as every case out there. Made with TPU and rubber. I used to be in the case business and I had the same manufacturer as them and they were sold $6 a unit.

Very well done (not) a review. I do disagree with you on one point. We can have repairable and durable. Zach didn’t break the back glass on the 15 plus. It turns out the reason is the metal shield is integrated into the glass on the normal 15 but on the pros it’s just the glass. The metal stays on the phone, and where Zack cracked it was where there was a hole in the metal support
