@@EastCoastScott In all honesty. No. I got a 12 Pro as well. The reasons for me specifically- I hated my videos looking like crap when I shared them- yes the camera is awesome- but not refined. And I wanted to be able to FaceTime my other iPhone and have it auto answer my FaceTime calls- which is free- and set up through call audio routing. Like a baby monitor. I would’ve had to use skype- what’s app- or a million other apps to do the same thing between iPhone and Samsung- but with no private auto answer feature. I was also butthurt when Samsung showed the under panel display prototype and started talking about a much bigger camera sensor launching later this summer. I know there are so many more Samsung models than iPhone- but it killed my buzz really quick.

@@THEOHIOMIX good to know. I’m still on the fence.. unlike you I have never used FaceTime nor audio routing as you explained. But the shared video aspect I was hoping was fixed with Samsung’s advanced messaging or googles RCS..I swear they have it this way so you almost have to pick apple if your invested in their ecosystem. Luckily I’m not but it’s still a hard decision

I bought the S21 Ultra from Samsung store yesterday. Pre order deliveries have begun here in India. I've been using the camera since last night and now morning. I am noticing extreme over sharpening in daylight photos. It'd on the latest update. Got one immediately after setting it up. Mine is the exynos model. I don't know what's wrong with the camera. Has anyone experienced the same thing? If you read this and get yours anytime soon please do check the images. Zoom into them and notice the sharpening effect. It's pretty bad.

Seeing as how I'm no longer a Mac user, I've come to terms with the fact that I don't need an iPhone... I hardly airdrop, iMessage is nice but not really a reason for me to keep being "okay" with the design choices apple makes every year (notch, refresh rate, ability to customize their devices, high prices for how little they are offering, THE LIGHTNING PORT!!!!!). As a previous Samsung user (Note 4) I can tell that Samsung has really made a great phone here. That's why I'm awaiting my S21 Ultra to replace my iPhone X.

The rant about the notifications on iOS from 2:30 onwards shows just how much of a blind spot tech reviewers live in. What bothers them does not bother the average person because the average person does not receive seven thousand notifications from social media apps every single day. Also, the grouping and individual swiping off of notifications on iOS has never been a problem for me or several of my friends who use iPhones. I have only ever heard tech reviewers complaining about it. I also use a Samsung phone and notifications on Samsung phones are terrible both from an aesthetic and functional perspective. If you ever use a Samsung phone long-term you will know what I mean. The way you swipe in the notification centre and the way a notification jumps off and suddenly gets swiped away on Android is something only a long-term user can know. Compared to that iOS requires intentional input from the user. And above everything else the biggest con is the fact that on android apps begin sending you notifications right after install them. On iOS notifications can be allowed only when the user taps on the app and gives explicit permission. This is never brought up by any tech reviewer. Sometimes ranting is done for the heck of it and there is no real purpose or logic behind it... it’s only to get views.

I still *love* what my Galaxy Note can do, but I hate the platform changes that Google has been making, and am jumping ship before they make everything a billable add-on. I like the s21 series and if I wasn’t an iOS guy I’d surely use it. Having every apple product from the phone to the HomePod mini, I’m really locked in the Apple ecosystem which is fine with me. My family and friends all have iPhone or some form of an apple product so ofc iMessage, FaceTime, airdrop all that is useful and not to mention my classmates all use iPhone, iPad, or Mac too so it’s super easy for group projects and stuff so we all can FaceTime and collaborate if needed. I must say though, Samsung has come along way and has a robust ecosystem of its own so should I ever leave iOS I’m pretty confident that things would be fine. For now though, I’m perfectly good in the “walled garden”

Agree - the versatility of camera, a def win for the S20U, though I do not use zoom as much as I expected so not an issue for me. The macro is great. Disagree - The display is better but that is because Apple will not get this new display until September, they always get it after Samsung, so a bit unfair! Notch, I do not even notice, but I am not a form over function person. Disagree - The fingerprint sensor is a pain as I wear gloves for protection, there is probably as much chance of getting COVID from touching, so many sensible people wear protection on their hands. This is worse than a face mask as you can simply use a clear-screen mask and Face-ID works fine. Disagree - notifications, I have no issues, I suppose it is what you are used to! The s21U is a very good phone but a bit expensive for Android and I expect similar equipped Android phones that offer better value in the next few months so I will wait to see what the competition brings before I get carried along by the YT creator's hype!

Only difference being, when they say it about Samsung, it's actually the same gen phone so it means something. The iPhone is always a newer gen phone on release, so it doesn't really mean anything until the new Samsung comes out. In that perspective, the Samsung is always better.

I've been an iOS guy for years but it breaks my heart how petty has Apple become on features just to justify next year's incremental updates. The fact that the iPad Air haa touchID and the 12 family doesn't was the last drop for me. I love my 12 Pro but it's such a pain to use outside when my face is covered 80% of the time. The stainless steel collecting fingerprints like the CSI and the lack of 120hz in favor of 5G that barely anyone can use now were the last nails of the coffin. I have both the Ultra and the 12 Pro and I just can't go back to the iPhone... I hate Samsung emoji and how bad is social media on Android, but in every single other aspect the Ultra destroys the 12 and possibly the 13 too.

I just ordered the S21 Ultra 512GB Unlocked from Best Buy. I have the 12 Pro Max, and I have until Thursday to decide if I want to refund it. I have been wanting to switch since the Note came out, but never pulled the trigger and instead jumped on the iPhone when the old design came back out. I am also sorta deep in the ecosystem and will be wanting a tablet later on of some sort. I already have the AirPods Pro, Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Credit Card, so I'm torn. But I jumped on the S21 Ultra just in case while it was available because of how hard it is to get right now. Also, the ecosystem aside, losing iMessage will be hard for me, especially losing my group chats and the ability to natively send and receive large data and full quality photos and videos. I just don't know what to do at this point. Is the S21 Ultra really worth switching to for the average user who doesn't need customization?
