iPhone 15 as a Wired Sony Camera Monitor

Just found out I could use an iPhone 15 Pro as a cabled monitor on a Sony Camera by messing around and now sharing how to do it! Best Sony to iPhone hack I have found!
With the iPhone 15 Pro's new USB-C port, new Sony Cameras such as the Sony a7 C ii have the ability to natively plug into the phone and directly stream the video over USB-C cables out to the phone's display with close to no latency. This is my Real Quick Guide as I have not seen a single video using this capability, but it is a super Sony tip that I wanted to share. It’s not a hack, but gotta feed the algorithm! This has unlocked an amazing display I always cary with me on a shoot with a built in battery and has greatly improved my workflow, all without needing any purchases!

Wired connection works in my ANDROID device. Whereas not even showing up on my iPhone or iPad. I have SONY A7R4 ( tried on iPhone 15 pro & iPad Pro)

Oh man! I wonder if it’s the A7R4 with the older chip? I use this non-stop on my A7 C ii with an iPad Air and iPhone 15 Pro.
If someone had a USB-C to lighting cord, could they use this setup with an older iPhone?

I think you have to use Apple’s Lightning-Camera Adapter according to the info in Monitor+. Haven’t verified it yet, though.
Can this be used for stills/photography or Video ONLY?

Yes! Works the exact same in photo mode, just toggle switch on the camera but the function is the same. It unlocks drive modes such as continuous shot, single shot, pressing the “shoot” button in the middle of the screen releases the shutter.

Works for my iPad with cable but with my iPhone 15 it won’t find it with cable

Dang! iPhone 15 or 15 Pro? Curious if it’s differentiated between those two models. Video was done with the Pro.
So why would I need a accsoon ? I’m confused the only reason I’m seeing is to charge the phone at the same time

That’s the best point, I don’t think you do need the Accsoon! If you have a Sony compatible camera and USB-C iPhone 15 Pro this should work, though I don’t know which cameras this would work with. I was about to buy an Accsoon so I could do this exact thing but didn’t want an extra device to deal with and just plugged it in and it worked. I’ve used this for several hours of filming so far. I charge the phone up before use as it does drain battery rather quickly with the iPhone screen on full brightness, but it keeps the camera mostly charged up. I carry a Anker Battery Pack in my camera bag to quick charge my phone if it get’s lower.

I have multiple items strewn together on this, most from Amazon. It’s a Small Rig Magic Arm, PGYTech phone holder. Now I have additional MagSafe mounts I use for the iPhone and also F22 quick release mounts. I plan to put a video out on Falcam F22 items soon!
Probably been able to do this with an android for like the past 20 years or something.

monitor + fails in only using sony cameras no idea why other apps have not covered this would rather not have to by an accsoon device

It works flawlessly for my Sony, it’s been amazing actually! Hopefully they expand to other brands. What camera are you using with the Accsoon converter?

i am running black magic gear pocket 4 or 6k. can use camx for ipad but no other solution that i can find except accsoon. for iphones, hopefull that some other s app will come possibly from black magic themselves or monitor + expand to work with other cameras
